This was the first respects I paid to an iconic, influential and genuine artist Jimi Hendrix. The overwhelming feeling of peace and love and a little something magical about the air. I thought these photos from my 2011 west coast trip had long ago disappeared but stumbled across them a few weeks ago and figured a small belated review and sharing were in order. ✌ Fly on little wing...

We saw this memorial circa 1999 when we first moved to the area. Visited again in 2021... even better. Recommend a visit. I saw Jimi Hendrix in concert in 1968 and was hooked as a fan. Purple flowers that line the walkway .... a very nice touch. Will post more pics soon. A must see.

Very nice memorial open to the public. Please be respectful and keep the area tidy! I loved the purple flowers planted around the edge, a very nice touch. You don't need to spend a lot of time here buts it's a must visit for any Jimi Hendrix or general music fan. Very peaceful and well done.

Easy to find and pretty cool memorial for Jimi Hendrix. The purple flowers are so pretty even on cloudy days. If you are a music fan, you should check out this spot and tourist attraction. I would have loved to see him live. What an amazing show that would have been! Please be respectful as this is a memorial!

My work takes me near the Greenwood Memorial Park cemetery a couple of times a week, right around the break of dawn. The sky in the east turns slightly pink, sprinklers turn on, and the mist makes the memorial appear hovering off the ground. I light up one, and play one of Jimi's songs. It is a nice way to spend one's break.

In 2017, I was burning up the road heading out of country. I'd been from Oklahoma to Florida. Then Florida to Texas, and on to Arizona after that. From Arizona it was on to California, and so on up to Washington. Many times during that ride, Jimi had come up on my iPod. When I stopped in Oregon, and was looking over Seattle for sites to see, I saw that his memorial was in the area. I rode out of Vancouver, OR at 3 or 4 am, and all I played on the way up were his albums. I got to his Memorial a little after the sun rose and spent a some time there paying respects. He was gone too soon, but his voice and words will live on long after I'm gone. Rest in peace.

Beautiful and well maintained memorial in a peaceful cemetery. Maybe not wild of enough for the style of Jimi in life, but a mroeual fitting for him none the less.

A beautiful yet subtle memorial for the beloved Jimi Hendrix. So many lipstick kisses for the legend on his murals. Just a gorgeous cemetery in general.

Beautiful memorial, nicely done. Worth flying across the country to see, even around the world. Excellent experience. Rock on, Jimi. Thanks for the love and music.

It doesn't matter where you stand, it's a powerful feeling from down the walkway, or standing within next to the guitar surrounded by his words. I felt gratitude being there early enough in the morning I got to be alone to take it all in. Appreciate that there is thought of family here so they are together.

I visited Jimi’s grave first in 1997. It was a simple stone hidden away. What the family has done here is wonderful. Fitting for a man that has such an impact on so many.

It is a beautiful, unique memorial of an amazing person and his family. The memorial itself sits in the middle of a roundabout directly in front as you enter the cemetery. It depicts several quotes and images of Jimi, and has a bronze statue of a guitar in the center. You can see the remnants of lipsticked kisses all over the engraved images and guitar picks in the statue guitar. You can definitely feel the love of his fans to this day. The cemetery itself is also just as nice, with beautiful tombstones and peaceful memorials all over the grounds.

Great place to remember. Take a moment to be with him and his music. There is also offered a Jimmy Hendrix Memorial Room to sit and relax with his spirit in a Private place (see my pictures from this room - wall). The place is worth to travel to visit!

Jimi Hendrix was a great guitarist and the perfect reason to visit his grave while you're in Seattle. Just mention "Jimi Hendrix Memorial" within Google navigation and it'll get you right there. His memorial is just past the gate off the side Road.

Resting place of a legend. Be sure to wash your mouth after you kiss it. Or just avoid kissing it altogether, lol.
