Not sure if this practice actually reads these reviews but I concur that they are absolutely shocking on all fronts. Trying to get through in the first place is nigh on impossible then actually having someone ring you back is a task in itself, I mean I don't think expecting to speak with a doctor in a doctors surgery is too much to ask but here it clearly is. This surgery has gone massively downhill. I don't actually know what doctors do anymore and the sooner this place has a massive overhaul from top to bottom the better. Not fit for purpose!!

If I could leave no stars I most certainly would. I have experienced poor service with regards to health matters and recently with the administration and managerial side of this practice. I have always expressed myself to the appropriate professional at the practice and unfortunately mostly this has been of a negative nature. I would not recommend this practice and have recently done some research about the practice and therefore came across this site where the reviews hit a cord with me. I also found a โ€œleague tableโ€ where this practice is bottom in the whole of County Durhamโ€ - there has to be something drastic done to change the practice, there are many patients suffering poor service, which has a direct effect on their health. I have received emails which have gone into my โ€œjunkโ€ because the email address was incorrect, they have addressed me by a different forename, and they have contacted me by telephone and left messages on my non existent voicemail?? I could go on and on. The patients of this practice deserves better.

Tried to make an appointment to see my doctor who I always see. They told me a triage would ring me. They range at 12 but it was my own doctor so I told her what was wrong and she said come to the surgery at 4.45pm, I thought great I am seeing my own doctor. When I got there it was the nurse. My mouth hit the floor and she new I was put off. I asked her where my doctor was in a meeting she said. This nurse was lovely but I still wanted to talk to my doctor. If this carry on I will be changing my surgery, fed up now.

Atrocious new system. Over 50 redials from 8.30 to 10am. Then told by recorded message that a new system meant that I would be triaged before getting an appointment. Then when, eventually, the phone was answered (another 6 minutes of music) I was told that they were fully booked for triage let alone actual appointments. I must "try again tomorrow to get a triage call". What about working people? How do they redial again and again for over an hour? No wonder people are abusing the A & E services in this country. You can't even ask for an appointment in a few days time for a non-urgent matter

Usually have no issues with the William brown centre however this morning came to the practice after making an appointment for 11am last week. Then to be told my appointment is tomorrow. I know I definitely made it for Tuesday as Iโ€™m working Wednesday so now I have to wait longer for my appointment!

So I rang first thing about my son having some pains and was told I would get a call in the afternoon. I know already that they are useless at calling back but gave them the benefit of the doubt and checked they are open until 830pm. By 630pm Iโ€™d had no call so I rang to be told via an automated recording that โ€œthe surgery is now closed, normal opening times are 830am until 830pm!!!!! So how come they were closed?!!Absolutely pathetic.

Wish I could give ZERO! It's going down& apart from trying to get through on the phone,I went for a 8.50 am appointment & told come back at 10.30..Arrived at 10.20 am & in spite of 2 visits to the counter I was not seen and left at 11 .30 am!!!.I seriously thinking of changing GP's as this practice is always complaining about "no shows" but wasted my entire morning! The parking is also limited with cars not parked in bays( in spite of empty bays)

Absolutely appalling service.lied to repeatedly to get me off the phone, told to come back to pick medication up,only to get there and it had not even been looked at.the surgery pharmacist was extremely rude and offensive.avoid this practice if you are looking for a professional service provided with care and trust.

I have used this surgery on several visits and found the appointment times were well adhered to, no delays to speak of and excellent treatment by competent doctors and nurses, my wife endorses my comments wholeheartedly, having had the same experience. I hope this will continue in the face of cutbacks and changes in the NHS.

Once Again I have cause to mention the lack of Service from this surgery, after being put on Morphine for an injury due to the not being examined by either a Doctor or Physio I found that the dosage was not sufficient to be of any use after putting up with having to phone every 6 days for a prescription I final got the dosage corrected and a new prescription for a larger bottle only to find that this was also inadequate as it only lasted 15 days, I mean it's not rocket science if you are using 21.5ml per day a 300ml bottle will not get you to the 28day repeat prescription. So once again having ran out of medication I had to phone yet again to have this rectified and once again the Attitude of the staff who demand respect from patients was totally unbelievable I was spoken to by a right jobsworth who informed me that I would have to wait until the pharmacist logged on and my medication would not be sorted till this happened, so I was left with no medication all day and at 4pm again rang the surgery to find out what was happening. Again to be told that I was not the only patient in the practice by some wannabe and once again I would have to wait until the pharmacist logged on to do my Prescription this was 1 hour before all the chemist's in Easington closed and that would leave me once again without medication and unable to walk or get about for yet another 24 hours. Luckily for me my wife had the foresight to go to Arbroath House and see Trisha the receptionist who was able to overcome all of the problems by simply emailing a doctor at home and a presciption was sent directly to Boots within seconds problem solved by simply someone understanding that you were in urgent need of medication and did not need to be spoken to in such a way as to make you feel that you did not matter by some ignorant young upstart jobsworth. Thank You Trisha, The staff at William Brown Center should be trained to speak to patients with the same respect that they expect to receive from them. I hope they can learn from this and get their act together.

I rang the William Brown pharmacy to ensure I could collect my husbandโ€™s prescriptions which were due on the 27th of December before the pharmacy closed for the Christmas break. They told me to speak to the surgery. I called the surgery and after waiting for 10 minutes I was advised by Mollie to call back and select 2 for the prescription line and leave a message. I did this but no one got back to me that day. I left a further message the following day but no call received. I drove to the surgery and spoke to the pharmacist.she advised me to speak to reception. There was no one on reception. Eventually someone arrived. I tried to explain and she just spoke over me. I was perfectly polite and respectful something she was absolutely not. Apalling attitude. After all that it turned out they had got my message and arranged for the medications to be ready for collection before Christmas but no one had let me know and returned my calls. Maybe it was because it was Friday afternoon but the receptionists attitude was very ooor. She needs to learn some manners and should not be in a customer service role. No wonder this surgery is the worst in County Durham.

What a joke, tried to get to see a np/gp regarding an issue, on a few occasions, staff at the desk, very unhelpful, didn't have a clue what they were doing. Told me to ring 111, why can't I ever get a gp appointment, they state appointments are available, yet they give people who clearly don't need tobe seen the appointments first. I don't sit around doing normal on a daily basis, I work when I need an appointment it's clearly for a reason. William brown centre is going down hill fast.

Too many patients yet continue to take on, can't get a prescription refilled unless you call on a weekday between 11am-12pm which is most people's breaks/lunches and I am still in uni classes at that time. Every appointment I get they are cold and try to get me out as quickly as possible. A joke.

If I could I would have given it 0 stars. Worst mistake of my life coming back to this surgery. For some reason my tablets are no longer on repeat since coming here. When I ask about it Iโ€™m told they canโ€™t do it, no explanation. I rang for my repeat, was told it would be ready today. I went to get it to be told Iโ€™m not allowed it until tomorrow. Tomorrow I canโ€™t pick it up due to not being here and I wonโ€™t be back now till next week. So now I wonโ€™t have any of my medication.

I started phoning the surgery at 8.30am, after 98 attempts at getting through and almost 9 minutes on hold....to be told there were no appointments left and no doctors, nurses or practitioners to give me a call back to review my prescription so basically I will run out of tablet....was told by the receptionist to 'go to the Walk In Centre'!!! Obviously this practice has too many patient that it can cope with.

Getting an appointment with an actual Doctor is very difficult unless you phone at 8:30 am and get lucky. Staff are very pleasant and helpful as are all the medical staff and it is a shame that this place is let down by a terrible appointment system and you can forget getting any service on Wednesday as the close with the excuse of "Staff Training". The sharing of resources across all their sites has done nothing other than make the service poorer and difficult to access. Profits over service is never good for the customer

Can never get an appointment even when ringing early on a morning.. I have a few problems that I would like to get checked with me and just don't bother ringing because I know the answer " sorry we are full today" Not the best is it when you can't even get in? It needs fixing there should always be appointments available for anybody. It's just a disgrace in this day and age to be honest.

Unable to get an appointment after a major fall, no support given following A and E visit, 2months later finally managed to get in for an MRI to find torn ligaments in foot, micro fractures to Fibula and fluid in joint. Had to buy my own crutches, boot, painkillers etc. And now trying to get an appointment this morning, system online has been down since 6.30a.m :/

Visited this surgery as I had no choice was promised a phone call and had not received one at all after being told by a pharmacist I had to see a doctor and could not be treated by them. Upon walking into the surgery you have to stand and wait to be called over the intercom, so as I stand and wait the receptionist and nurse see me and do nothing 5 minuets later I see the sign that says press and wait for someone to answer but why didnโ€™t she just pick the phone up when she seen me waiting anyway. She lets me in and pulls me to one side and I was told someone tried to contact me this afternoon and I thought lies no they havenโ€™t, I had my phone on me all day and no missed calls. I showed her my phone log of missed calls and she wasnโ€™t even interested basically called me a liar and said that is what it says in the system. I was trying to tell her I desperately needed to see someone and was told you need to phone back in the morning or ring 111, she wasnโ€™t even bothered I was so upset as Iโ€™m not in enough pain as it is and to be made out a liar is so embarrassing and humiliating, Iโ€™ve never had a problem with this surgery until now and can honestly say I will be changing they seriously need to give there heads a shake sort themselves out listen to the patients and get some customer service skills as itโ€™s shocking please avoid and if it happens to you stand your ground and donโ€™t let them get away with it.

I have been trying to call for two days with no answer. Redialled 150 times. Had a family emergency and needed to cancel my appointment. Now it looks bad on me as it looks like I just failed to turn up. Just joined this surgery so could not cancel on line. Really thinking about cutting my losses and using a different surgery if this is the trouble you go through just to speak to someone. My rating is ZERO!!!
