This is a true hidden gem in Antwerp. Not so many people know about this and I honestly don’t mind. These are very tiny small streets running through several buildings and houses connecting 2 bigger streets. There are benches here, just come here to sit and watch this gorgeous beauty!

(Translated by Google) If you are in Antwerp, then this is really worth it to walk through. It is not only beautiful to see, but there are also a few beautiful restaurants with such a beautiful decoration! And the atmosphere brings you back to the feeling of the past, wonderful how I love such alleys, so photogenic! Really sure do!

(Translated by Google) The "secret" vlaaiekengang or vlaeykensgang is a 16th century alley in the historic center of Antwerp. Along the cobblestone paths there are a total of eleven authentic back houses, which are mainly made of brick and sandstone. The poorest once lived here. The name vlaaiekensgang comes from a pie and waffle house that used to be there. In the alley you can also find "Den Grooten Baars", a striking stone from the 19th century, which probably comes from an Antwerp bridge that has since disappeared. The entrance to the vlaaikensgang is located on the Oude Koornmarkt, but it is best to take the exit in the Pelgrimstraat just at the Grote Markt or you are looking for an accident. Shoemakers used to live here who also set the emergency bells of the Our Lady's Cathedral had to ring (Original) De " geheime " vlaaiekengang of vlaeykensgang is een 16 de - eeuws steegje in het historisch centrum van Antwerpen.

Stunning place right in the centre of Antwerp is the Vlaeykensgang. It’s a unique location hidden between two streets close to the Antwerp cathedral and dates since 1591. You can find this little alley by going through the gate at Oude Koornmarkt 16. Enter and step into a different era. It used to be the shoemakers area but these days you’ll find little galleries, antique shops and a famous restaurant.
