Eh. It is what it is. The bagels are pretty good. Good variety. I've been eating here for decades and weirdly, they have NEVER had friendly staff here. No matter when you go in the past 20+ years, the person behind the counter will always seem mildly annoyed and somewhat surprised that you're asking for their help. It's obviously not a priority for them to make eye contact or say hello, even if it's not busy. Also, no matter how dead the place is, no one EVER cleans the tables here so of course they are ALWAYS FILTHY. 9 empty tables covered in bagel crumbs and chai, NO ONE in the restaurant, and 6 staff people gossiping behind the counter. I mean hey I know it's not a gourmet restaurant, but no one can EVER grab a towel and just take 3 minutes to wipe these off every couple hours? Apparently not. I mean, it's a Santa Cruz institution and obviously they know that they don't have to try very hard, and that's reflected in the staff and environment. But for a quick bagel and chai, you don't necessarily except French Laundry style ambience.

Bagelry Seabright location has been my most visited location over the years. It is centrally located and was usually on the way to a workplace and easy to stop by. You can get coffee, tea, bagels, and plenty of other assorted beverages. The Garlic bagel is toasted with half cheese Louise, which is a garlic herb cream cheese, and the other half is tomato herb, which is just amazing. The scrambagels are delicious, too! They have eggs and cheese, and you can add whatever you like. Local art is hanging on the wall for sale. Cute spot but small. If you want to eat here, you may have to wait.

$13 Bagel with lox wasnt even toasted. "Mocha" was brewed coffee with hot cocoa mix, nit even any milk. Staff was more baked than the bagels. Table arrangement is bizarre...

Get the salmon and crema cheese - I am Irish and I have never liked bagels, I never even knew what a bagel was until I came here. But this place. Their bagels are divine! Try their soup too. They always have amazing art on their walls too.

Excellent tasting bagel….firm but chewy. They also have a number of breakfast sandwiches on bagels. Staff is friendly and courteous. One tip, since they are so good, they are often crowded in early morning hours and it’s best to call in your order so it’s ready to go when you get there.

Okay, for all of us locals, we all know that the Baglery is not what it used to be. However, you can still get a great bagle which last me for dinner and lunch for under 5 bucks. That's pretty d*** good, and very yummy .

A classic Santa Cruz staple. Been going to all the locations for years. Pesto bagel with tomato herb and a tomato bagel with cheese louise is my go to. Delicious!

Cool bagel shop. Standard and unusual varieties of bagels and bagel sandwiches. Pesto bagel was a pleasant surprise. Seeded bagels were exceptional. No hole, firm exterior and chewy interior. When I'm in Santa Cruz I'll be back.
