👍👍 It’s been awhile since I came here because of Covid. We decided to pick up food here a few days ago and we were not disappointed. My mom enjoyed her Mahi Mahi plate. As a food photographer with UberEATS and GrubHub contracts I get to see inner workings of couple hundred restaurants a year. Sunny Side impressed in many areas and I usually don't get impressed that easily. The business is run by highly energetic and super kind Lucy who is omnipresent in the kitchen as well as on the floor friendly chatting with local patrons and visitors. The place is fresh and clean. The kitchen staff looks happy and works diligently to get your meal quickly ready. Most importantly, I had the opportunity to sample several dishes and everything was ono. Solid 5 stars. Recommended.

It’s been awhile since I came here because of Covid. We decided to pick up food here a few days ago and we were not disappointed. My mom enjoyed her Mahi Mahi plate. She said the fish was crispy and cooked well with not too much panko and flavorful. I loved my Kalibi plate. The meat was tender and had lots of yummy sauce. Dessert, we of course had Sunnyside famous pies. The chocolate cream pie was as good as I remember it (I actually bought a whole pie but the rest of my family couldn’t wait till I took a pic so u only see my slice) and they enjoyed the apple pie as well. Service is excellent and with a smile. Lovely ladies working hard there. Bought a shirt for the husband. (his food is in the pics too but I’m sorry I can’t remember what he ordered!!! 😓sorry!!) Highly recommend this hometown spot in Wahiawa.

Small joint. Very fair prices!!! Not much parking in the lot but plenty of street parking. Service is pretty quick and it seemed most of the guests preferred to go orders. The inside could fit 8-10 small parties but there were a couple of tables outside if you wanted to dine in the fresh air. I’m 100% sure that when there’s a game going, you won’t be able to get seating but I went on a random Saturday*** looking for bfast and lunch plates so it was empty except the to-go window. You can order ahead and pickup or order at the outside window. I just loved the convenience and how quickly I received my order. The food was fresh and hot and the burger was delicious. There seemed to be no salt on my fries so if you want, make sure to request it! To go plates is a paper plate covered in foil so bear that in mind if you’re getting a to go plate and traveling far. All in all, 9/10 as far as what I expected.

Serving up quick and tasty eats, this small diner is clearly a local staple. My dad and I stopped by on the way to Dole and were not disappointed! He enjoyed his Spam breakfast and I loved the Portuguese sausage and fried rice. You definitely get more than enough food for the price, which was great, especially compared to Waikiki prices. Highly recommended if you're on your way to the North Coast or other local attractions.

We decided to catch The bus and just explore. We were looking for something off the beaten path to try to support the local economy. We walked from the bus stop about a 3 min stroll. Neighborhood isn’t great but I didn’t feel unsafe. We walked in and were immediately greeted and placed our orders and sat down. Decor was nothing fancy which was perfect. Plants and pictures. My type of vibe! The food came out and smelled amazing. My husband got the Kalua pork plate and I got the loco moco. I forgot to take a picture before I started trying it. Everything was hot and delicious! She brought over some haupia which I wasn’t sure what it was but after tasting it I didn’t care. Coconut pudding jello is the best way to describe it. But that doesn’t really sound appealing but it was! Try it out and see what you think! I would go back if we visit again.

Chocolate cream pie! Seems to sell out daily, it's reasonably priced and tastes like a slightly more solid chocolate pudding in a pie crust. Love it. Super tempted to get breakfast every time I pick up a pie, but figured one temptation a day is enough.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed every bite of hamburger steak. Portions were generous and ono. Loved that they were flexible and willing to add/take off items if needed. Wanted to try a pie, but was sold out. Will be back for more!

If I could give Sunny Side no stars, I would. My family and I went into the restaurant to have breakfast with a licensed service dog. The lady at the cash register told us that we couldn’t have my Aunty’s service dog with us. My Aunty explained to the lady that he is a trained and licensed service animal and that she could look at his license that is attached to his service vest. The lady still insisted we couldn’t have him (the dog) with us. It is against the law for a restaurant to deny service dog’s entrance. The establishment could be subject to a fine or even imprisonment. We will be following through with this action. Shame on you (the lady at the cash register).
