Julie was our escape master and she was awesome! My wife and I love escape rooms and this one was legit! The “Baldwin Manor” room was pretty intense! We escaped with 2 minutes left and my wife had a great time!

This was so much fun!! Definitely a lot of difficult puzzles that my group of 6 didn't get through all the way.😅 The decor and props were very impressive and elaborate, and the host was very animated and seemed like she loved her job! She was also very generous and understanding about my group coming in late and gave us extra time without rushing us, even past their close time! Awesome customer service 👏

My party of 5 did the Atlantis room and it was awesome! We've never done a motion room escape and were super satisfied with that added element. It wasn't crazy like you can't keep your balance but enough that you feel fully immersed in the experience. The puzzles were challenging and well done, nothing felt cheap, cheesy, or fragile. The host was very friendly and helpful as well. Will definitely be going back to try out their other rooms!

Such a great time! I read the room was supposedly the beginner room- but it was pretty hard! I really enjoyed our time! So creative and always a great time to laugh with friends! Escape rooms are addicting! Great game masters, very friendly. Can’t wait to try the other rooms!

We had a great time! Some of the puzzles were definitely on the harder side, but we finished with two minutes to spare! A really immersive experience.

Did the spell struck room with 3 of us. The room was great! The puzzles were fun and the ambience was nice. The staff was very friendly. If you’re a group of seasoned escape room goers, would say this specific room was on the easier side and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend doing it with too many more people. 3 was honestly a great number. Overall, would highly recommend this place!

Did the Spell Struck room and it was great! The rooms were very thematic throughout and the introduction was wonderful. There are some fun surprises and the puzzles were enjoyable with many feeling familiar if you have some experience, while others having unique mechanics. The room was somewhere in the middle of non-linear and linear. There are parts with multiple things to work on and others with 1 main task, thus it is probably best for 3-4 players. It did seem that they were short-staffed as we were a bit rushed out of the room. The photo area after had no thematic props whatsoever. Overall I would put this room in the upper ~25% of rooms I have done and I highly recommend it!

We did the Atlantis room and had a blast! The staff was friendly and helpful with hints at the right moments. The room was top notch and one of our favorites so far! Thanks for a great experience!

We had so much fun. The creativity is so inspiring and I can’t imagine what incredible brains are behind these fun activities! Our guide was super nice, and we had a really fun experience. Thank you!

Super fun! I've done a lot of escape rooms and this was the first that moved. It added a realistic component but was not so intense that it should dissuade anyone from coming here. The puzzles were logical and challenging without being impossible. This is a great escape room in a fun area to explore afterwards.

We did the Deep Dive Escape Room, all I gotta say is grab on and prepare yourselves for one bumpy ride. The motion movement made the escape room feel even more realistic and it was so fun!! Thank you First Mate Anthony for the in person intro and Sam for letting me take extra pictures! Definitely going to go back and try the different escape rooms in the future! Until next time. 🔑

So fun! This place was great and the hosts were up for our silliness and even helped us solve after our timer went off so we could get the whole experience. Highly recommend! If you do spell struck you may want more than 2 people.

This was our 3rd time at the Escape Artist. We did the "Spell Struck" room with 3 people & it was a lot of fun! The room set the mood well & the puzzles were engaging. We only needed help twice & got out with 4 minutes to spare! I suggest at least 3 people to do this one. We have done "13th floor" & "Trapped" with just 2 people in the past & that was manageable. In general, don't be afraid to ask for a hint if you get stuck, because some of the puzzles are pretty involved & some clues are hard to notice. Plus you are more likely to escape & it's much more fun if it keeps moving. The staff was in character & helpful. I highly recommend this!!

My 16yo daughter and her14yo best friend did the 13th Floor puzzle. They came out of their room giggling and laughing, and asking to do it again! The staff is super friendly and they do a great job of helping their clients get through their puzzles (if they need help). The girls said their room looked so real, and they loved that their "elevator" moved! We will DEFINITELY be back! Thank you for a wonderful experience, The Escape Artist staff!

This was one of the most fun team activities our office has done! Our host, Cynthia, was fantastic and funny and totally into the whole process. Highly recommend and plan to come back with friends!!

This was such a delightful experience! It was my partner and I first escape room and I’m SO glad we chose this one. The workers really got into character which made it even more fun. We will definitely be gong again. I wish I could give it more than five stars tbh

Very enjoyable experience. The staff is extremely friendly and we got assistance whenever we needed. The puzzles are also good, they are challenging without being stupidly obvious nor stupidly complicated. We enjoyed and was totally worth it!

My partner and I had such a blast at the Escape Artist while visiting Seattle from Canada!! We LOVEEE escape rooms but we find it really hard to find affordable 2-person bookings in the states. Not only was The Escape Artist super affordable for a group of 2 players but the value for our money was fantastic! I also loved that the website mentioned there rooms weren’t horror-based, as I’m apprehensive about the level of spookiness when we try new escape rooms. The experience as a whole was made absolutely better by our game master, Cynthia. They were knowledgeable, in character, fun, professional, and happy to help when we wanted a few extra photos on our phones! We can’t wait to come back and try other rooms next time we’re in Seattle 🥳☺️

Absolutely loved our experience at the escape artist. It was just my wife and I and we attempted Spell Bound. It was a little bit to big of a room to get through all the data to solve the mystery. But it was still very awesome and totally something we will do again. Recommend a group of four people to conquer Spell Bound.

Rose was an awesome Game Master! She was very cheerful and I really appreciated when she chimed in with tips unprompted, they were helpful and reassured me that she was observing our game closely. The submarine experience was probably my favorite escape room I've ever done! The puzzles felt very well laid out, and my group never was idling as a whole -- there was always progress to be made. The only small suggestion we had was that it would be nice if the puzzles were more parallelizable (there a few moments where it was just a few of us waiting for the others to solve a puzzle before moving on); but that did not kill our momentum or our fun! We almost accidentally made the leaderboards too (only 2 minutes off 😂). Also the wheel turning for one of the final interactions could be better (they are well aware of this though). Very fun, would recommend!

Had an amazing experience a The Escape Artist! We went in for one escape room, and had such a good time we did another one the same day! We are so looking forward to doing more!! Team there was great and provided amazing service and an immersive experience. The sets were great, and the rooms were challenging. Totally recommend!

We recently did Dive to Atlantis. I've done 30 rooms in the PNW, and this one definitely ranks up in the top 5! Clever puzzles, definitely with some twists I hadn't seen before, very helpful and enthusiastic game master, and a really great ending. Our group of four escaped with just about 4 minutes left. I would highly recommend this room.

A group of 3 friends and I had a fantastic time. This was maybe my 6th or 7th escape room and up front I knew it'd be great because the intro speech called out annoying features that would not be includes like red herring puzzles or the possible need to use items a second time without knowing. The puzzles were fun, just simple enough to keep momentum going while challenging enough to stump us each at different points before we eventually won. Would definitely come back!

My group & I did the 13th Floor escape room. It wasn't our type of escape room. We're used to having lots to solve & brainstorming together, one puzzle leading to another. There was a lack of direction in this one, some drawers & doors would open but we weren't exactly sure why or how we got there. Overall, pretty anticlimactic since we kept thinking it was going to get better, but it didn't and then it was over. However, I will say this a really good beginner escape room if you've never done one before!

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me privately, and it was the most earnest and gracious reply. She took genuine action to address the items I mentioned and also learn more about the feedback. I wasn't expecting a reply, especially not one like that! I'm changing my rating to 5 stars because it's so obvious the owner cares to make this a great experience. I WILL be back to try another room. _________________ I'm sorry to only give three stars when this place has such a high rating. My partner and I do a lot of escape rooms. Some puzzles in the room didn't seem to work well, such as something falling over when it is meant to stay in place. The game master seemed like a really nice person but she micromanaged us throughout the game. We'd so much as look in a wrong spot and she'd come on the intercom and essentially say "no, don't look there." A couple times, she also gave us clues we didn't ask for. I have seen this method done well in other rooms, but, in this case, it was just off putting. We weren't given enough time to stumble, redirect, or figure things out on our own without being fed the answer. We finished with plenty of time, so it would have been okay to just let us play the game. In addition, the introduction from the game master was extremely long. I appreciate trying to set the scene, but it was excessive. I liked the idea behind the room that we played (Spell Struck). However, because of the things I mentioned, we won't be back to this one.

Escape Artist has been more consistently fun than any other place I've been. I recently did Spell Struck and it was truly innovative. It had an incredible variety of puzzles and set the bar really high for other escape rooms.

Have been to a few escape rooms in other States and this one close to home in West Seattle was on my list for a while. We booked a slot for 4 if us on a Saturday and went in for Trapped in Space. Finding the entrance to this place was a little bit of a challenge but then thats why you have to report 15mins early! Once we got in we checked in, kept out belongings in lockers and our host walked us through the briefing. We felt this escape room was doable even with lesser folks but it was a smart one! We managed to escape with 12seconds remaining and felt really good! We could ask as many clues and some of the clues were direct helping us progress to the next step. Every minute we were all engaged finding different clues and answers and looking for pointers. All in all we enjoyed our escape room experience here.

Our gamemaster Megan was terrific! Enthusiastic, helpful and funny, she really added to the experience. We did The 13th Floor and there was some motion of the room which I wasn't as much a fan of, but overall good puzzles and I look forward to trying their other experiences.

We had so much fun at the escape room. This was my very first escape room and my husband and his mom had done one before and they said that it was awesome in comparison. We did have a guide that was a bit rushed because she was training new people, but that did not take away from the fun and you could feel the passion from the employees in general. We did figure out the puzzle but we had to ask for a lot of help ha ha. We did the room 13 one and it was pretty exciting and now we’re talking about wanting to do the other rooms as well.

WOW is this place awesome!!! I accidentally scheduled the wrong day, so when we arrived a day early and weren't on the schedule, I panicked! But they found a way to let us play that same day!!! The moving floor of the Dive to Atlantis added to the really awesome set, and the puzzles were fun and challenging. Just a really great experience!

The rooms are so well-crafted and puzzles are intriguing. The game masters are enthusiastic and provide useful hints to help us move through the game. We have done two rooms now (Atlantis and Spell) and would highly recommend both! We plan on coming back to play the remaining two rooms.

The ground shaking and motion experience is really cool as is the theme for the hotel room. The game master left the final key out by accident and I beat the game very early by mistake. She also had a bit of an attitude problem in the final room. Parts of the game are not meant to be touched with towards the end that are difficult to deal with in the dark with a walky talky. Overall, the experience was okay would recommend other rooms.

We played 9 escape rooms while visiting Seattle this week, and carefully ranked Dive to Atlantis and The 13th Floor as our 6th and 7th favorite games, respectively. Both games had clever puzzles and incorporated full motion, which was fun to experience for the first time! We liked Dive to Atlantis a little more because of its convincing set design and certain puzzles that required more teamwork. Shoutout to Dan for hosting us!

We accidentally made our booking for the wrong day and showed up a full day early! Mai took unbelievably good care of us, went above and beyond to work with us through the available options, and our crew had the BEST time searching for Atlantis! 10/10 will be coming back here again! Half of our group had never done an escape room before. I've done 7 or 8 and this ranks in my top two!!

  • 5/5 Wesley S. 1 year ago on Google
This was our first time doing an escape room and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Maya was an awesome guide, puzzles were just challenging enough. We'll be back!!

We went here for my friends birthday and did the Spell struck room! We had the best time! The puzzles were challenging and fun. We will definitely come back! I'm so glad we finally have a place like this in West Seattle. The staff was fun and friendly. 10/10 recommended!!
