Cool chair lift that brings you all the way to the other side. Too much to see and for some tracks you need to be pretty fit as there are steep climbs on some of them. At the beginning there is also a swimming pool that has a shallow toddler pool beside besides it. No dogs allowed. Parking is paid for $1 an hour to max 6 hours. Attractions close at 5 but the gorge stays open. BBQ hotplates and washing facilities available till 9pm.

This place needs to be looked at differently. There are multiple avenues to enjoy here. 1) stating the obvious, chair lift. It's wonderful. Worth the price and plenty of opportunity to enjoy nature 2) there is a full size swimming pool for family and kids to enjoy. Lifeguards present 3) lake is accessible for swim. It was beautiful pristine water on 30 degree day we went to. So awesome. Get some swim noodles for kids and enjoy. 4) multiple trails around to enjoy a walk. 5) food is availble at kiosk, but they can really slow to cope on a busy day. Enjoyed the fish and chips though. Wash rooms were dirty at the time, but we went on a 30 degree day so too many people around. Things were hectic. Beautiful Valley with lake and pool. Something for everybody.

This is a pleasant chairlift ride straight from the point of sale - such an enthusiastic ticket sales woman! When we got to the top, We saw many Wallabies and peacocks up close! It claims to be the world's longest single chairlift span. It costs $20 for return trip and $15 for pensioners.

What an absolutely amazing experience, we enjoyed our stay at this location so much so that we are compelled to complete and share our experience as early as within today. We cannot emphasise enough on the fact that how beautiful and quite this place is, even though there was a school trip. There is a huge parking space as you arrive at the location, followed by a ticket house just at the entrance. Ticket can be bought online or at the gate, prices vary depending on your circumstances. You can buy one way or return too. Amazing hiking trails 👣 if you are into walks. Also, you know what?! There are wallabies, peacock 🦚 and other native birds 🐦 here. Be nice to the lift operators & they can help you pat these animals 😉 Overall a great experience & will recommend for adults or kids. Great scenic chairlift over the gorge. Very smooth ride over but if you are afraid of heights this is probably not for you. Cost $15.00 one way or $20.00 return. I bought the return but did not use the chairlift back as the felt the walk back was mostly downhill and worth it to appreciate the scenery.

Well kept grounds, lots of peacocks. Toilets and places to eat as well as numerous easy walking tracks. Chairlift prices for one or both ways, family tickets available. Parking costs apply but like $6 for 8hrs or less for less.

Amazing views of the cataract gorge! One of the most memorable parts of my trip here. From up high, you get to see the full view of the gorge and the surrounding trails. Theres also some wallabies and peacocks to see when you land on the other side! Great if you're a photographer who moves fast!

It was worth the $16! The view from the lift is very beautiful and relaxing. The view from the lift is beautiful and relaxing, but a little scary when you pass over the pond on the way. The suspension bridge is also interesting. If you're by yourself, it doesn't sway much, but if there are a lot of other people, it sways a lot and is quite scary!

It seemed shorter than it seemed. We spent $16 per person for the return trip, which was a bit pricey, but I'm pleased I got to see the area from a high vantage point and snap photographs. I visited in the heat of January, so the weather was pleasant.

This is a really nice place to visit very close to the centre of Launceston! I’m so glad we visited! Chair lift was nice and relaxing! Really enjoyed a drink on the deck overlooking the water before heading back. Loved seeing the gorgeous peacocks and wallabies.

The chairlift is inexpensive and gives a good view from a higher vantage point. I personally wouldn't bother with it again... It's actually quicker to walk and you can stop and look as you go. At the very least I would suggest buying a one way ticket and walking back again.

Worth experiencing whilst in Launceston area. The staff are all wonderful and friendly and very accommodating of mobility issues. Cafe is great and whilst we were limited in time there was plenty to do and explore. I noticed in other photos the pool is clean which wasn't the case on our visit but it didn't take away from the experience.

A must-do whilst in Launceston! The chairlift ride over and back was great, gave you an amazing view of the whole area. The walks are well signposted and easy to do with the whole Gorge area being an amazing place to relax and explore.

This was a good bit of fun and you get good views over all of cataract gorge reserve and up and down the river. I’d recommend doing it only one way and take a walk back. It’s not far at all, there’s lots of options as far as waking goes. The chairlift is reasonably inexpensive for the novelty and views.

Scenic chairlift with a sense of adventure. The strong current in the river sure gives some thrill when one dangles over it in the chairlift. The local flora and fauna adds to the charm of the place. Definitely worth a visit given its closeness to the airport.
