Wasn't sure what to expect when coming here. We arrived mid Feb whilst on holiday and the weather wasn't great so thought it would be a day out undercover. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The site is pretty big, we started with the top gear area which was really good, it was great to get up close to some of the wacky creations that have been made over the years. We stopped to have a bite to eat before it got busy and the prices were not to bad, probably on the slightly higher side but the cakes were very good. We moved on to the main museum and was shocked to see how many cars and bikes they have fitted into the size building. Everywhere you turn is another vehicle immaculately clean and lots of info about it. The range of vehicles is huge from the 1st cars right up to modern ones. We especially loved the 007 exhibit where you could get up close to the cars from the most recent film, it was nice to be able to get so close without them being on plinths meters away. There is a vintage bus ride and a monorail that will take you around the site which was nice to do. We took a look around the Abbey and house (included in the price of ticket) and had a stroll along the river. If you Gift aid you get to come back within the year but what wasn't made clear at the time was when you come back you only get entry to the motor museum and no other attraction or house which was a little disappointing. The only thing that really let it down for us despite being a fairly quiet day trying to get lunch between 12 and 2 results in a long wait and queue. There are plenty of picnic spots so on a sunny day I think this would be a great place to go but equally on a wet day it's a good day out if you don't mind getting a little wet as you walk between the exhibits / house and gardens.

My 2 autistic lads loved this place, lots to see and do. Being October, they were telling ghost stories in the house, HIGHLY recommend if you get the opportunity! The only change I would request is that there is more "hands on", my boys wanted to sit in the cars and see more of the insides. Enough for a whole day and even with 2 ADHD autistic lads, they were still interested and had a good day

Loved it here. We been here before we had kids, but it has improved since then and my two kids loved it. They loved the outdoor playground, which was very difficult to get them out of. Mona rail was great too.

Definitely worth getting there as it opens!! My goodness, there is SO MUCH to look at and do, we couldn't fit it all in during a single day and we got there for 10. The food in the cafe was so good, we went in twice. The whole place is so looked after and clean. Staff members are kind and knowledgeable of their work. Happy to have paid gift aid so we get the annual tickets - Definitely coming back!!

This is a fantastic place to go for a day out, whether you're a couple or have kids there is so much to do and see. We spent about 3.5 hours here. It's expensive but you definitely get more than you pay for and the food is reasonable. Do get the ice cream it's fantastic. The main attraction is the motor museum, despite not being into cars, it was an amazing collection, fascinating history and the staff are brilliant at explaining facts about the cars. It's got a little bit devoted to top gear which was cute and entertaining. If you're not a car enthusiasts there is a fun monorail, a little bus to drive you about. A beautiful Abbey that is well maintained and the ground have gorgeous art and wild birds like pheasants running around. The kitchen garden are delightful and they even have a bird if prey display. Should that not be enough the view back into the village over the lake is idyllic. The manor house is pretty too. Wear trainers!

Wonderful place to visit for young and old alike. So many special and rare cars, along with classic everyday models and a wealth of information on and history of motoring. I was lucky enough to show my car at one of the single marque event days, Simply Ford, and this was the first time I had visited since I was taken as young lad with the family. The grounds are spectacular, and the castle / palace is truly magnificent. There is so much to see and history to discover going back to the Abbey and foundation of the estate. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys a good day out in a beautiful part of the world, including those with little interest in cars!

Amazing day out, and we didn't get around all of it! Lots of parking with good access for visitors with disabilities. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, with helpful guidance on getting the most out of the day. The motor museum itself was our main aim, and there is plenty to keep everyone interested. The exhibits are all in very good condition, and really provide a "time warp" perspective. Well worth a visit any time of year.

I visited this museum for the first time about 35 years ago. I returned recently as I remembered it was very interesting and I learned a bit about motoring history. I was a wee bit disappointed with the main exhibit. 35 years on and it didn't feel it had changed much from a content perspective. I did enjoy it but my visit seemed to be missing something. Other than an ice cream cone. Yes they had ran out of cones. Tubs available though, however that's not the same to me. The Top Gear and the Car is the star exhibits we're new to me and very good. Especially the Top Gear one. First visit to the house, Abbey and Gardens which were all very nice. It was all included which made for better value. I think you had to pay extra in the past to see round the house. Overall a good day out, but probably won't be back for another 35 years!

There a lot of things to do here. The main attraction is the motor museum, very nicely laid out, with a lot of vintage, modern and some unusual cars. Without a doubt one of the best motor museum. I’m less interested about it, but they also have motorbikes and race cars. About the other attractions, you have an exhibition about Top Gear, cars used in movies, a monorail, a vintage bus, an abbey, a house, gardens and a museum about war. It’s really nice to spend a summer day with a picnic. It took us almost 6 hours to do everything at a quiet pace. We then went to Beaulieu village, which is beautiful.

A fun packed day out for the family. Main exhibition building charts the history of the motor car right up to the modern day including world landspeed record cars. Outside there is a monorail which goes around the gardens and through the roof of the exhibition centre. Other exhibitions include Top Gear featuring many cars from the series. There's also a show of cars from famous movies including James Bond. There's a cafeteria and tea shop on site. Toilets clean and functional. Well stocked gift shop. Kids play area in the gardens. Bus tours. Family house. Free parking. Not sure how busy it gets in the summer as this was February. Check prices as its not cheap.

A great day out for anyone with an interest in cars or motorcycles. Very friendly and helpful team - all covid guidelines followed and explained. The main motor museum is packed full of vehicles, accessories and toys. Loads of information. In truth, the cars from the screen was a little under-whelming. The monorail is a great few minutes of excitement. The gardens are really well kept and the sculpture on display was varied. A good day worth the money. Sadly, our fish finger sandwich was made using low quality fingers but other food looked very nice.

We attended the Gardeners World Live event at Beaulieu and haven't visited here since our children were small, so 26+ years! It was delightful. The garden event was my main attraction but we were able to use our tickets for the whole venue and visited the Palace, Motor museum, gardens and a ride on the monorail. All beautifully presented and maintained. The staff were a credit to the centre, smartly dressed, happy to help, cheerful. Worth a visit again.

Supercar weekend was brilliant despite the rain. We saw all of our favorite cars and also went around the palace house, which is included with your entry tickets and really nice. Pay in advance for the cheaper option tickets. There is so much to see and do there if your car lover then definitely go! Food stalls on the special weekends are on the expensive side, the restaurant was really busy, picnic are great when it's not raining. Great for kids and families, it's our second visit, and we we're not disappointed at all.

Lots more to see here than just cars. The house (Palace) is very interesting and the grounds are extensive, there's the monorail and an old bus to go on. A lovely walk from the Mill Pond. Large cafe, kids play area and a collection of vehicles from Top Gear. Some bits are a little dated, but a great day out, we'll worth a visit even the cars are actually interesting for everyone 😀

Great day out with just about enough for one and half days or far longer if we read everything. Entry cost is correct to so don't put the prices up! The food portion size/quality/cost were bang on but I think the selection could be extended a little. Also the restaurant staff appeared to either new or inexperienced however it wasn't a problem. PS: great idea adding little beaulieu.

Loads to see, beautiful gardens with sculpture and a walled kitchen garden. Fascinating motor museum with many iconic vehicles, great Top Gear and TV/movie car exhibitions, and I really enjoyed the monorail ride over the site giving aerial views.

Such a full day, we stayed way longer than we expected as there're so many things to see. Personal highlight was the falconry training session, absolutely fascinating and unique. The Museum is vast but very well curated with everything looking beautiful and no busyness. There were a few cars I would have liked some more specific information about, such as their life before the museum, because i like a few memorable stories. Loved the land speed section. The grounds were a little busy and hectic with sculptures when we visited, but we could still find calm looking over the water near the palace.

Visited during half term week, it was a wet day but always wanted to visit. There was a good selection of cars but we were expecting more having visited other similar types of museum. The house was nice and the monorail was interesting. No specific events on while we were there.

A wonderful mix of museum, stately home, TV history and places to explore. The museum was a great size with a range of vehicles of all ages in excellent condition, the restaurant was priced as they generally are at these places but the food was at a high quality. Went on an open top bus ride, a monorail ride through the museum, the kids played in a large adventure playground, we explored the house and gardens and finished with a gentle walk around the edge of the river. A reasonable price for tickets also made for an excellent day out for all!

What a great day out!! We went to the Jaguar day with our car and really enjoyed the setup, including the munorail, museum, Top Gear, and Beaulieu House. Plenty to do and see and lots of places to eat and drink and buy souvenirs. Great for families. Good value for money at Beaulieu

The No Time To Die exhibition is great & much better than I expected with numerous costumes, props and vehicles from the movie. The National Motor Museum has an amazing selection of historical cars from the early 1900s and some great classics from the 60s & 70s etc as well as the legendary Bluebird and several other British land speed vehicles in an impressive mini exhibition. Beaulieu has friendly staff, a decent shop & restaurant. The monorail, Beaulieu abbey, estate grounds and gardens are all very impressive. There is also Little Beaulieu adventure park for kids. Beaulieu is a legendary place that you should definitely visit. Suggestions: Some of the doors and buildings need replacing/ modernising. It's a bit cold in the National Motor Museum and there was birds muck (indoors) in places which had not been cleaned up. It may be better if the monorail does not go inside the museum in future.

Beaulieu is still a great place to visit. Especially if it's your first time. The cars are fun to see and some of the history as you follow the exhibits is really special. Some downsides are that I feel many areas are due a refresh. Parts of the museum look a little tired. Much of it hasn't changed in decades. In some ways it's nice for personal nostalgia but on the whole, updating is needed. The canteen in my view also needs improving. I felt the food was expensive for what you get, and we were kept waiting a long time. Perhaps a system to separate coffee and hot food, from cold drinks and snacks would help. Also dining area seating was lacking if wet outside. Anyhow, overall, still a very enjoyable place to visit! The grounds are fantastic too as are the staff. Many thanks.

This is my first visit to this magnificent museum since the 1990s, and what a change for the better. Myself and my daughter specifically went to see the bond in motion exhibition and it was fantastic to get up close and personal with the cars , bikes and gadgets from the latest No time to die bond movie. It was superb to see all new displays and exhibits and we even had a ride on the monorail which gave us a bids eye view on the museum and grounds of the Montague estate.

Not having visited for 25yrs, I was delighted to return with my own family. Great value for money. Loved the car exhibitions, the beautiful gardens & house & thoroughly enjoyed watching the super cars! Didn't take advantage of food & drink as we had our own but there seemed to be plenty of stalls as well as the restaurant. Good clean facilities & despite the crowds, queues weren't too long.

Initially thought the £26 per adult was a but steep. However for what we got it is excellent value. The car museum is fantastic even if your not a petrol head. The tour of the Abbey and Country Home are very good too. We enjoyed our food in the restaurant too. It took us 6 hours to see most things on offer. Worth a visit.

Visited for the first time in over 10 years and greatly enjoyed! Got discounted entry as had a blue light card and were impressed with the ticket becoming an annual ticket (for museum) as we added gift aid. Museum had so many different vehicles in, we easily spent close to 2 hours walking round. Other exhibitions were good too, particularly enjoyed the Cars on Screen one. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning again and soon!

This was a lovely day out with my grandson, with lots for him to see and do. He really enjoyed the children's play area, riding on the old open top bus and going on the monorail. Had lunch in the restaurant there, which was pleasant although like most places like this, it was a bit expensive. The collection of cars and motor bikes in the museum is amazing and the village is also quaint and lovely.

Such an amazing place for car enthusiasts, house enthusiasts and families just after a place to go. Give gift aid and you get free entry for a year. My son has additional needs and at entry the staff made sure to check what any issues where and if they could assist in anyway. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

Absolutely beautiful place and a really enjoyable day. Staff made sure all the traffic moved smoothly and the gardens were fantastic. Auto jumble didn't disappoint either. The top gear exhibit has made me promise the kids I'll take them with me next time.

Amazing experience in the National Motor Museum. Fabulous collection of cars and motorbikes from the oldest known to modern ones. The queue to the monorail ride wasn’t big and there was no need to wait for too long. The gardens are fantastic and well-maintained. We also enjoyed the visit to the House, gatehouse Exhibition and Abbey.

We visited on fathers Day, and they had an American car show on. It was really well organised with plenty of staff to deal with all the extra visitors. There's lot's to see even without the show. The main display centre inside has loads to see with lots of interactive displays. The house is great to look around to see the history of the site. Unfortunately, the gardens are a letdown in need of a lot of maintenance. They used to be really spectacular, but I think they have faced budget cuts. Your ticket gets you an annual pass, which is great.

Very good exhibits in the National Motor Museum but little interactivity I.e. a lot of reading but little hands-on experience. A portable audio guide would be useful or a bar-code/scan responsive audio-visual guide. "Museum" doesn't have to mean no new technology. BTW I am 72 years old. Also an appalling lack of toilet facilities. None in the museum and only 2 locations across the whole attraction of many acres. More locations necessary to avoid having to exit the museum several times during my lengthy visit. Liked the Special Operations Executive exhibition too but again quite static and not as engaging/involving as it could be. Too much reading required. Nevertheless a fascinating history. Overall a good quality attraction but could do better.

Beautiful clean well kept grounds. The car Museum was excellent. A great selection of cars all well maintained. The collections are nicely set up. The TV cars, Top Gear Show Cars. The main building is divided into multiple sections, from the first horseless carriage to race cars. There is an amazing section that includes the history and collection of Motorcycles. Simply amazing collection. Not to be missed. The Monorail is fun for kids of all ages. As is the double Decker Replica Bus.

Top gear show somewhat disappointing. Main car experience is far smaller than I’d hoped for. Gardens not at their best (seasonal), house impressive if that’s your thing. For me, the best part of my day was the pond walk. I loved the tree carving and the walk itself was beautiful. I’m sure the children will enjoy the monorail.

Great day out. Wear your best walking shoes as you'll need them. Mostly accessible. Restaurant not too expensive. Toilets clean. Need around 6 hours to get everything. Pay in advance (with gift aid) and you get a free annual pass to return. Great vegan ice cream options.

Enjoyed a step back in time having visited with my grandad 35 odd years ago, now returning with my kids and their grandad. The exhibits were OK but a little lacking in order and felt like it should have been expanded some time ago. I enjoyed it but wouldn't be in any hurry to return, which is a shame as it was such a highlight as a kid, no matter how many times we came back!

What a great place to spend a day out with the family. It offers something for everyone. The museum has amazing collections of cars which we all enjoyed, little ones loved the train ride and playground and the gardens are just wonderful. We were lucky to see a huge collection of sculptures spread around the gardens which is only a temporary exhibition. The day tickets are a bit pricy but the overall experience is lovely.

I brought my young family here and we loved every minute of it. The cars on show are exhibited with great thought and care and all looked fantastic! Kids loved the adventure area and monorail. Genuinely enjoyed our day here and will be coming back next year!!

A fun day out for all the family with lots to see and do on site. If you want to see all the site then you will need a full day we left just before closing. If you time it right you can get straight on the onsite bus for a brief ride to the abbey. Also take a ride on the monorail to get an idea of what the site has to offer. Also take a look at the Top gear exhibition. It's not just motor vehicles you can see here, take a look at the house and grounds take in a falconry display and enjoy the sculptures on display. Things to note: - Parking is ample and free :-) - if you gift aid your entry ticket you can get an annual pass and future visits will be a small top up to access the whole site. No top up is needed if you just want to visit the museum and restaurant. - toilets are located under the restaurant and at the far end by the abbey.

It doesn't look big but it's got a massive selection of cars and bikes. Everything is a 10 minute walking distance away from each other, has cafe & restaurants and a gift shop. The inclusion of the Top Gear "museum" is a really nice touch.

What a great day out! Plenty to see and do. We went on a Super Car weekend... All the fields were full of cars. Visited Palace House and saw the Top Gear display. There are gardens to walk around and also a Sculpture Exhibition.. Plenty of picnic areas.. A great family day out.

This is a must visit place. There is so much to see and do. Museum, House, Abbey plus lots of other stuff. Buy tickets online in advance as they are cheaper. We spent nearly 6 hours here, so you get your money worth. There is also a large restaurant to eat in and large play area for children.

  • 3/5 Nick G. 2 years ago on Google
The exhibitions were wonderful. The oy down side was that whilst they say they are dog friendly they are only allowed on the grounds and not in the museum itself. They expect you to tie your dog up outside! No way that's happening. Anyway, as I say, the exhibits were wonderful. We'll worth a look

  • 4/5 Mike D. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing place, superb interesting selection of cars, special exhibitions (Top Gear vehicles currently) as well as gardens, play area and an amazing house and sculptures. On top of that there is a great old school monorail and a old bus to ride around on! It's not cheap but worth it and your entry lasts 12 months. (If gift aided) Only negative was the "restaurant" - massively overpriced for really, really poor quality food. I'd highly recommend taking a picnic. If the restaurant was upped in quality it would hit 5 stars for us. Visited with 3 adults, 5 year old and 2 year old

A fun day out. The top gear exhibition is excellent, see the trio's amphibious cars, the ski jumping mini, the Track-tor and Mr Nippy electric ice cream/ bangers and mash truck. The only bad point I found is the cars are packed in like sardines In the main motor museum. An area upstairs had an interactive element but the area was not accessible. Food in the restaurant was expensive and not of a high quality to justify the price in my opinion. The garden was a nice area to walk with lots of bees busy pollinating. The one way system in the palace worked well and some of the current sculptures were bold and eye catching. I'm the gift shop I felt left out because I don't own a VW camper. Great for car enthusiasts in general as a day out but I'm not sure I'd be back too soon

Brilliant place for a motoring & car enthusiast to spend a day. Also complimented by the Montague's house to look around along with the gardens. Enjoyed the Top Gear display even though I'm not the biggest fan of the (new) show and the Art Russe which was about as far removed from anything motoring related as you can get but opened my eyes to something different. Decent quality food available in the Brabazon restaurant which we enjoyed. Helpful, polite and courteous staff. So much to see and read you would probably need a good few days to take it in. Would definitely visit again.

Really impressed with my visit here. Loads to see on one ticket; motor museum, world of top gear, abbey, manor, gardens, lake, walks, monorail etc. Plus, we can return all year on the same ticket. Toilets and café were clean, all staff were helpful. Areas like the motor museum had thought put in with an excellent one way system which ensured you don't miss bits, and is also better for covid. Plenty of evidence they put a lot of thought too into making it accessible, ramps, lifts etc, or signs at the abbey and on the walk to show routes without steps and step slopes.

We loved it but only managed the car bit. We got what we thought was an annual pass so we would come back to do the house. Sadly you have to pay extra on top of the pass as it only includes the car museum. Had we have realised we would have done the house first. Definitely recommend if you love cars.

A really good day out for all the family, there is a large play area for the children. The museum has cars & motorbikes from different eras there is also racing vehicle & luxurious cars. They also have an exhibit for cars featured in films. There is also a large section in the museum housing a lot of the Top Gear projects cars. You can also ride on the monorail to get a bird's eye view of the exhibits.

The motor museum was very well laid out and had a fantastic variety of old and new vehicles. There was much to see and the exhibits were extremely well designed. Unfortunately outside the museum the monorail was not working, the secret army exhibition was closed. The Beaulieu Abbey ruins and Palace House were interesting and included in the admission fee. So much to see but not quite so much to do!

  • 5/5 Steve C. 2 years ago on Google
Been wanting to visit Beaulieu for ages. As we are in Dorset for a few days and it's closer to here than it is from home we just had to. Amazing cars. Amazing grounds. And very interesting Palace and abbey very informative took the bus round and the monorail which was an experience lol. If I had to give some constructive feedback I would say that it is very overwhelming which is a good thing but too much to read and take in for one day.

Museum has a wide range of automobiles and well exhibited, suitable for car fans of any era. Was lucky enough to see the James Bond No Time to Die exhibition where film cars are shown to us. Chosing the gift aid ticket options gives you an annual pass of the museum, very good value for money!

  • 5/5 Helen B. 10 months ago on Google
Must visit museum, it’s such a gem! Never heard of this museum until a friend from Southampton recommended this place. It definitely took us by surprise and would happily visit again. Those interested in vehicles will not be disappointed. The highlight was seeing the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car in real life. This brought back so many childhood memories! You can easily spend over three hours here so it’s well worth the visit. I would’ve loved it even more if they sold toy replicas of the classic old cars in the gift shop, other than that we had a wonderful time. You can ride their monorail and bus which are all walking distance to get to.

We visited here as part of my birthday and found it a worthwhile trip. The monorail was out of action, but this did not spoil our day as there was plenty to see in and around the grounds. The only area that I think needed some attention was the World of Top Gear section, as some the cars had rust and cobwebs over them. All in all a great day out and staff were very polite. We claimed gift aid on our entrance ticket and by doing so were given a free 12 month pass to the museum - so very worthwhile doing!

Absolutely fantastic day out if you love cars. The Top Gear exhibition is great and had some of the cars from the shows. The motor museum is excellent and currently has some of the cars from the new Bond movie, No Time To Die.

Haven't been here for ages, but had a super day combined with The Artisan Christmas Fair. Fabulous display of Christmas trees in the Palace. The Motor Museum is very interesting. The cars are immaculate and great to see cars from the latest Bond Film. Enjoyed the monorail ride and everything else that is on offer. Spent 6 hours seeing it all thoroughly with the odd stop for refreshments in the cafe!!

Great afternoon out with my mum and my girls. My teenagers are F1 fans and loved all the cars. I enjoyed seeing the progression of the motorcar through its history. We enjoyed the Bond car display too and the other film and TV cars. The monorail was a lovely bit of fun too. And we loved the Alice in Wonderland topiary in the gardens. If only it had been a warm day! We didn't go to the house or abbey, and only had drinks at the café. Booking in advance gets you a decent discount.

Had a brilliant day out here, so much to see and do. Everything is well maintained and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed it all and we're fortunate it was a beautiful day and not too many visitors. Paticularly enjoyed the James Bond exhibits and the monorail.

Excellent day out. It would have been a 5* review if it wasn't for the massively overpriced and in some cases very poor food. Cars and bikes were excellent as was the abbey, playground and palace. Recommended but bring a picnic

Brilliant day out for the family and not just those interested in cars. Free trips on the monorail and the old London bus great for kids. We took a picnic and sat under a big old tree in the shade. There is a nice restaurant where we had a coffee and ice cream. 5 star day out made better as the sun shone all day.

A great fulfilling day out, however I was left rather underwhelmed by two features: 1) James Bond, the display was very small and cramped, from the description on your website I was expecting more 2) Cars from the screen, this seemed pointless and to me, did not achieve anything. Positives (which far outweigh the negatives): 1) I needed more time, this is testament to the quality of the total offering Museum, House, Gardens, Monorail and Bus real value for money :) 2) Main Motor Museum was really well presented with a lot of interesting information 3) Top Gear Display, loved it - well displayed and set out with good information and the short film 4) House Great to experience staff/volunteers in character with their own story line. The 'greeter' who was the aspiring potential love interest in a footman, real inspiration and equally extremely knowledgeable, a real treasure for Beaulieu 5) Monorail and Historic bus rides included in admission fee, other attractions should learn from this. 6) Excellent gardens, really enjoyed the Mad Hatters Tea Party 7) Gatehouse Exhibition on Russian Art, I for one am very pleased you did not hide this away due to the conflict in Ukraine, thank you. 8) The Abbey looked as though it would have been most interesting, but time prevented exploring :(

Great big grounds, I loved the museum, loads of cool vehicles and I loved the top gear part, was my favourite. Manor house was really nice, delicious cookies in the shop which didn't make it back to the car. Definitely was worth the money, will definitely go again. Lovely cafe on sight, nice coffee and cake.

Fabulous place to visit,, The museum was amazing with some fantastic cars and bikes on display. The house is worth a visit too, the gardens and Abbey was lovely to walk around, and even sit by the river with the house behind you. The top gear attraction is good for the car nuts,, great to see the actual cars the used. All in all a great day out.

I visited the National Motor Museum when I was a child. I've been back 4 times since then and each time there's something new. It's a lovely place to see the history of vehicles and to enjoy the beautiful gardens of the house. Parking is free, check website for entry fee to the museum, monorail and bus rides are usually included in ticket price. There's a wonderful play area for children, based on a fort (mind your head) a Top Gear area full of the cars they used and abused and other events held on a regular basis in the summer months.
