Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp just next to Vlaamsekaai. Very beautiful setting and atmosphere in here because of the huge spaces they have. The exhibitions are always interesting and amusing even for people who do not visit museums often. Although as a local citizen I would like to see more change of exhibitions here. Under 26 you get a big discount as well when you are an Antwerp citizen. On Thursday evenings it is longer open and the price is just 3 euros!

Located in a significant structure from the sixteenth century, this is one of Antwerp's smaller museums 🇧🇪. It was once an orphanage for young girls and is now home to artwork by Jacob Jordaens or Peter Paul Rubens.

A small museum, only on the ground floor. It used to be an orphanage for girls, due to lost of documentations, they don’t have enough information about how the orphanage worked and how the kids were treated and where are they now etc. It showcases some art collections and uniforms of the orphanage. Costs €8 for public under 25 years old.

No English information, so the full experience was lost. Sure, I understand a bit of Dutch and google translate and all, but the museum didn't manage to tell the story. Too few items to look at, very few rooms.

A small museum in a lovely old building which was originally a foundling home and then was the welfare centre for Antwerp. It has paintings, but it is mainly of historical interest for its photographs and objects from various orphanages. There is also a baby box, a reminder of the times when many women were unable to keep or care for their babies.

Very nice staff at the counter, she informed us there wasn't gonna be any English translations (so be prepared to have your Google Translator in handy). Quite a small exhibition, but gorgeous antique tapestries and very informative about the former ways of use.

The children also found it interesting how the shelter had been organized before, what they taught in it and how they got there. There are very interesting pictures, I especially liked the picture of the unknown Antwerp master, “7 Virtues and 7 Deadly Sins”. I was pleasantly surprised that they work on Monday. Muhka is a really nice museum. It is quite big zo you can easely wander in it for hours. Most of the time the exhibitions are good, with interesting contemporary artists. However sometimes it can be dissapointing or it is not curated in a good way. But luckely there are always more than one at the same time, so there will always something you like. I like the museum restaurant, especially the fresh homemade soup. The entrance is nice, it is like an inviting library. The only dissapointing thing is the gift shop/bookstore which is the same as the entrance. They usually have the catalogues of the ongoing exhibitions, and a few postcards which they keep the same all year round. If you want a nice art book you'll have to go go the fine arts museum in Brussels.

(Translated by Google) I didn't really like my visit to the museum. Largely because of the nudist images I have seen at times. In times of covid, it was necessary to plan a line for those who booked online and for those who paid at the entrance. Otherwise those who have already booked line up for nothing. Finally, the most were certain pearls in the Monoculture exhibition. But overall, I'm pretty disappointed and there's no way to use the changing rooms ...

(Translated by Google) Of course the M (U) HKA is a beautiful museum. Large, white rooms with raised ceilings and beautiful light. A nice permanent collection and currently two temporary exhibitions. I think air conditioning (it was nice and cool anyway). But what makes the museum in Corona times even more beautiful is that it is completely Corona-resistant. Fixed walkways. Gel everywhere. Do you want to experience a unique experience? On this 1st Sunday of August we had ... a private museum! There was no one except the attendants. Except my 2 children and I ... no one. Admiring the art in such a large ballroom makes it even more special. Of course such a thing cannot be sustained for the long haul, but for as long as you can, take your chance and enjoy a private museum! The only downside of course: mouth masks are mandatory. And there you are the only one with the attendant 50 meters away. Anyway ... they are 'allowed' to wear it all day long, so of course we also show solidarity.

Old orphanage house for girls. Small but atmospheric museum with nice and old 16-17th paintings.
