This is the worst public library's I've ever been in. I come here to study several times a week and never ONCE has it been sufficiently quiet enough. There is a complete disregard for being quiet and staff workers seem to not give two clucks about the elementary school children who flood through the front doors every afternoon only to play tag and talk wildly about their fascinations with puberty. In fact, as I write this, there are two females who are talking rather loudly about autistic kids and other various learning disabilities that their child(s) seem to be suffering from. Fine. But I feel like I'm now fully submerged in their conversation. Ladies, there are about 19 Starbucks on this Island; please pick one of those. In addition to that, there's some dude with a larger-than-life hammer going to pound town right outside the wall where I am nearest. I understand construction and everything, but why couldn't this wait until all the kids are done with school i.e. next week? At least try and coordinate different hours when maybe the Library is closed or at its lowest amount of visitors? Something needs to be done. Hopefully the new construction will address some of these problems. Recommendation: Enclose the childrens and/or "young adults" section with 3-inch thick glass and acoustics to drown out their constant wailing. Honestly, I think the problem begins with the staff. Although they are all friendly and seem to be very helpful; they don't show any inclination to interfere with the noise origins. I'm now leaving this sanctuary of stress on account of my bleeding ears. I really hope someone who holds authority reads this and makes changes.....or at least pretends to care. Cheers.

A nice selection of materials to choose from. However, this was the final day of the book sales of donated materials and prices were about the same as the every day ones. The only difference seemed to be the wider variety of choices. (Other branches have a "fill a bag for $5" specials on the final day.) The branch is now open on Sunday, the day we are driving g home through Mercer Island after church, so we are happy to find our favorite magazines available again (unique to this branch).

A perfect place to study, write, or have a meetings with great hours and staff. (Can be somewhat noisy even in the quiet area, so some noise cancelling headphones may be required.) But, overall, a real dope place.

Very nice library, full of options, nice staff and a quiet place. I would just suggest to leave the pregnancy books out of the lower shelf. I would love to take more time to go through the titles.

Very nice, mostly calm and quiet library. It is very pleasantly bright inside. At times high school kids congregate to study and work here, so once in a while it can get a bit noisy. However, that is an exception, not a rule. Comfortable furniture. Nice staff. Nice surroundings.

very nice King County library. always have plenty kiosk for check out and borrowing books couldn't be easier. you can put books on hold and pick it up whenever you are ready (they send you notification emails) I have borrowed many books/DVDs from here and it was always convenient and staffs are nice (except the one lady with British accent, she is kind of a Grinch )

The staff is friendly and helpful. We like that they allow us to use their printer.

Quiet library in a beautifully landscaped area. There are multiple meeting rooms that are located away from the study areas. There are public computers although less than the other King county libraries. The library has all of the services that you would expect.
