Definitely worth a visit! Super informative and fun. Wasn’t busy at all. You’re given a head set which you listen too as you’re walking around the museum. We did the virtual reality, museum and tower. Not too expensive. There are many many steps to the top of the tower and it is very narrow at the top but you get amazing views of Bruges! You do however have to pay to use the toilets.

My husband and I enjoyed our short visit here. First time visiting Bruges for myself and got to learn a bit about Bruges’ history in a fun and interactive way. We did the VR and story activity. Both were informative and enjoyable. The place was very clean and the staff was friendly. Affordable prices.

Heads up for Americans, since we are more modest on this stuff. The tour has a movie you watch as you go along, and there's some randomly gratuitous full frontal female nudity (not a naked statue, it's a video of a nude woman in a bathhouse walking toward the camera), so if you're going with kids, beware. That odd warning aside, the museum is very fun. The virtual reality portion is well done and worth the extra price. The tour ends with a bar on a balcony over Bruges burger square. The museum exhibit area itself is honestly sort of lame, but the fun technology part of the tour combined with the balcony beer garden makes this very worthwhile.

A great stop to appreciate the city’s past and how things have changed for the past 500-600 years since its golden age. Cleverly told through story telling, the experience includes interesting VR and nice view of the market from the second floor balcony.

It is the attraction that is worth to visit. Virtual reality tour brings you to medieval Brugge, one of the most prosperous European towns at that time. It is followed by a fascinating fictional story on one of Van Eyck’s (Flemish primitive painter) masterpieces. Kids will definitely like it. Eventually, you finish at the Duvel bar.

A bit too short for the price. It's a flashy tourist attraction that tells a story from the times of Jan Van Eyck. You don't really learn much about the history of Bruges, but it's definitely entertaining. Not sure I'd recommend it, there's better places to learn about history of the city without spending so much on a short wander through a video installation. Still, it's well presented and it was very quiet when I went. I imagine it's not as nice when it gets busy.

I strongly recommend you to get tickets and visit this museum as it is very informative and enjoyable. You learn lots of things about the city’s history, social and cultural life throughout the centuries. If you are not in the mood of visiting a museum, just get in to the ground floor and have a look around and notice interesting things here as well. By the way, there is the Brugge information desk on the ground floor where you can get free maps, brochures etc about Brugge and the staff is very helpful

All parts of the historium were great. The VR experience was much better than expected. Great immersive view of old brugge. The historium main exhibition was quite nice. Took us through the city’s history via a love story. The tower was nice and offered a lovely view of Markt square and the belfry.

Historium Bruges is an absolute gem! Immerse yourself in the captivating history of Bruges through cutting-edge exhibits and a mesmerizing virtual reality experience. The attention to detail is phenomenal, transporting you back in time. The friendly staff enhances the overall experience, providing valuable insights. Don't miss the panoramic views from the tower – breathtaking! Conveniently located in the heart of Bruges, it's a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Make sure to grab the informative audio guide for a deeper understanding. Een absolute aanrader voor geschiedenisliefhebbers!

Best brewery experience! The beer was ice cold, fresh, refreshing, and tasty! I highly recommend this excursion and historical experience. The tower tour is very steep and narrow. I’m slender and somewhat fit—I was huffing and puffing all the way up. I didn’t do the VR experience but it looked really cool.

Incredible experience there. One of the best museums I've ever visited. Perfect combination of the history and the modern technology. The hosts guide you through a personal story of a young boy and a girl and meanwhile you see all the places and the living of the people in Bruges. I recommend it to all visitors.

Totally worth it. I didn't expect so many people on a rainy February day. The whole tour was excellent! So many things to learn. I totally recommend it!

This museum was really interactive, and we enjoyed walking from room to room, which felt like you were in medieval Bruges. But the story linking the rooms was very weird and didn't really connect well with giving an overall history of Bruges.

It was a great experience. The VR was outstanding, great way to see Bruges in the old days. The story was well designed, immersive, enjoyable. Audio guide was entertaining and informative. Rooms were well designed, high effort. Exhibition in the end was a bit meh

Wonderful and educational experience in one of the oldest historical buildings in the heart of Bruges. The tour tells a story in which the history is explained, while you move along from room to room as the story progresses. I will not go into detail, as to not spoil anything. There is also an optional VR-experience as an introduction/prelude to the story or main tour. You have the option to go up the (narrow) tower for a spectacular 360° view. Word of advise for anyone suffering from claustrophobia, scared of heights (the tower) and motion sickness (the VR-experience, only for a few seconds at which point you can maybe take off the headset for that particular scene if necessary). The tower and VR are both seperately optional parts of the tour, there is a spatial panoramic terrace as a part of the main tour that holds a magnificent view as well.

if you're visiting Bruges with kids, then the Historium is most definitely worth a visit. If you're not, the answer is slighly more complex. We did not visit with kids :p It is an interesting experience, but not necessarily an must do kind of thing. We waited around 20 mins to go in for 8 minute virtual reality show.

An interesting step back into time. The story captures your imagination as you move from one room to the next. Interactive displays consolidate facts for the visitor, young and old. Fantastic views over the square from the Duvel bar where you can enjoy a traditional beer.

I wasn’t planning on visiting Historium but the day was gloomy and we were looking for an activity indoor. We tried the story tour which was such a fun experience to do. They’ll give you an audio guide and you will wander in different themed rooms. It was very well made and immersive. In the end you will have access to a small museum and terrace with a beautiful view. I just wished it was longer!

We visited this place 2 weeks ago (October 2021). If you want to have virtual tour, you need to pay the ticket. They have beer party in the first floor and you can enter there for free. They provide stand frame for the visitors to take a picture. The decorations for Halloween is great and interesting. You must wear a mask before entering to the property. They provide hand sanitizer for the visitors to clean their hands.

Staff informative and friendly. Nice views at the top of the tower. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area. Cafe/bar upstairs where you can get some nice drinks. There is a QR code on your receipt in order to use the toilets so don't forget to scan of you need to go 😁🇧🇪

Lots of history put into a story form with video and rooms that take you back in time! Clean and friendly. Well organised. Spectacular views!

Historium is really cool! While it may seem a bit pricey initially, it's totally worth it. You'll dive into the story of young Jacob, explore Bruges in VR, and wrap it up by enjoying the panoramic view of the main square.

Modern interactive walk through bygone Bruges. The audio/visual tour was very good as well as the 3d experience paid for separate. Lots of goodies for sale in the curio shop. Relax with a cold local beer in their pub. We climbed the tower for a panoramic view of the market plain below. A must visit if you have limited time, but enquire before you go as it can get busy. Book online or at the door.

This was a cool experience! I would recommend going in the second half of the day as it wasn’t busy at all when I attended at 16h:30. I had the whole experience on my own. The pub is great as well and if you purchase your ticket online it’s just a very small bit cheaper. The VR part is good too. Nice upper outdoor space over the square above the pub is cool. Enjoy

The Historium is an immersive trip back in time to the 14th century with a fascinating walk through atmospheric recreations of historical Bruge. The optional extra climbing up the high tower rewards with an amazing view over the central always busy Market square.

The Historium is a nice place for families to have an interactive and fun experience. However, as an adult I thought it was okay, funny film and nicely arranged rooms but I expected a little bit more. The tower has a nice view though!

Nice way to tell the city story. Not very deep, it’s not a museum but more an experience. We’ll articulated and enjoyable visit. Did not tried the VR experience because of the long line (although paid for that). Nice pub there as well and the view from the tower really worth climbing there.

Very fun experience, you can do the regular tour (17€ at the door 16€ when you order tickets online) or add the VR experience and a ticket to the top of the tower (pay extra). Audioguides are provided and you follow a story as you go through the museum. Interesting look on a day in the life of many centuries ago. Nice view on Brugge Markt at the end of the tour from the balcony too. Would recommend for a fun museum experience in Brugge .

The story the museum walks you through is very cheesy and imparts minimal knowledge of medieval Bruges. The self guided audio tour at the end was far better and provided more relevant historical information but was much shorter. We did the tower which is worth it if you want a great view without going all the way up the much higher other tower in the square. Overall would not waste money on the historiam except for the tower. We did not do the 3d VR experience so can’t comment on that.

Very cool and high tech museum. I really appreciate the story as well a fact you can't leave it without walking threw pub with delicious beer. Only 4 stars because I was missing information about modern history of Brugge. Recommended!

Overall a very enjoyable experience. Loved the VR experience, though felt it was too short. The interactive story was cute and kept my attention. Loved learning about medieval Bruges.

I really liked this place. Is beautiful and very entertaining. One of my favorite museums of all. You learn about history inmersed in a movie. Don't forget to take a picture in the balcony. It has a very nice view.

Beautiful architecture beyond words. Horse ride tour €60 Bus tour $20/pax Bike tour (forgot to ask) Else you can explore the place for a good 2-3hours. But if you shopped a lot, a good half day is good.
