Management need to have a serious word with themselves. Allowing a huge queue to accumulate on Friday night to then turn away people at the door who weren’t double jabbed/hadn’t had a negative test within 2 days prior. Still can’t see anything on the socials from that night stating this new discriminatory rule , your woke female bouncer informed us it was plastered everywhere but couldn’t be bothered to take herself down the queue to give people the heads up. Other bars thought we were joking when we mentioned it to them. Society already went through a period of vast discrimination, ‘no travellers allowed’ etc, here we go again.

Used to be my place to go without issues, friendly bar staff, good music, good prices. One day, I approached the bouncers to report a guy stalking one of my friends around the club. Not only did the bouncers deny anything was happening to my face, they even refused to let me speak to a manager or bar staff, and floored me when I disagreed. I've since been barred from even band gigs, having lost money on tickets and not been told I couldn't attend these band events. Avoid like the plague. Go to Howl or Santiagos. Edit: while the owner is under the impression I assaulted a security guard, camera footage will show I tried to walk past them to speak to management. At the end of the day if they want to believe their security staffs word that's fine. I have been avoiding key club like the plague and I haven't missed it since. Laughable that I was assaulted and this is the response, still, after four years. Maybe one day Key club will have management that can manage their own ability to be professional and reasonable, as opposed to being petulant. Also the metal room floor still smells of urine.

I flew in from Denmark to attend a night with four concerts. Some locals and some not. The entrance makes this place stand out for me. And once inside, the aircondition was great, room looked really good and backstage area was a surprise with arcade machines (some not working). The sound during the show was great, and I was served by the staff in a polite and effective way. I would gladly come back next time I fly to England.

Instead of an explanation after our friend got turned down for drinks at the bar, we were all questioned by the bouncers. We obviously werent drunk but still the female barmaid persisted not to talk to or explain the situation to us. We love this club and expected more from the staff

Went to a gig here last night, a girl collapsed so they stopped the show and the boys who were in the pit with her were all joking about who had given her ‘the drink’ right in front of the bar staff who didn’t bat an eye. Didn’t feel like a safe environment so we left.

Me and my friend came there just to have a good time like everyone else, we didn't look for any trouble with anyone, we acted in a respectful manor and abided by the rules of the establishment. We pretty much kept ourselves to ourselves and just danced for most of the night. Out of nowhere I was pulled aside by the bouncer and accused of harassing people, I then proceeded to explain my side of the story but I was instantly dismissed, being the tall straight white male I am. A bunch of adolescent woke moralists looking for any excuse to exercise their 'voice' of freedom when in reality they're just there to police you in a condescending way. Would not recommend to anyone.

First time here, great great venue. This country needs more basement gig venues like this. Friendly bouncers and nice bar staff. Night was nearly ruined by a gang of Robert smiths but the situation was diffused. Will definitely be back.

I had a very intellectual debate with one of the bartenders regarding uranium stocks and import in hindsight to the coup in Niger. 5*s for the interaction. We came to the conclusion that Europe should minimise its dependence on Africa. I did not come here for the food nor something as trivial as losing sobriety and mindlessly flailing my arms about, but I'm giving the other categories 5 stars on behalf of my coked up acquaintances who seemed to have a good time.

The venue itself is very nice. The security however, not so much. Me and my girlfriend were going to a 14+ gig. The doors opened at 7pm. We arrived a little early so went for a walk and then entered at 7pm. We were then shouted at by the security man for coming too early. We stood there for 2 seconds and checked the time on our phones to see if we were mistaken (we weren’t), and he then proceeded to shout at us again. We waited outside for another 10 minutes, at which he then came outside and shouted at us again. It completely ruined the experience and left me and my girlfriend in tears. Not sure if it was because we were younger than him or if it’s because we were a visibly queer couple. Either way, we were sure to avoid him during the show but felt so upset by the experience and anxious of what might happen if he saw us again that we ended up leaving half way through.

Horrible experience, the staff in this place is very passive aggressive. One of my friends got kicked out for “harassing people” when we were just stood in the corner minding our business, seemed like because we were dressed like typical “straight lads” we just got generalised and singled out. The door woman needs to take a look at her self in the mirror, extremely unprofessional and I felt like I wasn’t welcome.

Don’t go here! The spiking is so so bad here, but the staff won’t do anything and security will just chuck you out. I got spiked a while ago I had two drinks and was blackout couldn’t move my limbs or anything I don’t remember anything. Luckily my partner was with me, and I had to go to hospital and had bloods taken. There was ketamine in my system (I don’t touch drugs). When I was blackout bouncers kicked me out onto the street and my partner had to call an ambulance, it was really traumatising and I’ve heard so many stories of people being spiked there. I emailed key club and they essentially said they can’t do anything, my friend got spiked there too. It is a dangerous place for girls please don’t go!!! What’s scary is I was in a group of people at the time too.

Usually really good here. Drinks are great and staff are nice! Music Saturday was awful though, we waited 2 hours for any sign of improvement and aside from 3 songs, there was barely anything anyone knew in the main room. Some pop bits in room 2 but not what we came to keys for. Nothing like the music advertised on saturday :(

Me and my friend got wrongfully accused of harassing other people with no evidence whatsoever. We voiced our side of the matter to staff. None of which took our perspective into consideration. We got kicked out for no reason. We attended with the intention of having a good time and harming nobody, but it's clear that assumptions were made based off of the fact that we happen to be young straight lads and we don't fit in with the average demographic. Complete hypocrisy. Do not recommend. They say everyone is welcome, but clearly this isn't the case.

Love the premise of key club and there was some lovely bouncers but the night was ruined by a rude staff member behind the bar. Simply ordering drinks and we were met with an argumentative woman who got angry with us for asking what the house specials were and continued to be rude whilst serving us. There was 3 of us and all of us were speechless as to why she was so rude. It put a downer on the night. We would love to visit again but hope the staff are encouraged to have basic manners.

Watched the Score here. Gig was fantastic. Great little venue easy layout staff were great. I took my autistic child to the gig and they were very friendly and helpful. I can only assume they are not from dirty Leeds. 🤭. Only joking great experience!

Good atmosphere, people are generally nice and well behaved. Rock music in one room and pop in another. Has a quiet room with arcade games and sofas. One of my go-to clubs because I know the atmosphere will be there.

The venue itself is pretty sweet but the door staff are absolute tools. Went out for a cig with my mate after paying to get in and being inside for over 2 hours and when we tried to go back in to get our bags and leave they spent 10 minutes patting down/ searching and intergating my mate even though we have been stood in front of them smoking the whole time. By the time they let us in to get our bags i realised i left my beer inside by the door and asked if i could pop back in to drink it real quick and he told me "no you've left now go". Dont charge people entry if you are going to kick them out for no reason whatsoever.

First time in the venue to see Led By Lanterns and its as fantastic venue which switched up into a club very quickly after the gig was over, I don't like clubs but I stuck around afterwards for a while and I do not regret that choice.

A nice little place. Drinks are decently priced. My only and biggest problem. I was unable to go to the bathroom while here. There's no disabled/ unisex toilets and can't use either of the others. To say that you have to pay to enter as well, This takes the cake.

Acoustics are appalling - it's a low-ceilinged concrete bunker with no damping whatsover. Audience sounds reverberate and nearly drown the band it's that bad. A few quid on acoustic baffles could make al the difference.

Went to the Key Club following the Hot Mulligan gig at Stylus, great way to cap off the night - good drinks, quick service at the bat, and of course the tunes were spot on.

    Dj is hit or miss, if a girl is playing it's 10/10 but if a male is playing it's just the same repeated boring playlist. Otherwise fun :}

First time here yesterday. Went to see New Year's Day, came out especially to Leeds from Lincoln with my partner. Really good atmosphere, found the drinks to be a reasonable price and I only wish there was a venue like this nearer to me.

I’ve been here three times and I’ve not been disappointed. I’ve been twice to the indie night and once to the slam dunk night (emo, rock). I much preferred the indie night but that just due to my personal taste in music. The slam dunk night was much more popular and the place was filled with people. My only complaint would be it can be a bit “dead”, for a lack of a better word, as the second time I went to the indie night there were only about 10 people there. But that’s not in any way the club’s fault, probably just the popularity of indie music, and some people don’t mind busting out the moves regardless of the amount of people in the room, so it’s not really an issue. The staff are very respectful and lovely, and they have some great DJs, the music never disappoints. I’ll definitely say they play far more “alternative” songs compared to other indie nightclubs I’ve been to, which just play the popular ones. One of the best nightclubs in Leeds in my opinion. Highly recommend!

Played here with a band recently, sound was incredible considering it was a metal based evening. Could hear everything on stage very well and was delightfully balanced. Punters and other bands also commented how decent it sounded out on the floor. Professional and friendly approach from sound guy and other staff. Great night. Cheers

Nice little venue to enjoy the bands when you can get to the front. Not keen on the long steps down. Think you need a two-way escalator instead. Overall sound guys are top notch and add the acoustic of the venue.

Perfect for smaller more intimate gigs. The small size allows the artists to interact with the audience a lot more which is great

I wanna thank all the bouncers at key club on friday night for how brilliant they were helping with my friend who was unconscious on the floor. They stayed with us until we got them standing and able to walk when a lot of bouncers would have told us to move on. Thank you!

Power triping man/woman/them/they. After watching a girl being thrown on the floor ( this can be seen on Cctv if questions) by a man. Which I thought was disgusting and a red flag for any bouncers 🤷‍♂️ I then walked in behind them was me told I was not allowed in. I had do nothing wrong but then persecuted. My friend was having a birthday party inside and there was no way that I could contact them or speak to them after pleading with the bouncers even though they agreed that I have done nothing wrong and should be allowed back in. The man/woman was ridiculous and clearly doesn’t know job the job properly and fairly. I feel like I was picked on interviews because I was a different colour. I hope this is not the prerogative of the key club.

Great club, had tons of fun and enjoyed myself, it is £4 entry which wouldn’t be too bad if the prices for drinks weren’t as high as they were. Definitely think that was a little silly, but asides that. Great club.
