I decided to visit my sister this weekend in Washington state and my had a little girls weekend trip, MUCH FUN!!! One of the restaurants we had dinner at was called The Matador. It's serves Mexican Food. The food was amazing!!!! And the presentation of everything was to die for it just made you want to eat your food right away. The ambiance of the whole restaurant reminded me of day of the dead meets the old wild west, twisted with a little modern flare it hard it's own killer vibe to the scene. The music up to date, the drinks had an interesting flare and good blends to them and of course you could always go with your classic wine and beer of choice if you so choose to. This is a must try if your a foodie and you like to be on the scene as well!!

So I was told this was a super expensive restaurant, and me being cheap I never wanted to go. I was hungry and was passing by so I stopped in. Very nice and cozy. Wait staff were welcoming. I of course chose to sit by the fire. And just my luck it was happy hour. I was giving chips and salsa while I waited, delicious 😋 I chose the nachos and the prawns!!! Both were delicious 😋 the nachos were only 7 bucks. But what I realized is, there was more chips in that pile than anything else. I had a to go box. I baked my soggy left overs the next afternoon. Still a good snack. 21+ restaurant which I don't mind. I would like to go again trying different things on the menu. I've also been coming here for lunch, I just love the menu, I can have a large meal or a small snack and be satisfied.

I had my doubts initially due to the sheer difficulty of parking. We may have had to park a few blocks away but once we stepped inside... Everything changed. The decor, the atmosphere, the smell, and the bustle of bodies, it was magical. Happy hour is no joke. Straightforward and simple. The Grande Nacho is MASSIVE. Their unlimited chips and salsa are A REAL TREAT AND HARD TO PUT DOWN. The server had a personality that was unforgettable. I was smiling, laughing, and felt so comfortable. Thank you so much Baily (sp?). We will never forget you.

Great ambience and wide selection of drinks and food. Brussel sprouts (average), Nachos (amazing taste and huge quantity), margaritas (great) and they have this happy hour deal for certain items in the menu both early evening and late night (after 10 pm) Would definitely visit this restaurant again when in the area.

The happy hour at this place is THE HAPPY HOUR OF THE TOWN! The best food you could possibly get for the best prices ever! They really know how to market them selves sheer genius. This place is packed for a reason. There is also a Matador in West Seattle as well if you are up North. The servers are sweet & the food comes out so fast it’s almost considered fast food in my humble opinion. Every time I have friends that come in town I take them to the West Seattle location because I live in Kent however a group of friends & I have been coming to this location because many of them live further south so I’m grateful for both locations. Stop by & try the food & any of the MANY & I SAY MANY OF THE TEQUILA & MEZCAL selections they have!

Excellent drinks, appetizers and service for late afternoon break from shopping. The blood orange margarita is really good. A must try is the fire roasted corn esquites appetizer, I could make a meal out this easily..

Cute place and recommend by the hotels in the area. It is very packed with people and Loud for conversations if not in a booth. Had a variety of happy hour options. Crispy brussel sprouts and fish tacos were the best. Salsa is too spicy for people who don't like heat. I loved it. Server was great and drinks are mixed to get you lit versus flavor. It's pretty dark in there so we used our camera light to see the menu.

Definitely a great atmosphere here, just a little on the louder and busy side. The food is good, but the service not so much. The times that I’ve been here (4x) either something was missing from my order, the wait time was ridiculously long or our waitress/waiter took quite some time to come back with water etc. Parking isn’t too great so be advised.

First time visiting. Ordered the pork belly tacos, bean dip and steak fries. With the intent to order more food. But those were enough. The pork belly tacos were amazing. I would highly recommend them to whoever will be visiting them.

This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. Very rustic, warm, and inviting. We were there on a very busy Saturday night. We'd come for dinner and, rather than wait for a table, we sat at the bar. The food took forever to arrive, and wasn't all that good when it did. I had carne asada beef tacos that were more chewy than I prefer. The salsa we had was decent, though I prefer salsa with more kick. We'll probably try it again.

A group of us stopped in on a Saturday afternoon while downtown playing a CluedUpp wizard mystery game. We ordered nachos and they were great. It was much larger than we expected so we shared it among the five of us. Delicious. We were fortunate to have Ricky as the bartender, we sat at the bar, and he was extremely professional and personable. And his skills at crafting drinks was impressive.

We sat at the fire and it was a fun place to sit. The service was fast and friendly. The food was great. We just stopped in for a light snack and ordered the nachos. They were overflowing with cheese, meat, beans, and guacamole. The salsa was very spicy which we love. If you're not into spicy you may not enjoy it as much

The hot honey tacos were tangy, sweet, bright, salty, and such a great savory treat after a long day. I want to go home and make a shredded chicken version 😁. Not to mention, the service was awesome. Our server was friendly and checked on us regularly. The atmosphere is definitely part of the price tag, but it is worth it as long as you can afford it! I took some photos as inspo for decor.

We haven’t been to the Matador in a long time so we decided to try it out for lunch the other day. We were pleased to find it was not that crowded as our previous visits for dinner and late night drinks found it to be quite busy. The decor is very warm and inviting. We were seated immediately and sat at a communal table right by the fire. I opted for the Tortilla soup as it was a chilly day and my wife had the taco salad which she enjoyed. I thought the soup was good if a little spicy for me. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. All in all, we enjoyed our visit.

Food came out looking like it belonged on a magazine cover, and the taste was phenomenal. I’m excited to go on a date night in a couple weeks with my husband there because the first time I went with friends and definitely will be returning many times again. My Server was excellent and the atmosphere was so peaceful, and inviting. Great portion size and most of everything cost under $25 for any meal. One of my friends Mills came up to $19, the other came up to $20, and mine was $29. This included our drink with our meal. I live about an hour from this restaurant and it’s worth the drive. Last the chips and salsa are amazing and complementary! Enjoy

The atmosphere is magnificent to have a few drinks at the bar, we really enjoy being in this atmosphere of this place no complaints, every time we come here we enjoy the stay, and the service, good customer service.

We had a concert at the Rialto Theater and this place was easily in walking distance. I had the Ribeye Tacos very tasty and chips n salsa was good too. It was busy, but we got seated in their covered outdoor section right away and the heaters kept us warm, it was about 38° that day.

We LOVE matador, and visit pretty often:) our favorites are the grande nachos, habanero enchiladas and the black bean dip, and we’ve liked everything we’ve tried over the years. Tamarind margarita is delicious, as are all of the others (they’re are plenty to choose from!), and for those who don’t love tequila, other cocktails are just as tasty. We are definitely not the only people who love this place, so be mindful of typical busy hours where waits can be lengthier (weekend nights for example) because Matador is no exception! But the hours are great (especially in the current times when many surrounding restaurants are closing early), so it’s often an after work hangout. I can’t remember what time this takes effect, but at some point it’s 21+ only. Fantastic seating options: outside, inside booths and tables, or inside bar (and part of the bar surrounds a lovely fire pit!)

This place is really fun! The atmosphere and decor are very unique. Notice the picture of our table. The food is very good, we have been there 2 times and never been disappointed. Be sure and try one of three appetizers.

We love coming here! The food and drinks are so good. Great happy hour too! Shelby was our server tonight and she was amazing! She provided us with excellent service, gave great suggestions and was very nice!

The nachos were huge! My friend and a went here recently and enjoyed our entire meal. The service was good once they actually acknowledged we were there. It took about 15 minutes for a server to come to the table after we were seated. I think they were changing shifts and no one told us it would be a while. I had the shrimp tacos, and ended up sharing the second one because there was no way I could eat both tacos and the nachos. The steak on the nachos was incredible and it made me want to try their steak tacos next time. We only finished about two thirds of the nachos because we both had other dishes, tacos and some incredible brussel sprouts. My blood orange margarita was perfect, but a bit on the small side. I like the atmosphere as well, and may ask to sit on the covered patio next time.

I had the grande nachos (not pictured) and I tried my friends bbq cauli wings they were delicious. It's always packed and a wait during happy hour but we didn't have to wait long. They have outdoor seating available. The hostess was very patient and getting everyone checked in. Our server was great, she helped by giving several recommendations.

Absolutely love coming here for date night and enjoy their cocktails and appetizers. The cocktails are a hit and miss on the bartender. I have been here three times and two out of three the drinks were amazing!!
