Our two kiddos 5 and 7 love their class. In only six months we’ve seen our oldest blossom in confidence and physical awareness. He brags about how he exercises being still and concentrating in class. Our youngest has a hard time in new group situations and he has just slipped right in and is so happy. The instructor is really fun and attentive to the kids needs and learning. It’s been a great experience for our family.

I stopped in one day as the locations and times worked out for me. Alot more is needed when choosing a good gym so still after that your taking a chance. Professors method of training in combination with his skills and experience equal a very pleasant experience on the mats as well as an abundance of knowledge to gain on your bjj journey. Very community oriented , the guys and gals that train there are also super cool and great to train with. If your interested in learning BJJ and your around the south seattle area, look them up!!!

As a woman new to a gym what I'm looking for is to feel safe and welcomed. And Lotus provided that from the very start, especially through their Women's Classes. Every class I leave with a smile, having felt challenged, empowered, and exhausted in the best way. I also appreciate knowing this is a club committed to social justice and serving the community.

I started training recently and can’t be happier with the values here at Lotus: safety, detail-oriented, and the sense of community. Professor treats his craft with love and respect and it emanates through his instruction, organization, and sincere desire to help everyone improve. The other practitioners are dedicated not only their growth but your growth as well.

From the minute I stepped on the mat and met the team, I had a great time. Coach Bravo is excellent, and all of his students follow his example to be friendly and helpful. I have a spine injury from a recent unrelated accident a few months ago, and their team was totally accommodating. Every member worked with me carefully to make sure not to put pressure on my neck, and they modified techniques to make sure that even though there were things I couldn't do, I could still gain something from the class. I'd highly recommend this gym for being safe and fun. You won't find kinder people anywhere.

I started 3 months ago with no prior experience and I couldn't be happier to have found Lotus to begin my jiu jitsu journey. Professor Bravo is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also a gifted and patient teacher who genuinely cares about each of his students. Every person I've met here has been very welcoming and inclusive, making it feel like a tight knit community who supports each other to learn, grow, and meet whatever goals we have for ourselves. I hope to enroll my daughter here when she gets a bit older as it's clear the kids program is thriving as well. No hesitations in recommending Lotus to anyone thinking about joining!

I highly recommend Lotus BJJ! My 6-year-old daughter started taking virtual classes with Lotus BJJ around the beginning of the pandemic (early 2020) and for the past year+ has been doing classes in-person. As a parent, it can be hard finding a good fit in terms of extracurricular activities, and I have been so impressed with this organization. I know that when my daughter is at the Lotus BJJ dojo, she is seen, safe, cared for, respected and encouraged. Over these past 2 years, I have seen growth in her discipline, building community with others, and empowerment. I appreciate the care and passion that the owners, Profe Bravo and his wife Jessica, bring to the dojo every day. As a BIPOC parent, it is also important to me to be intentional about the spaces that my children are in and to see diversity of ethnic and other social identities. Lotus BJJ encourages and welcomes this diversity. My daughter looks forward to her BJJ classes each week and I feel both lucky and proud to be in the Lotus BJJ family.

Lotus jiu-jitsu club was the best place to be for my 5yo daughter after we faced grief and some hardships in housing, she is thriving and is becoming a more confident little girl than she used to be. The team who is welcoming our kids are just genuinely amazing and are doing an excellent job at teaching this self defense martial art! Very appreciative of their effort!

Jessica and Enrique are both amazing humans and teachers. They come at the historic martial art that is jujitsu with a lens of inclusion and acceptance - all all people and skills. On the mat, patience and respect are expected, and Enrique knows how to foster it in students (young and old). Jessica is an amazing communicator and is super flexible with scheduling. She also solicits feedback from practitioners to improve programming. I (and my kids) love Lotus and would recommend it to anyone looking for an energetic way to stay grounded.

I'm posting this review from a new account because my original post does not seem to be visible. If you see this twice, I'm not trying to spam a 5-star - though Lotus is worthy of it. My high school aged son and I have been training with Professor for just over 3 months now. We had been looking for something physical and martial arts related to get involved with as the pandemic restrictions start to lift, and I've had some not so great BJJ experiences in the past so I was a little wary. That being said, we feel incredibly privileged to be able to train at Lotus. So welcoming! Such great instruction - not only from Professor but the more experience students as well. It's a great workout with many life lessons to be had. Jiu Jitsu is a great sport and great self defense. It epitomizes the "productive struggle" that is good learning, and Professor has established a culture in which students at every level feel safe to engage, make mistakes, and continue to learn with joy. I can only give you my highest recommendation to check out Lotus!

I've known Professor Enrique and Jessica for about 20 years. They are two of the most talented, kindhearted, and honorable people I know. They are special people who live out their commitment to community and social justice in everything they do. I mention these things because character is one of the first things you should look for in a martial arts instructor. I had the pleasure of training with Professor Enrique in NYC just before I became a blue belt. Like all good BJJ instructors, he is great at sparring safely with beginners in a way that challenges them and enables them to learn. As a Lotus Jiu Jitsu black belt, Professor Enrique's lineage is strong and he learned from one of the best, Professor Eduardo Santos, who I also had the pleasure of training under. If you're in Seattle, this is the place to be to begin or continue your BJJ journey.

Amazing experience!!! Everyone at this gym is extremely helpful and gives such a positive vibe to the sport. This gym has given my family such great support, love, and guidance. I would 100% recommend anyone who wants to train, from any age, to train at this place.

Greatly appreciate the lotus family, my son has been going for about two or three months. He loves the class and is highly upset when he has to miss it. It’s his first time doing something like it and I can’t believe after his first class he was hooked. Proud Dad over here. I highly recommend this class for any kid that wants to learn BJJ.

I’ve trained at a handful of BJJ/mma gyms over the last 7 years or so, for a couple months at a time and after recently moving, I wanted to find another gym. I was recommended Lotus by a friend who was already training here and I couldn’t be happier. The atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for in a gym. Everyone is incredibly helpful, friendly, and brings out the best in you. Although I’ve only been training a few weeks, everyone feels like family and I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Lotus BJJ

Lotus is an incredible place to train. Professor is extremely patient and insightful. Lotus provides a safe environment to learn and grow with the sport. It’s a great space for kids as well as adults to get into BJJ. I especially love how their whole family is involved and so it feels like a fantastic environment for anyone, or everyone, in the family to get involved with BJJ. While I trained with them in their earliest stages awhile back, if I was in Seattle long term, my whole family would be training with them consistently.

I’ve trained in the past with Lotus Club in Queens, NY. I travel to Seattle about once a year, so I am really happy that Lotus now has a location in this city. I’ve had the pleasure of training with Prof Enrique each time I pass through Seattle. This is a warm and welcoming environment that honors the values of Lotus Club. The professor has a deep understanding of BJJ and various other martial arts. He is a life-long student which helps him explain techniques and strategy in a way that we can all understand. He knows how to meet his students where they are, and how to bring out the best in them. If you live in the city or are a practitioner just passing through, I would highly recommend visiting Lotus Club Seattle (prof Enrique is very welcoming to visitors from all schools, if you need a place to train on your travels, this is it!!)

Our son and daughter have been learning Jiu Jitsu for about 6 months now. Professor Enrique and Jessica are amazing! Great family environment! Clean facility and mats! Fun teammates! I feel like our kids have bettered themselves physically and mentally, the discipline they have learned here is carried over to every aspect of their life, to other sports and how they behave at home. We’d highly recommend this facility to anyone, adults and children.
