šŸ˜  This facility abused, neglected and harmed my dog. If Iā€™d have not picked her up, Iā€™m afraid she would have died. I gave them a happy, well loved and cared for dog and they gave me back a zonked out, despondent shell of a dog. The hospital manager Alina is stonewalling, sidestepping, back-channelin... This facility abused, neglected and harmed my dog. If Iā€™d have not picked her up, Iā€™m afraid she would have died. I gave them a happy, well loved and cared for dog and they gave me back a zonked out, despondent shell of a dog. The hospital manager Alina is stonewalling, sidestepping, back-channeling. She is supporting and hiding the abuse and harm of animals as a hospital manager. Think about that. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED PET HERE!

I just wanna give Tempe lake another amazing shout out:). I am so blessed and grateful for them. Today they really saved my little boy Milo. My fur babies are my life, with out the doctors and the nurses there i donā€™t now what I would do. They treat my babies with the absolute best care. And my two love going to the vet! Thank you all for the love and care you have shown Milo and Ikeno!

My husband and I recently brought our newly adopted pup in for two appointments, and we had such great experiences! The staff at the front desk were so friendly and helpful, despite our dog barking up a storm in the lobby when dogs and people passed by. Dr. Joseph answered our questions professionally and created a calm and pleasant environment for our nervous pup. So glad that these experiences have made the vet a positive place for her!

Great staff all around. My dog Buck comes here nearly everyday for day camp. He sometimes gets a nail trim and a bath. His vet is here as well. The attendants behind the front desk and the technicians Buck plays with all day, know him well and treat him like their own. Buck comes home every night exhausted from playing at camp all day.Great quality care for the money, amazing hours (7AM to 7PM 7 days a week!) and a full-service location.

They are friendly and courteous. I made an appointment and didn't have to wait long. My dog Cash is 17 years old and his Doctor was Dr. Reid. That's his first name. He was excellent. The staff is really great too! They treat him well and make us comfortable. I'm always nervous taking him in to the vets, but this Vet Clinic is calming and they take time to explain everything. I highly recommend them to any dog parent.

I definitely won't be bringing my dogs to Tempe Lake Vet C and Pet Resort. I paid too much money for what my dogs received. I am very disappointed and don't recommend dogs lovers to bring them there for boarding. The regular runner is only designed for the handlers to clean it easy but not for the dogs to lay comfortably. There's a big canal in the middle that doesn't allow the dogs to lay flat on their bedding that I brought, which wasn't even used. They gave my dogs old rags, and in the only picture they sent in 9 days, my dogs look sad and helpless. My dogs feel secure sharing a kennel, but the runners they have are not designed well. The reports I got were the exact same for both dogs and not really accurate. Seems like the staff only copy/paste the reports. I'm really disappointed and I'm looking for a better boarding facility as we speak. Blaming the weather or an active dog is not what I want to hear. It's your business....do it right!

I have been taking my pup Patron here for over 2 years now and absolutely love it! The staff is so nice, friendly and caring with my pup. My dog has a big personality and can be a handful but the vets here do amazing every time he has a visit. We love their doggy day camp too!:) About a month ago we had a new Pup join our family and we took him here as well to get a check up the day after we bought him. The vet ran test and was able to let us know very quickly what treatments our new pup needed. Not only are they great for appointments and doggy daycare, we also loved their boarding. We had our pup stay a week with them and they did an awesome job. They are absolutely amazing at what they do and I would recommend to anyone looking for any of the services they offer. Aside from having an amazing staff, they also have very reasonable prices! Our pups Juno and Patron are happy campers going here :D

Recently brought my dog in for an injured paw. He had busted the quick under his nail pretty badly. I called up on a Sunday morning and they were able to get him in that afternoon. The experience started out positive. I checked in with ease and the staff was friendly. The waiting room was clean and smelled sanitized. Honestly, it was the lack of care for my dog by the vet combined with the perceived lack of communication between staff members. During my initial call to schedule his appointment I explained his injury in detail. My dog is a 200 pound Great Dane, he had a severely injured nail that looked as if it was digging into his quick, and lastly I explained my concern with infection due to the fact the quick is so close to the bone. As I stated before, they got me in that afternoon. The vet took a look at the injuries and spent a great deal of time talking about unrelated things I might need to look into for my dog such as allergy shots in his feet. While I understand that this might be something to look into, it could be briefly mentioned and put in the notes for my review later. The more pressing issue was his current injury. After all this, the vet simply told me it was a Sunday, and they were understaffed and could not do a thorough cleaning on his injured paw (the entire reason for my visit) or get a better look at his paw. They simply prescribed two medications costing around $150 dollars total, which was a complete rip off. I know it was a complete rip off because due to this extremely poor care for my dog, I did a virtual appointment with my previous outstanding vet in another state. My old vet prescribed three medications costing $50 dollars in total and my dog is just now starting to heal no thanks to Tempe Lake. At the end of the vet appointment I was instructed to see how the medication worked and then make a second appointment for a deep cleaning and possible sedation for a better look at the injury if necessary. I was also instructed to make sure the appointment was during the week so they would have enough staff. This business seems like a money making scheme to me. They brought me in knowing his condition and knowing his size and sent me on my way with medicine and did not bother to get a better look at it or at the very least clean it. I cleaned it as much as I could without access to tools or the knowledge of how best to clean an injury like that. Not sure if there was a lack of communication between the front desk staff and the vets or if the vet was just in it for the money. Either way my dog will never be coming back to this facility. I would suggest taking your dog elsewhere. EDIT - I would like to update my review and say that Tempe Lake reached out in regards to this situation and tried to make it right. I believe that speaks wonders about a business. They offered to bring my dog back in for additional care free of charge, for further evaluation in light of these circumstances. They took the time to ask for further details in order to address this situation and even asked about my dog.

I boarded my 9 year old aggressive dog here for 5 days, they were so kind an accommodating. He usually does not like strangers and will bite anyone who tries to pet him. They worked with him to warm up, did not give up and were able to get him to allow them to put his leash on and go on walks! He was kept away from the other dogs per my request and to ensure the other dogs safety. I feel so relieved to know I can now go on a vacation and have a great place to leave my dog. They are very friendly, kind and the place is immaculately clean! Your animal is in great hands with Tempe Lake Resort/Vet

If I could give Tempe Lake Veterinary Clinic 5 stars 500 million times more I would! Not only are the Doctors upfront about treatment plans as well as honest with pricing but the Staff/Nurses are prompt, kind and comforting. My senior dog has been going to Dr Lockhart since he was a puppy and has always treated him like his own pet. I wouldnā€™t trust any other clinic with my furbabies :)

Recently moved to Arizona & hadnā€™t found a local vet I loved yet. My cat wasnā€™t feeling well so we brought him in immediately. Dr. Reid Michaelis was absolutely amazing! He genuinely cared for my cat and made my anxious kitty feel so comfortable. Now weā€™re home and our baby is full of energy and playing again. I am picky with picking where I take my babies when theyā€™re sick & I am very happy with this vet! Lauren was also very sweet :)

While Iā€™ve had a few good experiences with Tempe Lake in the past, the last two times my spouse and I tried to use their services was an absolute nightmare. The first issue was that neither the techs, vets, or receptionists mentioned at ANY point in the process that they will not refill prescriptions for my pets medication if theyā€™ve not been seen for a vet visit in a year period. Iā€™m a new resident to AZ and was not aware this was a law here, and this was only brought to light when we tried to request a refill and were denied. I had a weekā€™s supply when I made the request, and they did not have an appointment slot available within a week. So I suppose they expected me to justā€¦ not give my dogs their medication (which can cause withdrawal issues if itā€™s stopped cold-turkey) until they had time for me? They wouldnā€™t even offer to give me an emergency fill of a few days to tide me over until an appointment was available. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because this was technically my fault for not being aware of AZ veterinary laws, but why not convey this information to me at ANY POINT in the process until it was too late to do anything but let my dogs go into withdrawal? The second and most recent issue is that they were holding the results of a urinalysis (that Iā€™ve already paid $120 in full for), hostage until I come in for a visit that will cost me more money I donā€™t currently have available. I initially scheduled an appointment for an unrelated physical injury (a bit of a hurt foot) which thankfully resolved from medications prescribed from an emergency vet I visited earlier in the week. The appointment with Tempe Lake was postponed once, and finally cancelled due to the injury improving and then completely resolving in the time before the appointment. Yet again, I was at no point informed that they would not release the results of the urinalysis without a vet visit, even after the appointment was cancelled. I finally reached out to inquire about the results (which were 4 days later than they told me to expect them) and was informed that since the dog has not been seen in over a year (Iā€™ve long since changed my primary vet to a mobile one after the first incident - they are up-to-date on vaccines and checkups) that theyā€™re unable to send the results of the test. I offered to have the records from both the emergency vet and the mobile vet faxed to them, and was denied again. When I mentioned over the phone that I did not have the money to bring my dog in for an appointment, the so called ā€œsupervisorā€ literally snickered at me??? as if me being broke is amusing to her, and said thereā€™s nothing that can be done. I was not asking for a prescription, meds, medical advice or ANYTHING other than the results I paid for and am owed, which I planned to share with my primary vet. I brought the urine sample in to them because they offered a better rate than the e-vet and said they were willing to accept it immediately. Unfortunately my mobile vet couldnā€™t accept the sample as quickly, and since time is of the essence in these matters, I tried Tempe Lake again since we have a history there. I contacted my emergency vet immediately following that call asking if they could assist me in obtaining the recordsā€¦ and wouldnā€™t you know, within an hour, I had the results in my inbox. So why put me through this absolutely infuriating ringer if you were able to send me the results the whole time? Like I mentioned earlier in my review, Iā€™ve had nice experiences at Tempe Lake, but the way I was spoken to during the last call was frankly unacceptable for a professional clinic. I wonā€™t be visiting this clinic again, and would urge people reading this review to either seek another vet, or ask for every single step of the process and legalities revolving meds/test results to be explained in excruciating detail, because I can guarantee it will not be offered to you freely. I hope this clinic hires staff that is able to convey important information about your animals health (like any vet clinic should) in the future.

My sweet baby girl rumi got a lump that was very very scary and could have been breast cancer. Tempe lakes was one of the only places that had a wait time of less than a month during the pandemic so I took her in hoping for the best. I got more than the best. My vet tech was so kind and gentle with my girl, who was naturally very shy. They gave her a full exam and told me exactly what to expect with the surgery and how my girl would recover. A couple days post op they called to check in on her and ask if she needed anything. Itā€™s been about two months and my baby has made a full recovery and is even more social now that sheā€™s been fixed. I thank the team at Tempe Lakes for taking care of my baby girl like she was their own. I will be with them as long as Iā€™m in the valley!

Tempe Lake Veterinary Clinic & Pet Resort is a safe place for us to board our cats when we travel. Their new renovations are great: our cats especially like the suites facing the lobby, with the HIGH overhang. This let's them look down on all the dogs checking in. And isn't this what cats love to do? Look down on everybody. From Bree at the front desk to Ana, who got our cats set up in their suites, everyone is friendly and helpful. Thank you Tempe Lake for a safe place to board our babies.

This is my first time at a veterinary clinic because my 8 month old pup is my first animal Iā€™ve ever owned but i would recommend this clinic to anyone who asked. Dr. Patricia Neagu is my favorite vet at the clinic and I ask for her every time now that I met her. Not only is she efficient and gets me out quickly in comparison to the others, but she is kind and gentle with my pup. My puppy got diagnosed with valley fever recently and during the whole process of figuring out his issues sheā€˜s remained communicative and empathetic to his well being. Also, vet technician Rissa does a wonderful job at her role as well- she is the quickest most efficient staff member I have worked with in comparison to the others I have worked with there in her role but is also very thorough, does a great quality job and has a great customer service personality. The front desk members are wonderful as well, very friendly.

A good vet. Like any medical facility the cost is high but cheaper than other local vets. Friendly staff and easy to work with for the health and wellbeing of your pet. I'm a social worker and cannot afford medicine marked up so high with them so I get my dogs scripts filled at the vet pharmacy. His pain meds were $30 with them for 3 of them but .50 cents each at the vet pharmacy. So that's the only thing, but that's America, a capitalist economy. I had a $370 bill today and got it down to $160 by filling at the vet pharmacy asked just paying the evaluation and for his heartgard because their rebate was good and the pharmacy agreed. I only paid $40 there at the pharmacy when one medication was $30 alone with the vet. Again, great vets and techs, I recommend them highly. Just the costs, but that is at any vet so I don't hold that against them.

Very friendly, loving and knowledge staff, Dr and tech. They did a very thorough exam of my Bell my 22 pound cat, and he trusted them. We went for a wellness check and a slight issue. The doctors assessment was prompt and the after care instructions were clear. It's not about the money here, it's about the health of your fur babies. He's considered a senior and I could afford the blood labs today. No pressure, at all. They were so sweet when I said we would need to save for that, it's a part of the wellness check for a senior. He's almost 10. She gave him antibiotics, cleaned him up so that we can prevent a reoccurring UTI. He's super fluffy, so we might need to assist in the back area. Bell and I thank you. I left feeling great and at ease. I highly recommend them. Very reasonable prices as well. The entire experience from my initial call, their reminders, to the time we left was extremely pleasant.

After getting declined by like 6 different places because no one seems to be accepting new clients my coworker recommended this place to me. I called and luckily they were accepting new clients and even had an opening that same day. The receptionist was so nice, answered all my questions and genuinely sounded like she enjoys what she does. All the vet techs were up beat and treated my old pup Sasha well. Sheā€™d come back into the room wagging her butt even after getting blood drawn. They gave me all options for treatments didnā€™t pressure me into anything and made sure I had all questions answered. HIGHLY recommend this place!

I have been bringing my puppy here since we got him and am very impressed! As a first time pet owner, the vets have been informative and answer all of my questions, regardless of how silly they may be. The front office staff and vet techs are so friendly and are always very helpful. I am happy with my experience here and am hoping to continue going to this practice for many years to come!

Our cat Steve had a very serious urinary issue that was life threatening. The staff was able to make time for an appointment the same morning I called. Dr. Lockhart and Dr. Reid calmly and respectfully explained the serious options we had to consider and took time to explain the financials and the potential outcomes of our catā€™s recovery. Our cat had to spend the night at a neighboring 24/7 vet facility following the procedure performed at Tempe Lake Vet and Dr. Reid checked in on Steve that night. Iā€™ve never had to make the difficult financial decision regarding a beloved pet before but Dr. Reid and Dr. Lockhart saved our sweet Steveā€™s life. Thank you for guiding us through that horrible day. Steve is back to his mischief thanks to you guys!!

I found Tempe Lake at a time when other vets and even an emergency vet turned me down due to staffing issues. So I was relieved to find a much needed new vet in town. A huge plus are their hours, which makes it very convenient to find time around my work schedule to get an appointment. I took my cat in for a teeth cleaning which was affordable and the staff was kind and knowledgeable. Iā€™m glad I found them and plan to continue to use them for my other cats.

From kitten to senior cat, Tempe Lake Vet Clinic & Pet Resort has you covered. Kitty condos with a view for when you're away. Similar accommodations for dogs - including outdoor play area. See website for details on services & prices. Visit with Dr. Lockhart or Dr. Ou -- both offer extensive knowledge & excellent care. Will ask questions, listen to you & your pet, and provide recommendations on care, treatment and food. Cannot speak highly enough about Dr. L's compassion & understanding for end of life care. It's tough when your loved one is sick & you have to let go and the compassion, kindness and care received during this difficult time was above and beyond expectations. Kind-hearted veterinarians & staff who love animals. (Also, if you have a nervous pet, let them know when you call so they can recommend options to help your loved one stay calmer for the visit. Plus you can check-in at reception for your visit & then wait in your vehicle until they're ready for you. This works well especially with cats & I can say no vets or staff were harmed during our last visit which included vaccinations!)

I have been to both Tempe Lake Vet Clinic & The Scottsdale Vet Clinic and I love them both. The staff are super nice and even call to check in on your pet the next day. Dr. Lockhart is an amazing vet. He is very honest and seems to genuinely care about your pet. I had not seen him in a couple years and he still remembered both of my dogs! I would definitely recommend this vet clinic as well as Dr. Lockhart to any of my friends needing a vet.

I visited in early November with my adult cat for a yearly check-up. I was a new client but the setup was so easy! The folks at the desk were friendly and warm when setting up my appointment and filling out the newbie paperwork. The vet and tech were lovely! This was the first time going to Tempe Lake Veterinary Clinic and Pet Resort. Their staff was professional and well prepared to handle my Chihuahua whom needed a nail extracted. They were able to see her within 10 min of arriving for her appointment and we were out of there in less than 2 hours. I think that was perfect timing considering it was a physical exam, vaccinations, and a nail extraction. The Vet and her assistant took their time in asking questions and accessing the problem. When done with the procedure they went over everything with me and made sure I left with all my questions answered. Two days after the appt I recieved a call from the clinic to follow up on my dogs recovery. I thought that was very nice and considerate of them to do especially on a Sunday morning. I highly recommend them as they not only have veterinary services but also a pet resort that we will be doing in the future.

My 3 year old standard poodle at my granddaughterā€™s sock causing a bowel obstruction requiring immediate emergent surgery. They saved my pup. My pup was vomiting anything she ate or drank. She was severely dehydrated upon presentation to the clinic. They immediately diagnosed the issue, started her on IV fluids, and performed the surgery. The have called numerous times since sheā€™s been home just to check on her. I truly believe they saved her life. I am so thankful and so grateful for the knowledge and skill level these veterinarians have. From the bottom of my heart thank you

Great place with friendly staff. This place is geared for cats and dogs however I rescued a large rabbit in my parking lot one night and brought in the rabbit the next day to check if it had a microchip. I called ahead and they were more than willing to scan the rabbit for me. Unfortunately the rabbit did not have one but I am very grateful that they accommodated my request free of charge and even provided me information for rabbit rescues.

Best pet resort in town! This is the only place I let my sweet Teddy stay because I know he will have windows, engagement, playtime, and extra good care. I researched a lot of places (some closer to me, some more affordable) but this is where I go every time, hands down. They provide a report card when you pick up your pet to let you know just how everything went (how much he ate, slept, played, etc), and will text you photos while you're away. The luxury cat condos with the windows to the lobby are the absolute best; Teddy loves watching all the people & pets walk by from his safe, comfy spot :)

I have been taking my two cats to TLVC for over 1 year now. I've been working most closely with Dr. Lockhart for my older kitty Pharoah, who was diagnosed with diabetes in June 2019, but have also worked with Dr. Ou and Dr. Neagu. All of them have been thorough, accommodating, and caring during the very long journey of feline diabetes we have experienced with Pharoah. They have also taken great care of my other kitty, Lil Streetz. Pharoah is a bit of a regular there now and the font desk girls and techs know him and me by name, and always treat us with kindness. They allow me to text them updates, questions, videos, and pics, WHICH I LOVE, because I am usually busy during the week. They are also not pushy on services; they explain all recommendations, allow me to make the best decision for my wallet and work with me from there. One Saturday, Dr. Lockhart was off work and I had a very important follow up appointment for Pharoah, due to some new issues he was experiencing (Saturday was the only day I could come). And Dr. Lockhart came in ON HIS DAY OFF just to see us and ensure Pharoah was improving! Oh em gee! Talk about SERVICE! This clinic is the best vet clinic EVER and I am so grateful for their continuous help and support with my two kitties. Call them ASAP for any of your pet's needs. They will take care of them to their fullest extent.

Hereā€™s the deal: these guys are great. They are kind, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Oh, and honest. My last vet was in the ā€œpharmacy-up-chargeā€ and ā€œdo-tests-without-mentioning-costs-until-itā€™s-too-lateā€ business; these guys offered pricing of everything up front and weā€™re all for suggesting less-profitable options. While the building is on the north side of the lake on car-repair-row (Iā€™ve seen more elegant structures in Depression era photos), the inside is modern and really nice. The staff was all super sweet and gentle. The vet seemed like he used to be a country livestock doctor (was no nonsense), but I liked knowing he knew exactly what needed to be done. The rest of the staff made up with the lovey dovey factor.. The vet even personally did phone follow up twice. Iā€™ll be a lifelong customer!

My cat of 15 years Callie was in a bad way with kidney failure and the docs and staff were very comforting when they gave us information that she wouldnā€™t be able to survive long. The first day of the shutdown it was apparent that Callie was in a ton of pain. We were advised that she could receive treatment, with no guarantee of quality of life we made the decision to let her go on to kitty heaven. The doc and nurse were very comforting to her and us at the same time. Even though it was through a FaceTime call we had to watch her put down I could see that the last strokes of love were given in such a compassionate way, with the doc even holding the phone close to her so she could hear our voices say goodbye. Everyone was tearing up as this is always a difficult decision. But thanks to the professionalism of Tempe Vet we came away knowing that she was loved her very last seconds on earth. Her cat friend P-kiddy sorely misses her but knows that she was given all the love Callie could want then. Thanks to all of the staff at Tempe Vet for caring. Btw, P-Kiddy says wassup? Jim Bender

I had to put my dog down last May during Covid, needless to say I was a mess. After I explained how important to me it was to be there with my dog as she passed they let me come in so I could be with here. They were super and had outstanding bedside manors.
