Fantastic preserve with lots of well-marked trails. Parts can be muddy after a rain but it was in good condition when we were there in late April. There is a parking lot but it was nearly full on a Saturday at 4p.

One can access this from Sahale street but this entrance has stairs so cannot bring anything with wheels as the trail difficulty is narrow and steep. But there’s a huge nature preserve of 524 acres. It’s beautiful multiple landscapes in the nature area! Go in spring there's a field of waist high purple flowers one can walk a trail truly breathtaking! Posts show your direction or various paths and also the severity of the trail for hikers and just walkers. Dogs love the meadow's, forests and small creeks flowing ever so slightly around entire area. A quick drink or cooling off for them. ( On a leash tho ). Also have restrooms . That matters 😢

Just finished hiking here and it's definitely going to be my go-to spot. Excited to come back to explore more of the trails. Location is great as it's close to the city but super tranquil and quiet. There are also a number of picnic tables. Parking lot was easy to find and had a number of spots (roughly 10-12) though on a busier day might recommend carpooling. Bathroom was simple to find and open. Beautiful trail with a mix of gravel and dirt, meadows and forest. There are lots of small drawbridge throughout the hike and plenty of birds! 👍👍Big plus was that there were posts, markers and signs at each point. See pictures for detail. Recommend for anyone looking for a easy to slightly medium hike depending on which trail you take. Notes: Summary - took trails 1-7, 9-12, 14-15, about 40 minutes give or take. Trails 1-5 are more gravel with a view of the meadows. Trails 5-12 were mostly dirt with a little gravel here and there. Mostly foresty and shady. Trail 14-15 was gravel and a mix of meadows and forest. 1-4 gravel and meadows 5 To 6 more dirt path incline more foresty 6 To 7 downhill, forest, shady 7 To 9 more even To 10 downhill To 11 pretty even with slight inclines here and there To 12 mostly downhill mix of gravel and dirt road, end opens to meadows field To 14 gravel shady, super pretty To 15 super easy

What a beautiful hidden gem. Very well maintained and plenty of trails to explore. You can find maps all throughout, making it easy to plan out your path. This preserve is the perfect hiking spot for people with lower mobility or asthma, as well as young children. Just be careful of the wooden gazing platforms and bridges when they are wet. They are completely slick!

Good place to hike at. Open for the public. Easy start going down but end part is an incline going up. You can plan your hike time with the trails in this reserve. You'll feel very close to nature with all the tall green trees and plants. Feel and breathe in the clean, fresh air in this place. Not crowded when we went on a Saturday. There is free parking. No restroom but there is a Honey Bucket portalet at the entrance.

Great to be able to check Google maps to see how busy it is, and true to map info provided, this place wasn't very busy on a hot summer Sunday afternoon. Easy to find, decent parking lot, restrooms, maps, well marked trails, a sweet lil stream, lots of shade or sun, picnic benches here and there near trails. Really a lovely park, away from freeway noise and hullabaloo. Bring water and a lunch. Stay a while. Watch the birds. Watch plants grow. I fell in love with the rugged gray tree bark, tiny hemlock pine cones, and the masses of cheerful pineapple weed growing along the crunchy gravel trail. A perfect park.

Beautiful place for a quick escape into nature. Trails are well maintained and marked. All intersections have a map with directions and distances. Terrain is super varied from flat to having a decent incline.

Clean trails there are easy to follow. There is a trail map at every major intersection with a you are here sign that so you are never lost. Two parking lots. The lots were full but I didn't see a ton of people on the trails. Not a lot of elevation. The buttercups were thriving. The lupines were still out though a little fried from the recent heat. The lupines are between intersection 4 & 5. Not sure if there's more somewhere else on the preserve since I didn't get a chance to walk through all of it. Great for young children. The lower trailhead does not have a toilet at the parking lot, but if you start going down the trail, there is a toilet within 5 minutes of walking. No parking fee. Leashed dogs allowed.

This is an excellent little trail network with access from two separate roads. There is ample parking at both the upper and lower entrances with restroom facilities. There is a switchbacking trail to the upper section on a forest hillside. The lower section has a webbing of dirt trails through marshland and prairies. There are wooden bridges over Evans Creek and boardwalks through the wetland. Great place for birding and enjoying nature.

Love this park. Plenty of diverse terrain trails to walk around. They have a great area by the bottom parking lot for Picnicking. Great for a trail run or a walk with your dog.

Good trail to enjoy the calm peaceful greenery around. It felt good to see the restoration initiatives here to bring back more lush greenery around. Must visit for a quick walk in the woods.

Beautiful reserve with a variety of trails to choose from, including a moderate grade hiking trail. There are easier trails for the family and kids as well ☺️ I recommend wearing shoes that can handle some mud as well, especially if you're going after or during a good rain 👍

This is a great place for an hour or two walk. The trails go from wetlands to hills. Each trail junction has a map and location markers. I really enjoyed it. Thank you Sammamish maintaining this preserve.

Nice 1.7 mile easy loop trail, point 9-11 is a very steep walk for about 4-5 minutes but you can choose to skip. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the walk at an easy pace.

Great little park to feel like your out in the woods. Right in my neighborhood and I was completely unaware! Great place to walk the dog(s) that even has a decent section of trail that's gated and fenced as an off-leash area... Buddy loved it, especially since I don't think he gets why I need to put his leash on as he grew up in an area where he walked and ran free all day long. I think it makes him feel like he can't be trusted, which is the furthest thing from the truth.

  • 4/5 C. 10 months ago on Google
There has a very short trail, the longest loop trail is about 2.7km but part of it was closed. It’s not busy at all even in the weekends. Be aware somebody saw a black bear there, so I don’t think it’s truly dog friendly if there has possibility that you may meet a bear.

Nice area to get out with leased dogs. Some part of trail is closed for maintenance but you can still get a good walk in.

  • 5/5 Teresa B. 3 years ago on Google
It is a beautiful and peaceful location. You can so a nice walk in the meadows with trails, or tackle the hills for a more robust challenge. The area is beautiful at sunset, lots of blackberries to pick and ear along the way and allows you to find peace, while so close to the city. Amazing place.

Looking to get away with your little ones in tow? go no further than Evans Creek Preserve in Sammamish by Sahalee. Hike down to the beautiful meadows, have a picnic and enjoy the bountiful natural surroundings. It's gorgeous!!

  • 5/5 Ryan L. 3 years ago on Google
Not a lot of shade to start the hike but plenty of shade once you get in. Trails were well maintained and even the field was recently mowed. One of my wife's and I favorite hike since there is clear marked trails and several routes you can take.

Having lived nearby, we didn't know about this gem until recently. Loops and loops and loops. One can spend 30 mins or hours; walking through woods, meadows, over and around creeks and streams. It's a beautiful park.
