(Translated by Google) The Dieseghem farm, as it stands today, is the only remnant from the time of a Frankish villa 'Tissengien' that was built somewhere in the 11th century. Now it is a meeting place that can be rented for, among other things, exhibitions, academic sessions, concerts, theater activities, meetings, study days, readings and poetry moments. I personally experienced this special location in the former living room of the farm, which was set up as a café and it can be very cozy in winter with the warmth of the 'Leuven stove. It was then a meeting of nature point as a break after voluntary work in the nearby nature reserve 'Klein-Zwitserland.

This farm from the oldest history of Mortsel, whose estate belonged to the powerful Cardinal de Granvelle in the Middle Ages together with that of the Cantincrode castle (source: ArcheoNet Vlaanderen), was rebuilt in 1979 after a devastating fire and is the ideal starting point for a nature walk in the area called “Little Switzerland”.
