It has been a while that I have decided to do a laser eye surgery on my eyes. I am 33 and My eyesight is 4.75 D with -0.50 astigmatism. I have done the primary investigation two times before around 4 and 6 years ago, and I was eligible to do it but every time I was scared at the last moment. This time, I have convinced myself to do it and live without glasses. Living with glasses also has its own risks, so I would like to take a small risk of this surgery. However, I am confused about where to do this operation, in which clinic and which doctor. There is no way to find a good eye doctor, or in general, any kind of doctor, whom you can trust unless you look at the google reviews especially for the foreign people like me. Ironically, the google reviews, in my opinion, could be fake as well yet it is the start point of my investigation. After looking around, I noticed that your clinic has a good reputation among some others. However, I would like to ask some questions and I would expect you honestly reply to my review. I think the answers could help me and maybe some other people to make a good decision and hence if the answers appear to be convincing you can get more customers as well. I want to do the smile surgery, of course after consulting with the doctor, because it seems to be the best option and less side effect. I have seen several videos of this surgery in YouTube. The laser part which seems to be scarier is the easy part I guess, thanks to the German laser machine which all the clinic have one of them. But the second part when the doctor tries to take out the thin layer out of your eyes is really scary and the results can depend on the surgeon's agility and experience. 1) Is there any video of your live surgery available in YouTube? Suppose I chose you to do the surgery and I ask you to record the whole operation? would you accept that? 2) I saw some of the clinics guarantee their service for two years, for example, ww.eyecenter.be. What does that mean? does it mean if second or third operations would be needed they accept to do for free? Do you have such a policy in your clinic? 3)Is there any database or a public source that we can see the success rate or your operations and maybe compare it to others? can you tell us how many smile operations you have done so far? For example, I saw somewhere someone was complaining that he has to drop artificial tears for the rest of his life after the surgery every half an hour. Something like this ever happened to you? 4) Is there any differences between the laser machine that does this surgery, or almost all the clinics use the same brand and version. If there is a difference, could you please let us know which brand and version you use and when did you buy it and how often you update or change it with a newer version? 5)After the surgery, rubbing the eyes is prohibited. I am scared to do it when I sleep. Is there any solution for it? like a hard musk or protector that I can use at night for three weeks? 6)In general, I am wondering why this operation is this expensive (not only in your clinic but in general)? once you buy the machine and you do the operation in less than 5 minutes what are the costs? Is there any kind of insurance that covers some part of the cost? P.S. I will change the rate later based on the response of the owner.

Had a wonderful experience at "Goes Oogcentrum". Very professional team of experts and Dr. Drank Goes Jr. went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I came from the U.S. to undergo the Femtolasik surgery, and can't say enough positive things about my experience. It's only been a few days since my surgery, and I am able to perform all activities without any difficulty. The evening of the operation I was already watching TV, and the next day I was riding the bike around town. I'm seeing better than ever thanks to Dr. Goes and his team!

So here I am at my PC writing a review, switching from looking at my screen to out the window at the sun as spring arrives in Belgium. And I'm doing this without contact lenses or glasses but with perfect vision and I still can't quite believe it! I cannot thank Dr Goes Jr and his excellent team enough for this life-changing event. I had ICL (Implantable Collamer Lenses) surgery on 14 and 15 February (one eye each day) and by the 16th I was driving and marvelling at my vision - look no lenses! I've never read so many car number plates in my life :-) The procedure was quick and painless, the staff competent and reassuring. Dr Goes Jr is confident, composed and in control, a consummate professional, and exactly what you want in an eye surgeon. From the first tests, to treatment recommendation (in my case ICL over laser), information sent in advance on exactly what to expect and the surgery itself, he explained everything clearly every step of the way. I deeply appreciate that we could do that in English (and talk with the staff in French too). I have been nearsighted all my adult life, with astigmatism, and susceptible to dry eye. I increasingly found lenses bothersome and inconvenient and while I liked my glasses, with an active lifestyle and lots of work travel this will be a game changer. I'm so delighted with the results which have exceeded all my expectations. I can unreservedly recommend Dr Goes Jr and the team at the Goes Eye Centre. Thank you. You've changed my life.

Edit2: Since reaching out directly to the eye center and Dr. Goes I've received a reply and resolution of the issue. He has refunded for the additional visit and the trial lenses. I went to this office to get a new prescription for both my glasses and contact lenses. I was given my glasses prescription but my contact lens prescription was withheld. Prior to going, I called the office and asked if I needed to bring anything with me. They said only my residency card but when I arrived the Doctor wanted my old contact lens prescription. Frustrating. I was told to come back for another appointment where I would try their trial contact lenses. The reasoning behind it was unclear: along the lines of they needed to make sure the cylinder was correct or that the contact lens fit correctly. It really wasn't clear and I left not understanding. However, my current contacts fit fine so there was no issue with the size. I only needed an updated prescription. Second visit, different doctor, basic questions about contact storage, cleaning, etc. I tried the trial lenses. Twice I had to ask for my contact lens prescription before they gave it to me. I had to pay an addition 60 Euros for a visit I didn't need for trial contacts I didn't ask for. Overall: Know exactly what you need and don't be steered to pay more money to solve problems you don't have. Edit: Dropping a star. Just got a bill for the trial contact lenses. An additional 30 Euros.

I had an ICL surgery in Goes Eye Center. I don't know if I can recommend Dr. Goes and his team enough. The whole process went very smoothly and the operation was successful. I am very thankful.

I thought about doing laser surgery for a long time, as I had to wear glasses or contact lenses for the last 15 years. I knew from the first moment on that I'm in very good hands at the Goes Oogcentrum. very thorough examination! The scheduling of the operation was very easy. On the day of the operation the team was helpful. The whole procedure was very professional and lasted only for a short time. I felt no pain at all. Thanks to the experienced team around Dr. Goes everything went great. Already in the evening of the day of the operation my eyesight was quite good, and it generally improved very quickly in the next days. I can really recommend Goes Oogcentrum to anyone, who is looking for a safe and professional laser treatment.

SMILE Lasertreatment Had around -4 on both of my eyes before treatment. The first session they checked which treatment would suit me best, and one week later I could have my eyes lasered already. They gave me plenty of information and showed me a video of the SMILE laserprocedure beforehand so I knew what I was getting into. The surgery only took about 15minutes and was not painful or scary, I’d say irritating at most. The day itself my vision was pretty blurred but every hour or so it got a lot better. The day after there is a short checkup to make sure everything is okay, by the end of the week my vision should be restored 100% The staff was always very friendly and professional, making sure you feel comfortable at all times. I would definitely go there again.
