Was 8 months pregnant on a hot day and politely asked to use the toilet as I was having an urgent emergency (in my best Dutch) and was told I must pay. Sad to visit an establishment that doesn’t care about women in such a vulnerable state. I’m ashamed for them. I hope saving 5 cents on toilet paper was well worth it.

I was in Antwerp on vacation and decided to eat brunch here with three of my friends. I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich and almost finished the whole thing (two of my other friends had a bite) when we noticed a tiny, live, wriggling green worm on the baguette. Needless to say, I was disgusted. I showed it to the waitress who apologized. She came back with the bill and explained that the cost of my meal was taken out and she apologized again. Regardless I was very disturbed by this negative experience especially as I was a tourist on vacation.

Probably the friendliest café in Antwerp. The host is so lovely, she talks to everyone and all the staff are friendly. The food is very good and very reasonably priced. The strong coffee has excellent flavour and the croque madame is delicious.

Lovely friendly staff, delicious hot chocolate, pricing was also very good. Their English was much better than my Dutch. Had a croque monsieur, and a Normandy pancake. Both lovely, however I found a hair in the pancake. Didn't raise it as I thought it may be complicated to explain.
