Awesome experience, a must for chocolate lovers. Very interesting to learn about the process of making chocolate. Being from South Africa, it makes me proud to see that it all starts in fellow African countries like Ghana. I hate to sound critical now, because I really enjoyed the experience, but here some feedback on things that could perhaps be improved :) It does makes me a bit sad that only 3% of the supply ends up back in Africa. It would be nice to show information about fair trade chocolate to guests, and to promote sustainability. The exhibition is about the history, but perhaps the future for all could be thought about too. The experience can be improved at the start. The handheld audio guide you are given does sometimes not work as you expect, I had to go back to get an English one (I did ask for that, but it seemed to still be in Spanish), and in the 4th experience room we weren't able to get it connected - we held it up in the air, pointed it at everything we could find, and gave up. After that it took a long time to figure out you don't tap the audio guide to the white tags against each piece like an NFC tag, but rather hold it away from it more like an infrared control. You're given a very brief instruction at the start, but they also seemed to show that you should tap it, instead of point at it. Maybe that's why my language was still Spanish and not English initially. I believe due to the fact that there is a busy queue at the entrance, especially with corona measures in place, that the beginning is a bit too rushed and takes away from the experience.

This museum truly stood out as the epitome of an exceptional experience. The engaging explanations, interactive environment, captivating visuals, and chocolatey quotes created a unique atmosphere. The decision to explore this place was undoubtedly the best, and I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to visit! The comprehensive historic journey curated here, complete with Instagrammable spots, the audio guided tour - which offered fascinating insights into the Belgium history of chocolate - accompanied by exciting facts and stories, was both educational and entertaining. It also featured such interactive mechatronic animations which left us honestly impressed. I refrain from revealing every detail, as some surprises are meant to be experienced firsthand. I am confident that you will be amazed. But the most cherished part of the visit, without a doubt, is the delightful tasting experience of 10 different flavours—truly surreal. So, please make the trip, have the best time, and shamelessly indulge in tasting lots of chocolate, just like my partner and I did. <3

Excellent place to learn the history of chocolate, and specifically Belgian Chocolate. You can even taste-test all the different cocoa/chocolate variations!

Modern, unique and full of fantasy design. Great stories to hear from audio guides and a lot to learn about Belgium chocolate. 10 flavors of chocolate can be tasted in the end. However, once can be done with everything within 60 mins. Especially during Corona times, when everyone tastes the chocolate, a little more hygiene would be appreciated, as there's absolutely no way to keep spoons etc clean. Is it also worthy for the price payed? Depends, as for me, it's not worth the price due to the time and stuff one can do there. However definitely worth of chocolate fans.

Hübsch gemacht. Die Geschichte der belgischen Schokolade wird für jedes Alter abwechslungsreich präsentiert. Statt Texttafeln gibt es Audioguides in vielen Sprachen. Museumspädagogisch also gut gemacht.

A place that smells chocolate🙂 However, the information and the facilities in the area are not worthy of the ticket price. One could see a documentary on national geographic about coffee beans and their journey around the world, which would be more exciting. Finally, I would like to note that in the shop coming out, the chocolates sold are VERY EXPENSIVE. A piece of 100 grams costs 3.20 or even 4 euros.

Great visit if you're in the area! It's basically a guided audio tour where they walk you through the production and the entire history of Belgian chocolate up to present day. At the end you can taste 10+ types of chocolate that are all produced in Belgium. Great for adults and children. It's mainly a lot of information to take in so young children may not enjoy or understand every part of the tour.

The best museum experience I have so far. You don’t need to buy tickets in advance, we came there to buy tickets and wait ~5 minutes before entering. You will use a small handy audio device to listen. Each room has different stories, representing different stages of making the chocolate. The price is more expensive compared to other museums for sure, but it is way more interactive, super fun and worth the money. At the end you can try around 10 chocolate tastes. They will hand you a small plastic spoon so go around a try (Gold flavor is my favorite). Highly recommend this museum

Fantastic experience in the beautiful centre of Antwerp. Personnel was very friendly. You get each a personal electronic guide that flawlessly gives you all the information in a very pleasant voice. The infotainment is something you don't see every day and feels very high tech. You'll immediately feel immersed in the wonderful world of chocolate. At the end you will know everything there is to know about Belgian chocolate and have experienced it with all your senses. At the end you can buy all the kind of chocolates that came across the tour inside this adventure.

(Translated by Google) Wow! Pleasantly surprised by this progressive museum. The thoughts that a museum is 'old and dusty' disappear like snow in the sun here. Very modern and decorated with some nice technical gadgets. Here you can learn in a fun way. Moreover, you can stock up on delicious chocolate in the shop! Nothing but recommended. (Original) Wauw! Aangenaam verrast door dit vooruitstrevende museum. De gedachten dat een museum 'oud en stoffig' is, verdwijnen hier als sneeuw voor de zon. Niets anders dan een aanrader.

It’s not worth with the money you spent! No one guide you thru the way. Most of the time, we found ourselves walking by ourselves and got confused whereabout to move forward. We did had experience in tasting but just a few spoons of chocolate, some coco beans and a piece of chocolate from chocolate making demo. Don’t expect you’ll have a tiny box of chocolate as reward for what you have paid. The 2 photo booths are old-fashion like designed 10 years ago. Had been to some similar experience. They have IT photo booth with different computerized backdrops to choose from. And pictures are automatically taken and can be sent directly to your email address. Instead of having some guides on spot to tell you what’s the coco trees look like. You listened to pre-recorded device. Instead of having a live person explaining how the farmers work in farm, you sat in front of the screens, watching video. Very disappointed experience! Need more staff and modernized hardware to serve visitors.

The Chocolate Nation is a wonderful and unique experience. With a digital tour guide you walk through the history of the chocolatiers craftsmanship in Belgium. The visual effect are very well combined with flavors and wind. After the tour you may taste up to 10 different types of liquid chocolate, each of them with a unique recipe. Chocolate Nation is definitely a must if you are in Antwerp!

We really enjoyed the tour and my son especially loved trying to find the little chocolate maker in each room. You learn how chocolate is made in very fun and engaging ways. The chocolate tasting at the end of the tour was the best part! Delicious!! Definitely recommend! And of course you’ll leave buying wayyyyyy too much chocolate from the shop! 😂

We went to the chocolate museum. The price was quite high for a 90% audio based museum. After the audio tour, there was a small taste setting for chocolate, and that was about it. Would recommend the store more than the museum price wise.

2nd time there and it was great as usual. Didn't have the tasting at the end because of COVID, but gave each person a box of all 10 flavors! So you still get to taste, what great way to make up for it!

Visiting chocolate Nation while traveling through Antwerp is a must! We were basically the only guests in the museum due to COVID-19. They've got excellent measures in place regarding the pandemic. Instead of being able to taste the chocolate displayed in the last room of the tour, they give you a box of samples instead. (See pictures attached). Overall very interesting and cinematically enhanced.

(Translated by Google) Had a fun afternoon with my daughters aged 11 and 14. Been indoors for about 1.5 hours. Learned a lot about cocoa, the production process, Belgian chocolatiers, praline boxes and much more. Beautiful and surprising decoration in different rooms. Regularly a nice corner for a photoshoot = a great snack for teenagers :-) Unfortunately no tasting, but the chocolate box that we got home was sooooooo good! Combined with a walk in Antwerp. Great day! P.S. 1) The daughters want to go back when workshops are allowed to continue ;-) And P.S. 2) Super friendly employees! (Original) Een leuke namiddag gehad met mijn dochters van 11 en 14. (Translated by Google) Very nice, especially for families with children. It is educational in a fun way, but also a piece of experience: production, restaurant (visual experience). Corona safe visit. What a pity that a workshop was not possible. The sample package that we tasted at home was a unique taste experience that extended the enjoyable visit. Still a bit on the pricey side. (Original) Heel leuk, zeker voor gezinnen met kinderen. Het is educatief op een leuke manier maar ook een stuk beleving: productie, restaurant ( visuele beleving). This was definitely one of the best museums I have ever been to, maybe even the best. It’s super cool and interactive. While it may be unique in its style, it isn't something that you would go to to truly see the chocolate-making process. It feels as though the details that some may find interesting are missing, but for a general introduction and lesson on Belgian chocolate, this is a great place! Trying the different chocolates at the end also really adds to the experience, and it is generally quite fun.

Everyone loves chocolate and this place is great. Takes you through some of the first of Belgian chocolate with an audio visual tour. The highlight is OBVIOUSLY the tasting, where you get to try 10 different chocolates. And all of it really well set out. I don't know how good this would be for going kids, but teens and above should be great.

It's a small private museum that is well maintained. Would be interesting for kids to know the history of chocolate as the story telling was done nicely by using technology through different chambers and tasting different chocolates when the cocoa % differs is a good way to find difference. Their store has some nice chocolates. Ruby pebbels is must pick. A one time visit for adults. 18+ eur ticket was pricey.

If you like chocolates, this is the place to be. You need to buy a ticket and experience the history, heritage and evolution of Chocolate production in Belgium. The best part is that you can even try all 'types' of their homemade versions for free. The visit will typically last between 1 and 1.5 hours. Lastly, the trip will lead to their store which took me another 30 mins to choose from their rich variety of chocolate collection. Definitely recommended.

It's my first trip to Antwerp and we enjoyed everything about it. The Chocolate Nation is really awesome !!! We got to know Soo much about the chocolate and how it is made. There are different sections for explaining the processes from harvesting to creating the end product ( the delicious Belgium Chocolates 😃). The method of showing the story through the targeted projection is really amazing. And at the end of the tour you got to taste so many different type of chocolates !!!! A Worth to visit experience. A will give a chocolate 🍫 star to the experience. Must visit !!!

It is a fantastic place to visit if you have children, as every experience is designed as an interactive story. You will embark on a journey that starts with the growth of cocoa beans, follows their journey, and ends with the creation of a product that we all adore. The only downside is that the tasting room at the end is quite small with only plastic spoons provided. You can try a couple of chocolate fountains and that is it.

We are both chocolate lovers so we chose this museum to visit. All the materials are presented in lively way and interesting. After buying the ticket, you will get an audio guide and move on to the rooms where you learn about chocolate making process. Although the staff gave us the wrong language audio guide, we called and it was settled in a fast manner. Just regrettably, we missed the first part (which is also the most interesting one) as we were expecting English language coming up after Dutch. Love the chocolate tasting part. It was beautiful.

If you wish to learn about the ins and outs of the chocolate, do not hesitate to visit this museum! It is more an experience than a museum in fact, with rooms that appeal to all your senses by using the latest technology. Really enjoyable! Plus, you get to taste 9 different chocolates at the end, what else can you ask for.

We had a great time here, it's very interesting to learn about chocolate and the history of chocolate in Belgium. The tour was a lot longer than I expected, we took our time and were inside for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. The chocolate tasting before you exit is a great way to end the tour. You can try 10 different blends of chocolate and the flavors are incredible. Even though we went on a weekday there were a few loud kids running around and yelling, also during the live demonstrations, which was annoying and distracting to the guide who was trying to explain what and how they were making chocolate.

Good tour but a bit overpriced. Also, the cook decided to speak some non English during the live demonstration. The demonstration was cool but I understood nothing. Pretty rude to assume everyone spoke whichever language he chose.

Absolutely amazing. It's probably best to come by train, since it's right by the central station. You'll have no problem finding it, as it's in a very big building and easily visible. There is space to put your belongings you don't want to take with you inside the museum, lockers with codes you choose yourself, they're free so no problem there either. It's accessible for everyone, as there are lifts for people with mobility issues. Apart from that, the experience is amazing, there are a good amount of different rooms, in which you're guided by an audio guide you get at the beginning. There are three different times at which you may taste chocolate, in the first room, then at the praline demonstration where a real chocolatier shows you how they make them and then at the end there are a wholr bunch of different kinds of chocolate you can taste at your own speed and as much as you like. It's fun for all ages, as I myself went with a group of people from 8 to 80 years old. Overall a great experience, and if you don't want to go through the museum then you can still just go straight to the shop, where you're sure to find the chocolate for you.

Amazing musuem! Definitely worth paying to experience. Enter, pay and then store bags and coats in free lockers. There are around 14 rooms to walk through where the story of how chocolate is produced is shown and explained. The first 4 rooms you go around with a group of people, however after this you can take your time and walk around on your own. You get given an audio/speaker which hangs from a lanyard around your neck. Just hold it up to your hear to hear. The information provided was so interesting and there were lots of pictures and objects to look at that correspond with the audio. We experienced 3 tasting rooms. The first one it is possible to have a couple of handfuls of small chocolate pebble things, the second taster is a chocoalte demonstration - get to try a praline, the third is the last room which has 10 containers of melted chocolate and you can go around with a teaspoon and pump chocolate onto your spoon. No one seemed to mind that we went for a second round! Gift shop after to buy chocolates and souvenirs if you can stomach any more chocolate!

(Translated by Google) Superb welcome. Audio guide in French. Very interesting tour for all ages. Many rooms (14 in total) very fun and well thought out. You will learn everything about chocolate. From the harvest of the cocoa bean to the production of pralines, including the fermentation of the beans, logistics and export. You will learn more about the first men who took part in the fame of Belgian chocolate: Léonidas, Guylain, Côte d'or ... The must: the taste surprise when you are in the shop to overcome the promised tasting but impossible counts given the current context (covid19). I highly recommend for young and old ... gluttony has no age! (Original) Superbe accueil. Audio guide en français. Visite très intéressante pour tous les âges. (Translated by Google) Nice line-up, especially the beginning with the different rooms. The audio equipment also works well. Only the partially moderately interesting info points became a bit much towards the end. The trial boxes (the actual area for it is closed due to Corona) brought that out again. Maybe a little too expensive compared to other great museums in town. But otherwise worth a visit.

What a delightful surprise! Visiting Chocolate Nation was one of the best things to do in Antwerp. The self guid visit goes through the cocoa tree, the plantation, its trip to Europe in big ships til the manufacturing of the chocolate. There’s also information about the history of Belgian chocolate and, after the visit, you get a little souvenir with lots of types of chocolates. It’s completely worth it!

Really good place to visit if you like chocolate. This museum stimulates both your senses both in terms of visuals, sounds, and taste. First you go through some rooms in teams at a set pace, making sure that distancing is possible. Here you are told about the process from cocoa bean to finished chocolate. Afterwards you are free to go at your own pace listening to facts, history, and seeing a bit of chocolate art. You can even get a viewing of the employees making chocolate. The trip ends with a delicious chocolate tasting, first with the common variations, and hereafter some more uniquely developed blends.

Absolutely loved here, it's a great place for children to learn how chocolate is grown, how it's processed and made into the way we eat it. It's a very interactive tour especially the video on the tables and at the end the tasting of the different chocolates. Have now found my favourites - Ruby, Madagascan and Brazil 😍 would of stayed in the tasting room forever if I could, a brilliant experience for all the family

I balked at the steep museum price at first. But after a full tour of the world’s largest Belgian chocolate museum, I can say that it’s quite worth the money! It starts with an organised tour where we moved section by section to learn about the process and people of chocolate-making. A cute cut-scene at a sit-down restaurant marked the transition between the guided course and the free and easy roam-around. Using the complimentary audio-guides, we could take our time to listen to the visionary chocolate makers of old and their milestones. There’s a hall with lots of chocolate statues. It shares about some of the pivotal moments in chocolate history - including the discovery of ruby chocolate after 60 years and the invention of chocolate-dipped ice-cream. The next rooms have selfie corners and Cocoa Horizons endorsements. My jaunt concludes with chocolate tasting in the final room. It is the best room. 10 types of chocolate - white, milk, gold, ruby, dark - with detailed descriptions. Equipped with a plastic spoon, I could try everything. It’s a big hit for all chocolate-lovers.

Very nice place to visit and get more info about chocolate. It has very nice history of how chocolate has become popular in Belgium. I wished to have more explanation of technical processes. It was seriously phenomenal! I wouldn't lie saying I was expecting another tacky belgian food museum - but it was really classy one, informative and just fun to be! :) All was accessible, engaging and all information was given in a approachable way. But of course the best part is that you get to taste TEN different chocolates! That was a dream come true for some with such a sweet tooth like me. :) I'd recommend to plan visit for about an hour and book tickets earlier. Kudos to amazing staff!

UNREAL. No queue time, very interesting to hear about all of the origins about chocolate. Audio was easy to work and was cool to see chocolatier's working while we were walking around. BEST PART was eating all the different chocolate flavours and tried them all more than we should have, white, golden and the first milk chocolate on the second set of fountains were the best. 10/10 place and recommendation.

The definitive guided tour of the history of Belgian chocolate. A well-narrated tour full of mechatronic animations and historic displays that tell the story of Belgian chocolate and the development of the chocolate industry. This simple tour will make you an expert on chocolate in 1 hour. The tasting session at the end happens in a stunningly decorated tasting room. The tour location is located conveniently close to the Antwerp Central train station.
