Beach is incredible. Ocean views from every unit. Truly stunning. Perfect to watch the sunset. Rooms a bit dated, but nice. Location is a bit far from the areas we wanted to frequent (we drive to ko olina each day). The area this hotel is in is lower socio economic and there are many homeless people. We never felt unsafe, but just a heads up as you will notice it on your drive to the hotel.

What’s not to love?!?! The pictures just don’t do it justice! PARADISE! We LOVE that it’s not crowded and touristy like Honolulu and Waikiki (nearby Kapolei is nicer). As a matter of fact, I met an older couple who live in Honolulu and vacation here at Makaha in their timeshare! Our host was very communicative and provided plenty of options for dining and adventure. The staff are very friendly. The pool and whirlpool are nice but smallish. The condos (all beach facing) are generally small, but has all of the amenities of home. With the very tolerable mid-80s, the building’s weaker air con system is fine. Opening up the condo allows the very swift breeze (like a shotgun house) to keep things cool enough IF not out ‘n about during the day. The resident sea turtles are spotted daily. We will definitely return when the opportunity arises!

All photos taken from the balcony. Perfect location on the west side. Amazing sunsets. Away from the people and hustle of Waikiki it doesn't get better. Would totally stay here again!

Wow, right on secluded beach for sunning ans swimming, great poop, jacuzzi and game room. Private lanai gives wonderful sunset on the ocean every night, while the views outside the front door incl majestic mountains and a small bay and view if Wainae...absolutely beautiful and wonderful! Also has a nice area to barbecue your meal, and boards and floats for ocean or pool

Hotel right on the beach with spectacular views and beautiful sandy beach. Rooms are a little small but nice. Hot tub and pool, we love the place.

The beach you have “access” to isn’t owned by the princess resort it’s owned by the Cabanas next door. The beachfront that the princess has is all dangerous rocks and not safe for kids. You’ll have to walk to the cabanas next door to be able to enjoy their secret gem of a beach. Be careful because everything is gated and usually what ends up happening is tourists from the princess come over to the cabanas and take up all the parking spaces and even park at the gate and invite people that aren’t residents to the cabanas. Please keep this place hidden, safe, and clean we don’t want it to turn into Waikiki.

AMAZING doesn't even begin to describe it... A sweet slice of paradise! Dinners on the balcony watching the sunset over turquoise water, breakfast on the balcony watching turtles in the water below - it was everything we’d hoped! Walked downstairs to go to the beach, showered and swam in the pool when we were done with the waves, spent evenings in the hot tub... We had plans to go all over the island, but ended up staying locally (read: within a 15 minute drive) more than we’d planned - everything we needed or wanted was right there. We did do a couple of longer trips to Honolulu/the Diamond Head area, the Dole Pineapple Plantation, and Waimea Falls and found it all very accessible - we only ran into traffic once, coming back from the falls. We stayed a week, didn't want to leave, and hope to come back!!

The room was great, beautiful views quiet secure. The only problem we has was with the bill. We followed all of the rules, which there are a lot of, as far as we know. They charged us an extra $80? Tried reaching out and they couldn't be bothered to give us a statement. Just sent a copy of our credit card charge with no explanation.

This location really is a hidden gem! It's located on the west side of the island on this amazing cove and, quite frankly, pictures truly do no justice as to how astounding and sensational this place really is. Management is awesome! Like any place there are rules and regulations in place but the manager really helped make my stay special. The only negative thing about this location is the traffic!!! There's only ONE road in and that's the same road out. There are also a few vagabonds but they stay to themselves and don't bother anyone. The city just south of this location is a little poverish but the people are kind souls and very friendly and helpful.

Best sunset view ever! Makaha is a quiet town where the Aloha spirit abounds. Orion is currently vacationing also. Night skies are stunning when away from lights.

This old blonde/gray haired lady was very very rude. Didn’t catch her name but she was working around 2 pm on Friday. We spent the day at the beach outside and while we were rinsing off with the hoses provided by the complex specifically for rinsing before entering, the lady made multiple rude comments about our family and using the water. She would rather complain and have all the sand we were trying to rinse off in the pipes of the hotel instead of us rinsing off outside where we are supposed to. Very rude and poor customer service she should’ve just minded her business instead of watching us rinse off from the sand and ocean.
