πŸ‘πŸ‘ I wish we had preserves like this in Illinois! Absolutely incredible trails for a local space. There is signage to help donate and keep this preserve taken care of from being bought out by commercial prospects. The trail is very well maintained. I came on a perfect sunny day. People often mention trails, trail, walk, maintained,

What a cool place to have the opportunity to explore and appreciate in Kitsap County. There are quite a lengthy network of trails that are well maintained. If you're lucky, you may get the chance to spot some owls. I was there near dusk in a dark area of the woods and I was greeted by three of them. So cool!

Love it! Wooded, cushiony woodchipped trails. You can go on a rainy day and not get wet. The trail branches off a lot so there are lots of ways to wander. Great running trail. I had no issues taking the baby in the jogging stroller. Make sure you have a map or your phone

We love walking our dogs here. The trails are well maintained and most of them are fairly wide (although there are parts that are single track). Not a lot of roots/tripping hazards on most routes. It is a fairly popular dog walking and running trail, but we have not encountered many off leash dogs, which is nice. Poop bags and a garbage are available at the parking lot, and most people are good about picking up after their dogs. The trail system is quite extensive and you can make lots of different sized loops. There is a map at the parking lot, but no maps on the trail, just numbered locators at junctions.

Love this place. My pups love it too.. πŸ˜‰ Nice trails, super pretty. Ravens and owls. About 45 to an hour around the perimeter depending upon how fast you want to go. Glad it's here.

Very well maintained trail system. Plenty of parking in a lot, rather than having to park along a side street. At the trail head there are picnic tables. The area is a covered shelter for rainy days. It is important to note that there is not a restroom or honey buckets here. Make sure you've taken care of that need before coming out to the preserve. The trail floor is laid out with plenty of bark, making the ground soft and helps to deter from mud puddles. There are many interconnected loops so you can decide how long you'd like to walk. In addition, trail markers are in red and posted at Y and T sections. You can enjoy gentle uphill slopes and meandering through the old growth trees. This nature preserve is quite a gem. It wasn't crowded on a Saturday mid morning. I spent 2 hours, did a larger loop for a 3 mile walk.

Cool place to walk trails in the woods. You can download the trails map which is really helpful. Trails are easy enough for small children to walk, with cool stuff to see- leaves as big as their heads and in fall, all different kinds of mushrooms and fungus.

Love taking the kids here to trail and teach them about wildlife and plants in the PNW. When they were really little we would hunt dragons ☺️ and it's been a family fav since. Close to home so there's no long drive. Clear areas for a water/food break. Animal friendly and restrooms. Close to the park and waterfront with a dock.

Great place for a short walk. Using far outer loop, roughly 3 miles. Take a map and use the numbered trail markers or you could get lost for a decent amount of time.

Best place to go a stroll! The trees and ambiance never disappoint. Further in it's quiet and peaceful but initially the road can be heard still which is a little bit of a distraction but goes away pretty quickly.

Went for a walk here with my good friend and his old dog. This is a great trail network for a morning or evening walk in the woods. Very well maintained trails.

This preserve is wonderful! The trails are well kept and are mulched, which keeps them from getting too muddy in all the rain. TONS of trails and beautiful moss-covered trees. I love bringing my doggos here here a good little hike!

Awesome place to walk your leashed dog and see the amazing flora and fauna. I have heard the folks that manage the preserve get many many calls of unleashed dogs and have no one to enforce the rules. As a result, they might have to close it to all dogs. Good reason to keep your dog leashed so we can all keep enjoying this beautiful place!

Beautiful place!! Easy to feel immersed in wilderness, yet it’s quite accessible. Lots of beautiful twists and turns, groves of large majestic trees.

Great place to go walking or for a short run with your best friend. The bad thing is they put wood chips on all the trails can make it very difficult to walk or run on them, and impossible to ride a bike. I used to like to go here after work for a quick couple loops on my bike but I can no longer do that.

Plenty of parking. There's a very nice and clean pavilion with four picnic tables at the trailhead. Surprisingly, nobody was using it on a Sunday afternoon so we had a snack break after walking the trails. The trails are wide enough and clear enough to bring my two-year-old and four-year-old without fear of them getting separated from us. I also had them in a wagon and it was fairly easy to pull even though the trail is covered in wood chips. An all-terrain baby stroller would work great but definitely not a regular one. There weren't as many people on the trail as i had anticipated would be on a weekend, but then again it was mid 80 degrees.

Illahee Preserve is a great place to workout or cool off. Overall the trails require low effort and are cleared back well so there is little foliage to step over. The trails cover a large space and have multiple places to loop back, so your visit can be as short or as long as you need.

Wonderful walk among the old growth forest. Great for my dog. She can run and sniff all the new smells she finds. Easy to choose long or short walk. Always maintained with utmost value placed to the natural surroundings.

Very nice, good place for a little nature walk or hike. I'm not a huge fan though because of personal issues I have with those trails.
