A wealth of history in this museum. Electric City is full of history from the early days of the electric trolley.

My son LOVED the trolley ride - 55 minute ride and worth it! If you go on a colder day, chilly in the tunnel. My son liked reading everything - just wished the model trains throughout were running but both sections were not. The hands on kid exhibit is great for little imaginations, I really appreciate the fare bells and the wooden car so he could feel like he was in charge. A few to view and a few to climb on!

I LOVE this place! Not my first time here, won't be my last. Great trolley ride and museum. Always a good place to visit.

Professional knowledgeable and engaging staff. This place is VERY cool. Ask about using this space conference room for your next meeting. It really worked well for our Team! Bonus: the steam train museum is also across the parking lot.

Absolutely loved it!! 🚎😍🚋 Lots of neat exhibits, some beautiful trolley cars, and a few model railroads, and a nice film about the history of trolley systems in the US.

There is a small admission fee for adults and children. Since we visited in a Monday there were no trolley rides or excursions running. This museum is on the smaller side, with 3 main exhibit areas, gift shop, and a kids play/education room. You'll see lots of preserved and restored trolley and rail station parts in the display cases and in the larger rooms several restored and salvaged trolleys (some in the process of being restored). There are two parked trolleys you can enter/board (non-running) replete with bells you can ring. There's also a miniature train display that was not running when we visited. We stayed for about an hour which is enough to see everything.

We didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised. Many photos of historic trolley lines in PA. Fun room for children to explore. Restored trolley cars indoors for visitors to climb aboard. Many trolley parts & even a substation on display to demonstrate how incoming AC power is converted to DC to power the trolleys. Well worth the modest entry fee.

A neat little museum and a really interesting trolley ride. Our kids loved the children's area with the giant table with placeable wooden buildings representing the Scranton/Wilkes-barre region. They could have spent all day building their imaginary towns. The Trolley ride was really awesome. We were able to get seats at one of the "end" windows and could watch the tracks ahead (or behind on the trip back). The Trolley really gets up to some serious speed for a tourist operation (maybe 30 mph). We will definitely be back soon...probably with more friends or family!

It felt run down. Half the museum is a store. You can see a few trolleys and the John Oliver gift is in the back without a train or trolley moving on it. For the money it's not much to see or do

A very interesting museum piggybacking on the nearby train museum. It helped point out the role that trolleys played in the local history of Scranton

was amazing. We had previously visited the Steamtown Museum and explored the trains and even took a really nice train ride, but this time we explored the Trolley Museum. It was wonderful. We took a ride on a trolley thru one of the longest ( 1 mile + ) underground tunnels ever built. We passed some amazing sights not seen from anywhere else, 3 step falls, a closed mine entrance, the gourge, etc. And the amazing things I learned Trolleys and baseball are forever linked- who knew? Baseball fields and amusement parks were originally built so people had a reason to use the Trolleys for something other than going to and from work. The original name of the BROOKLYN DODGERS was actually the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers. The ONLY trolley that still connects directly to a baseball field is in Scranton. This place is a MUST SEE AND DO! Really, bring the family for a really fun filled, inexpensive, educational great day out.

Only walked around the outside because we booked the steam train ride but the collection is nice and I'm glad they are saving these trolleys and trains to be restored

What a great experience. The museum was full of so much history. We went back the next day to take the trolley tour. The gentlemen giving the tour knew their history. Well worth it. A great museum for kids, teens and adults.

Not much for kids to do. Many of the hands on exhibits were not working, and no trollies for the kids to play with in the kids area after they set up the town on the interactive map. The staff at checkout were very nice and informed for adult questions. The museum needs more of a kids touch. Possibly invite an elementary teacher for tips.

This museum was really well done. Interesting, hands on, I learned a lot and enjoyed it despite not being much into trains. Don’t miss the short film at the beginning or the trolley ride (plan for an hour for the trip). It’s possible to do the Steamtown museum in the same day but if you have little ones I’d stretch it out, it can be a bit long.

We took my 3 year old to the museum and he got to ride on the 🚎 trolley. My whole family loved this experience! I would 10 our of 10 recommend going

Great hidden gem of Pennsylvania and the Scranton area: roughly 3 hours from nyc and Philly with a vast collection of steam engines in a classic roundhouse setting. Daily tours and easily something for the everyone in the family

Right next to the Steamtown museum this trolly museum is ran by the city of Scranton. It's a nice companion to it. The history of trollys is explained beautifully and there's lots on display definitely worth a visit. Unlike Steamtown you do have to pay for this but it's not that bad

If you're going to Steamtown, this little gem of a museum, on the Steamtown grounds is a great bonus visit. The Trolley ride to the ballpark is fun with interesting scenery. You get to experience commuting from a century ago. The trip through the mile long tunnel was interesting and refreshing on a hot day (it's always cool in there). Go and learn why Scranton is the Electric City!

Excellent experience there. The museum is small but there is a good amount to look at there. The trolly ride is a must if you are going to go. I loved the ride and I will definitely be going again. Everyone there was lovely and friendly.
