Fascinating site - full of the history of a great captain of industry in Belgium. The restaurant is superb.

Very interesting museum, great use of space for art

The building of coal mine is quite interesting. There are also some picturesque ruins and some staff from the former mine on the territory around. The art they exhibit there is far from my understanding, but may be some people like such kind of art. The one thing which I didn't like was that one of the museum exhibition hall supervisor was behaving strange and was completely impolite. That was really not pleasant. And on the contrary the girl at the entrance desk was very polite and understanding.

Interesting historical place for weekend trip, parking right in front doors, wc almost everywhere, adequate fee, English speaking personnel, English guides avail, not crowded, design and art exhibitions inside, even some parts interesting for kids

Interesting site. Has been converted to an art gallery with an admission fee. But you can still walk the grounds of this old mining site (although nothing of the actual mines is still visible) for free. The 2 euro audioguide is well worth the money. Loved the storytelling!

The art gallery of gran hornu has a really big place. Its like an ex of castile, the architecture are sooo nice. Its really cold when you came on auntumn outside the building. This is a great place to have an art exhibition. They have so many rooms for any kind of exhibition, like painting or instalation art. Its a good view on autumn tho

Great historical location to visit. Including the neighborhoods. Site offers plenty of very exhibitions. Parking space is really convenient and safe. Worth the visit, even is far from where you live.

The best contemporary art museum in Belgium constructed from the ex-coal mine. The site and the museum is an interesting mix from historical point of view, geographical as well as from artistic choice. It's a must for people who are interested into Belgium, history and art.
