I got mixed feelings about this safari after visiting it for the first time. Its it a great experience for kids to be able to get up close to the animals for feeding and petting. My son enjoyed the elephant ride immensely. On the other hand, i feel sad for the aminals to be kept in poor living conditions and to be kept there solely for our enjoyment. Some of the animals looks emaciated. 😓😢 I do hope that by us paying to visit this place, it will help to improve the living conditions of the animals and the up keep of this safari.

I don’t know what I expect from a zoo, seeing big birds like eagles and vulture in such tiny cages is so disturbingly unnatural. The only two tigers are so skinny you can even notice it from the other side of smudged glass barrier. Did you know how otters have their favorite rocks to help it open its food? The otter I saw was somehow kept between two reptile cages with the same exact condition; concrete walls, small space, no running water, and again dirty glass barrier. It has no time worrying about having a favorite rock since it’s being kept in a cage far from its supposed habibat. All it does was just making depressing noises and going around in circles possibly all day. I also don’t understand the need to chain up one of the elephants near the entrance so the visitors could always see it. Aren’t they magnificently intelligent animal that supposed to be able to roam free? It was not entertaining at all to see it playing by itself (yes, it showers itself with hay when it realized we looked at it and even struck a little pose when I took its picture) the zookepeers are all friendly and tried to initiate convos and can’t be the ones to blame for this. I believe they’re equally in need of a better management and trainings.

Entrance fee is 120K rupiah per pax for foreign tourists and one can probably finish walking around in 1.5 - 2 hours. Friendly staff and good variety of animals for a small zoo. Some animals enclosures could be cleaner and better-maintained and I wish the Emma the Sumatran elephant could have a bigger area to roam around …🥺

There is enough for the children to see, but not exactly alot. This is a visit of about 90 minutes. Just like just about everything else in Bintan, it is also somewhat overpriced. First there is the entrance fee, then it costs IDR500,000 for a buggy which can take up to 5 pax (we needed two buggies because we had more than 5 pax), and animal feed (vegetables, carrots, and a piece of chicken for the crocodile) costs IDR250,000 per bag (even in Singapore, I should be able to get all of those at the supermarket for 30% of that cost). There is some effort to provide a decent-looking enclosure for some of the animals, but for the others, I have to agree with the other reviewers that they are kept in bare-looking cages which hardly meet the animals' needs.

Quite expensive. If you are not local, it cost 150k to go in. For the buggy, it’s 500k. The animals are kept in small enclosures, except for the elephants and monkeys, the former are allowed to wander while the latter are trapped on small chunks of land. However, they have a variety of animals, not a bad experience overall.

Not the best safari of course, but it is still okay. The staffs were very friendly, but that is all. Other than that, the road leading to the place was not improved and challenging even for cars, the price was quite expensive for locals, the animals were living in poor condition and a few of them live alone, the buildings and facilities were not well maintained (even the glasses of the snake aquariums were very stained that I can't even clearly see what was inside), and the worst of all, there are no tour guide—the receptionist just hand you a map so you can look for the animals all by yourself

I would like to praise our safari guide Syadiah, for bringing us on a wonderful guided safari tour. We are amazed with her professionalism, knowledgeable and kindness towards the animals. Our safari guided tour took around 1hour 10mins (slightly shorter compared to others) because the weather was *extremely hot* causing certain animals to be unactive/sleepy which I don't blame them, as the safari is fully exposed under the hot sun. Mainly just 'touch and go' at each animal spots. Same as other reviews - I've got mixed feelings of the animals' wellbeing towards the end of the trip as most animals we fed seem very hungry (mainly the deers); and that the safari management keeps hard-selling the animal feeding, buggy transport services, hats, umbrellas, ice creams etc, upon extra charges (our tourist ticket entrance is already quite costly). We received side eye treatments when we kindly decline as we came very well-prepared. We (2pax) don't need a buggy to drive and stop and drive and stop at all the animal stops as the safari is our FIRST destination on our first day in Bintan. Overall it is recommended to individuals that are energetic and able to walk around the open air safari concept that is under the scorching sun to experience the unique tour. Eventhough we went around 10am, it was still very hot. Come prepared with your own water, sunblock, mosquito repellent, umbrella, long sleeves, hats.

Our second time there as it is a fun and interesting place, especially for families with children. Feed the rabbits, horse, and even ostriches. No animal show but we could see the elephants feeding. Unfortunately it is too expensive and costs $50 for a buggy ride, or $25 for the feed food, and $15 for an elephant ride. We choose to walk (the place can be covered in 1.5hr by foot). There are several nice scenic spots for photo taking.

Lovely place for a family half-day tour. We easily spent 3 hours at this place. It’s like a mini zoo with plenty of local animals. The kids can interact and feed many of the animals such as rabbits, tortoises, deers and apes, and even the elephant. Elephant ride is fun and you sit on a blanket right on the elephant’s back!

Awesome place for the kids to tour around the safari of Lagoi. Animals are energetic compared to other zoo I've visited. The only downside is it's still under construction for some areas. Try TravelGoGo for a hassle free tour and do opt for buggy ride around the place!

Too hot if you don’t rent the golf cart, feeling this place needs animal specialist to care about the animals…

When I went there last week though it was not fully developed yet, there were very interesting features to the zoo. Like they built a underground passage with glass windows. This allowed us to get closer to see the tigers! Weather was cloudy the day I went but it can get pretty warm as there are no shelters. They do provide straw hats too. The guide for our tour around the zoo was very informative, jovial and patient. Overall a flgreat experience for the family and kids

This is a terrible place. Very cruel. The otters are kept on their own in small concrete pitts. No grass, no water to swim in. It's a living hell. The pictures put up on the park website are nothing like what it is like. This place should be shut down

Many types of animals & ticket prices are also not expensive (Adults IDR 40k & Children IDR 30k). I recommend friends to go there if you are in Bintan 👍 Tips: it's better to use Autan ( lotion mosquito repellent or Sun block lotion (there are mosquitoes ) Maybe because I was wearing a sun block so I wasn't approached by mosquitoes.. But my hubby & son were bitten by mosquitoes all the time..

Been there twice already and enjoyed myself. I esp would like to thank Mr Jomes, our tour guide. He was fun to be around and helped us take photos. He also gave us information about each animal and was very jovial. I do however wish there was more space allocated for the otters especially. They only had a little pool of water and tank.

This is not a rescue centre for animals it's cruelty at its worst Small cages traumatised animals it needs to be greatly improved or shut down the otters were screaming at the gate I'll never forget this horrific day Please relocate them to a a pond there's plenty of water for them to swim in there, they live well with orangutans like in the Singapore zoo please don't torture the poor otters just relocate them to swimming areas

I liked my experience here, it was so fun to see all the animals. The monkeys were very playful and I found some a bit funny. But there is only one problem, the zoo has a lot of mosquitos. I understand that its a safari but when I was trying to feed the tortoise, I think I got bit by mosquitos. Even with the patch and spray, they still were able to bite me. The tour guide was really nice and I liked riding the elephant.

Very sad to see animals caged for the whole life in such poor conditions. We saw an owl being chained and put outside just to attract people to take a close look. The windows to observe animals are quite stained and sometimes even broken. We paid high price to enter but this is definitely not a place worth visiting if you truly care about animals.
