We were lucky enough to score a sunny moment in our most recent rain deluge. The food was epic and the best part was their extensive cocktail and non alcoholic cocktails. Luke and Amanda were lovely hosts and very knowledgeable!

We came here with our 5 yo and 3 yo girls and had an excellent overall experience. The food was super delicious, had a good selection of wine and the site was beautiful and we were able to take lovely family photos after the meal. We had for entree the pork belly and prawns; the duck and steak for mains; and crepes for desert. Every course was perfectly done and very delicious; and plus they had the Tempus Two Moscato which was a delight for my wife. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Hunter Valley on a special occasion.

I had an unforgettable surprise dinner at Amanda's on the Edge in the Hunter Valley. Every dish was exceptional, with the desserts being a standout. Our friendly waitress even agreed to capture the entire surprise proposal. As I was snapping photos of the beautiful desserts, my Fiancé surprised me with the engagement ring. I must say, the was the highlight of the night, but everything was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the fish had a delightful blend of flavors and spices. The starters were also delicious, and the menu offered a wide variety of options. The wine selection was superb, and we enjoyed several bottles that night.

We were lucky enough get a table very last minute. Walked in for dinner in winter time, warm smells of woods and fire place. The whole place is warm and relaxing. They only have 3 staffs on the night, but they are all very attentive! We were well look aftered and food were served right on time for each dish. Suggest not to squeeze the lime in the prawn pasta, I’ll say it’s more like a decor as the dish is already very well seasoned. Can just remove the lime as accidentally added it in the dish and became little too sour. Entree live paste was a delight! Desserts were a great finished for the night. Will definitely recommend Amanda to friends!

A fabulous restaurant experience from start to finish. A great outlook to enjoy a cocktail before lunch on the lawn, relaxing at tables by the vines. We enjoyed a delicious long lunch in a group of 6 people. The most challenging part of dining here is what to choose to eat as all of the options sounded amazing. I really enjoyed my choices yesterday- the crab and snapper ravioli, Sirloin with black garlic with potatoes and beans and to finish I had the baked caramel with waffle and pistachio ice cream - everything was absolutely amazing. The wines included in the set lunch option were very good and complimented the food perfectly. Amanda and her husband do an awesome job running this great restaurant. We absolutely loved Amanda’s on the edge and we will be back.

My partner and I tried the $110 special set menu both regular and the vegetarian menu. The meal came with a free bottle of wine to share. The atmosphere was great and the staff was very attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our dinner here. The duck was very tender and delicious with the plum sauce. Their vegetarian menu was also really nice, it would be nice to see it developed further :)

We weren't the only patrons to have trouble deciding what to select from the extensive, and refreshing, menu choices. Exceptionally tasty food, beautifully presented and served by knowledgeable and attentive staff. The wine selection is obviously chosen to reflect some of the best of the Hunter and match well with your choice of food. The location and aspect is perfect for a lazy lunch or dinner amongst the Hunter Valley vineyards.

We loved our lunch! Beautiful setting and really relaxing. Food was incredible. Service was also good and staff very welcoming and accommodating. Food was a bit delayed in coming out but that didn’t bother us as you don’t go there for an in and out meal. We really loved our experience and will definitely be back.

We have been to Amanda’s before and I picked this restaurant for my birthday dinner last night because we knew it was lovely. It did not disappoint. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It feels like you are dining in someone’s lovely home. The food was amazing. We loved every bite of all three courses. The attention to detail even stretched to having Happy Birthday written in chocolate on my dessert plate. We would highly recommend this as not to be missed if you visit the Hunter Valley. We will certainly be back. Thank you for making my birthday memorable.

An amazing spot with beautiful grounds, charming cottage feel, first class service from Amanda and all her staff, and the food was seriously delicious; a kaleidoscope of flavours and textures. The salmon melted in the mouth, topped off with a wafer thin crunchy skin strip. The prawn linguini dish is a must have and so too the crepe and brule deserts. A great place to have dined in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful service, delicious food, nice location, just need slightly more comfortable chairs to settle in for 2 hours. Would definitely go back again though.

We booked Amanda's for my sisters small COVID wedding. She got married on the grounds next to the beautiful vineyard, had photos on the grounds as well, and then we had a beautiful 3 course meal. Arranging things with Amanda was so easy, and the staff, particularly Marcia were so helpful, friendly and lovely. I'd recommend anyone to consider having their function at Amanda's, or even just pop in for a beautiful lunch or dinner.

Can I suggest an option with the “3-course and free bottle” is a allowing the customers to choose one of the many fine wines from the region. Overall I would recommend the dining experience to anyone seeking fantastic food.

Great service and lovely staff. The food was delicious as was the wine. The atmosphere was great and the outlook across the vineyards very good. A perfect night out for my wife's birthday!

Beautiful food, service and ambiance. It was my partner and I's first time, and we loved it. I loved the special touch for my partners birthday. We will be back for sure. I am so grateful to have beautiful restaurants like Amanda's Edge on our doorstop in the Hunter Valley. Thank you :-)

Came here for a family lunch and we were all extremely happy with the service and meals. There was something for everyone on this menu, food was delicious and well presented. Location is gorgeous looking out to the vineyards. Plenty of GF options, highly recommend 🙌🏽

Amanda’s on the Edge had been on the To Do list for a number of years and Friday lunch was the day! The set menu had 6 items for each course to choose from and they covered all food/diet groups. There were 3 of us dining so we were all able to choose something different. We were also able to sample taste each others meal and none of us could fault a dish! The flavours were amazing and every dish was cooked to perfection with plating detail photographic. There were about 8 tables of between 2 and 10 dining and the service was spot on. The wait time between dishes was just right and you never waited for a glass refill or to speak to one of the 2 waitstaff if you had any requests. The tables and chairs can sometimes let a restaurant down however the table size at Amanda’s was the perfect amount of room for 3 dining and we didn’t notice the chairs which means they befitted the experience. Being a lunch experience we had views out towards to vines and the fields with kangaroos bounding across our sightline. All in all Amanda’s on the Edge was an excellent dining experience and we would certainly recommended this restaurant. We will return.

Came for lunch recently. Greeted and seated by attentive and friendly staff. Had gnocchi with mushrooms and king prawns for entrees which were both delicious. My partner could have eaten several bowls of the prawns as they were that good. Main we had the chicken curry which was fantastic and the prawn linguine which was good but not as good as the previous dishes. For dessert we had the sticky pudding which was perfection. Although I wasn't a fan of the crepe. Lovely view and kangaroos resting nearby which was a treat. Overall a great experience and some really good food. Would recommend.

Hands down the best place to eat my hubby's steak was exactly how he likes it my entrees and dinner was amazing and the desert was next level. The icecream was the smoothest most delicious icecream I've ever tasted! Thanks so much for an enjoyable night we will be back!

What a beautiful spot to dine in!! We went to Amanda’s for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and it certainly did not disappoint. To begin with the place is beautiful and so cozy, the service is amazing, the staff looked after us and were so friendly. The food was next level, everything was cooked to perfection, and served in perfect timing, not long waits and no rushing. We had the gnocchi and pork belly to start with, linguini with prawns and steak as mains and for dessert crème brûlée and Hungarian crepes, simply amazing. We will definitely go again and try some of the other dishes next time we are in The Hunter Valley.

  • 5/5 Jacinta M. 1 year ago on Google
We had a great 3 course meal. Every dish was perfect. Very intimate setting, it's like you are dining in their home. Staff were attentive but not too much, which is what we like. The steak was cooked perfectly & the duck was so good. We cannot wait to return next time we are in The Hunter.

Great night - Great food - Great wine - Great service Started early with a 5.30 booking Wed. The set price menu offered decent options ($120.00 p/p, 3 course meal, incl a bottle of wine) Staff were wonderful. Food was well presented and you wont leave hungry. All meals were delicious. The ricotta gnocchi entre, one of the best we have ever had. The three times cooked duck was also a highlight. We drank the "very drinkable" (and recommended) Amanda's on the Edge wines on offer. Both the Chardonnay - a glass each to start plus a bottle of Amanda's Shiraz. Prices charged for additional glass of chardonnay ordered was very fair (BTW Amanda wines made by Comyns & Co) Based on the night 5/5 Thank You!

My partner and I were after somewhere special to celebrate our anniversary and we found it here at Amanda's On The Edge. Warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. Service was attentive, friendly, prompt and just the right amount of interaction. The food, OMG it was amazing. We both just loved the quality and taste of each of the three meals. My pork belly entrée was deliciouly tender with crispy crackling on top. The Scotch Fillet main was the best cooked steak I have had in years. Juicy and melted in your mouth. I would also have to say that Crème Brûlée dessert being my choice of dessert when ever we go out, that this serving was the best I have ever had. It is the little things that also add to an exceptional experience and we were delighted at how they took note that it was our anniversary and wrote a lovely little chocolate sauce message on our dessert plate. We are so impressed with the visit last night that we have being happily recommending the venue to our family and friends plus popped an Instagram post up to spread the word that if you are after somewhere special or celebrating an occasion then this is the resturant to book. We will be back.

I took my partner here for her birthday, all I can say is exceptional! Service was on point, with a great atmosphere. The shining star was the food. We both enjoyed our meals immensely. I had the pork belly, which was delicious, so moist with perfect crackling. For mains I had the steak, which would probably have to be the best steak I have ever had at a restaurant. For dessert I had the maple pudding wich again was amazing. My partner had the crab and snapper ravioli, followed up with the duck and finally the chocolate mousse, which she loved all three dishes. My partner's dessert even included birthday wishes. We are definitely going to be back again and would recommend to anyone.

We had an amazing anniversary lunch with friends. Every meal was outstanding, especially the desserts. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. She also left us to be at the end of lunch so we could enjoy the experience and not feel like we were “rushed out the door”. A fantastic place for a special lunch as a couple or with friends.

Can't believe I've been to the Hunter many times, but only experienced Amanda's for the first time this past weekend. Everything was fantastic. My husband accidentally booked the wrong night, but staff were incredibly accommodating and rebooked us for the correct night. We had a beautiful table overlooking the vineyard. The food was superb, the best we've ever had in the Hunter. Absolutely recommend the dumplings! We even took a jar of the chilli home with us, it was delicious. Service was fantastic and quick, and it was lovely to support a family-owned business in the Valley. My husband and I left absolutely raving about our experience. Definitely the first visit of many more!

What a charming little restaurant!! Set in a cosy little cottage looking out over the vineyards, just beautiful. The restaurant itself has quite a casual, low-key vibe. The food, however is rustic meets fine dining. Just perfect! Couldn't fault the food, service, wine or venue. First time in years that I actually got a medium steak when I ordered a medium steak. Really lovely and my partner and I can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night. The ambiance and great feel of the restaurant was evident from our arrival. The service was very attentive and the food exceptional. The menu choices were varied, and we could have ordered any one of the offerings without too much prompting. Overall a great experience and would recommend without hesitation.

The food here is absolutely delicious, you will not be disappointed! The service was just as amazing and the location is perfect. My only disappointment is that I’m not a local who can enjoy visiting this restaurant as often as I would like, there are so many other dishes I look forward to trying! Well done to this business, truly a stand out.

Wonderful food and ambiance. Will definitely recommend and will be returning as soon as possible. They also welcomed our dog and we sat outside on the veranda with him. The waitress was very friendly and efficient.

Did not disappoint. Views, food, wine and service was excellent. Amanda took the time to seat us and make us feel very welcom. Each course was divine, paired with excellent wines and the staff were extremely accommodating! Had to wait a bit longer than expected for the entree, but apart from that, no glitches. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Setting was great, food was amazing and service was top notch. If you are looking for a great dining experience in the Hunter, you can not go past Amanda's restaurant. And the bottle of wine included in the price was a very nice surprise. Well done!

Amanda’s On The Edge consistently delivers on all fronts: excellent service, great setting and delicious food. My husband and I have been going to Amanda’s for 20 years and have never been let down. We love the fact that they have a separate vegetarian menu which includes a wide range of options. I highly recommend the spinach & tofu gyoza, they are to die for, and their creme brûlée is the best I’ve ever tasted.

Hi Amanda's on the edge team We were recommended to by the owners of Hunter River Retreats. ,so I booked dinner Friday night online. We had dinner at Amanda’s last weekend as part of a mini getaway and the food and service were sensational! We had the 3 course dinner and between us 6 different dishes and they were all amazing, couldn’t fault anything. The table we got had a lovely view across the vines, and the lady who looked after us (Marcia I believe) was great. Very friendly, fab service and a great experience all round. Would absolutely recommend a visit and I know we will be returning when we get the chance!

Terrific table service accompanied by mind blowing meals. The three course dinner was definitely worth the price. For the main I had the Salmon which was beautifully cooked. The chef worked absolute magic with the skin which left you full but desiring one more bite.

From start to finish, the staff at Amanda's were absolutely outstanding! They were friendly and welcoming and the food was so delicious. We went on Valentine's Day and it was a 3 course set menu. I had the crab and snapper ravioli (refer to photo) and it was the best entree I'd ever had...and we've been to a lot of fine dining places! Next time you visit the Hunter, dine at Amanda's if you want great food and service with a smile. A++

Went here for Valentine’s Day dinner. The entree and main course were very nice but rather small. 3 prawns for an entree didn’t impress, but the dessert was a disappointment. A small selection of desserts on one plate with 2 of them having no taste at all instead of the normal menu.
