This city centre hotel next to the cathedral is set over three floors. Because of the age of the building the steep and winding stairs may prove difficult to those of limited mobility. The rooms are graded as superior, standard and budget and priced accordingly. Our superior room was large and on the ground floor. The bathroom was in need of refurbishment and the addition of a wardrobe would be a plus. The breakfast was included but was not as good as on our previous visit (no hot food). Sometimes the staff needed prompting to restock the cold table. I felt that it traded on the location.

The service was correct, but it was a bit expensive for the condition of the hotel and the variety of the breakfast. The bed was comfortable but the room was quite tiny. The location was very good, but since it's so central you hear everyone (most of the time drunk) shouting on the street during the night. You also hear everytime when anyone goes to the (shared) toilet. I can recommend it if you're staying one quick night, but if you come for a few days and want your quality sleep and services maybe not.

Loved this hotel! Perfect location in the shadow of the cathedral but not at all touristy. Our room was a great deal - clean and comfortable with a view of the cathedral and included a nice breakfast. The staff was friendly, and one staff member (Laurie, I believe) went out of her way to be as helpful as possible - this included helping us place a call to France to recover a lost wallet, and serving as our interpreter when were unable to communicate with the lost & found office we were calling. Over and above the call of duty - thank you, Laurie!!!

Great place to stay and right in the middle of the historic district. I actually choose it for it's low price. But with a nice view on the famous church I really enjoyed my stay. Beds are decent and the room I stayed in had it's own bathroom. Other are shared bathrooms outside the rooms.

Nice hotel located next to the Grote Markt and really cute streets full of cafes and restaurants. Breakfast buffet is really nice and the staff is friendly. Room was really simple (no tv, no bathroom) but a super comfy bed; we got the room next to the street and we enjoyed the bells from the cathedral that is just next to the hotel, at night could be loud for some people thought.

At first glance, this quaint hotel might make you second-guess your decision—there are small stains on the carpet, the walls, and the ceilings. But what Postiljon lacks in thorough maintenance, it more than makes up for with everything else. And I mean everything. The service is excellent—the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The afternoon/evening concierge recommended restaurants and gave us helpful and interesting local information. He was quite chatty and hilarious and I very much liked him. The room was small-ish but very cozy. Our bed was quite comfortable and we both slept extremely well. The sheets and pillows were clean as was the bathroom—we had a room with its own toilet, which was nice, and a large shower. There was a small wardrobe to hang our clothes, which was an appreciated touch. The view outside our window was of the grand Cathedral, and if you looked down you could see all the people walking to and fro as well as sitting on the neighbouring patios. Postiljon’s location was pretty much ideal—we could easily walk to the tram/bus stop for excursions as well as wander the surrounding grounds for all kinds of shops and restaurants (there are a lot of them around). The building itself is charming and the atmosphere was very welcoming. While there are stains and marks, it is perhaps the result of age and time and not necessarily a sign of cleanliness—because for the large part, things are clean just not meticulously maintained. Though many have commented on the stairs I didn’t find it much of an issue, despite our 5 bags. Overall, I kind of fell in love with this place and I would stay here again if we ever found ourselves returning to Antwerp in the future.

Nice place. The spot is amazing. Beds are small for me but itvs nice and warm in the room. Clean and tidy. Mornings are silent. The view from the room was not interesting though.

Expensive for what it is.... There are other, better and more chique hotels than this bad maintained, unhygienic "hotel". I feel sorry for the bad image it makes for Antwerp city. The management is a joke of incompetence! Think twice before you book here!
