First of all, this review is more related to the practitioner than the hospital. The front desk staff was amazing, friendly and made me feel at peace, a welcome escape from what I was going through . I was immediately brought to a room and seen by a nurse within just a few minutes. I went to this emergency room a couple years ago and had an amazing physician. Very educated, knowledgeable, kind, caring and compassionate. Unfortunately my visit there this week did not involve the same physician and instead I had an egotistical, rude, dismissive Physicians Assistant, Krista Patel. I was sent to the ER by my doctor, who asked that they call her to discuss immediate treatment. Krista Patel, void of compassion, empathy or kindness flat out refused to call my specialist (as though no one would direct her on my care). She rolled her eyes and then went to gossip about me to the nurses and other employees and spent a total of two minutes with me. She was rude, unkind and the worst medical person I’ve dealt with in my life. It’s sad that during our toughest moments we run into people like Krista. She is not an asset to Advent Health. The way she gossips about patients without realizing she can be overheard is disgusting. She should be removed immediately. I gave her my ICD 10 diagnosis of my condition and while it is rare (and I have struggled with it the last five weeks), she had never heard of it. Instead of looking it up or even googling it, she wrote her own diagnosis which was wrong. I knew I made a bad decision but it was too late. I really wish I would have gotten the knowledgeable friendly physician I had a few years ago. Where did he go? Krista Patel -an abomination to healthcare, patients and the practitioner/patient relationship. Please take a long look in the mirror before you treat others the way you did me. Please do not gossip about your patience to your team members. It’s not a good luck. Do better.

I went to the Er after the other Advent walk in clinic has the wrong information on the site. When I walked in the gentle men at the door asked if my symptoms were covid related. They have me a regular and N95 mask. I went in took my vitals and waited an hour before I was triaged. There were about 5 people ahead of me. My temperature was 102.5. I started feeling sick in the morning at work and by the end of the day I had a fever. The staff was nice to me. No one made me feel like I had the plague. There were some angry patients but they took care of me. I went into my own room, I was given a cheat X ray that looked fine. I was given ibuprofen for the fever to go down. I was given an ekg to make sure my heart was good. Upon dis hate I was given the necessary medications. Turns out I am positive with covid. The irony is that I am vaccinated. If vaccinated feels like this I would hate to see what it can really do. This is one time I can say that this ER did not disappoint. PEOPLE GET VACCINATED! This stuff is serious.

My experience was AWFUL I went in during a full on panic attack and I was treated like some sort of pill chasing degenerate. I have suffered from anxiety my entire adult life and I am not new when it comes to the symptoms of panic, however...I had spent the entire night trying to calm my self down to no avail and I didn't feel comfortable self medicating further without the supervision of a doctor and it was too early to see my own. I was talked down to and treated like I was beneath them and that I was wasting their time. I could hear them talking about me whenever they walked away. I had them unhook me when I first got in and they came in and told me my vitals were good when had never been reconnected. I finally just ripped off my ekg stickers and checked myself out. I will go elsewhere the next time I need medical attention.

The hospitals in my area have horrible service and more horror stories than happy endings. I was amazed when I chose to try Advent Health Wesley chapel at how quickly they triaged me and all the other patients. Then to see how the continued to be the most organized and informative health care establishment I've ever experienced. They did my father's hernia surgery they again were incredibly organized took amazing care of him and kept us informed constantly thought the surgery and in his post OP care. He had some complications recently and even with his surgeon on vacation he was able to speak to his surgeon within 30 minutes of speaking to the nurse and scheduled him to come in to be checked out. When my son got sick after seeing one ER in my area and his pediatrician and not receiving the care I felt he desperately needed because in my gut as a mom I knew something was really wrong. They treated him so kindly, took all his lab samples, and got him in a room quickly. X-ray was there before we were and they got him x-rayed immediately. In less than an hour they were able to answer all my questions that two different facilities couldn't tell me in two days! My two year old had caught Rhinovirus probably from daycare and got secondary pneumonia an an ear infection! Where otherwise I was told he was fine and to give him otc allergy and cold meds! I was grateful for Advent Health Wesley Chapel that night...we were able to get hike before the hurricane scare and he is recovering very well. It is a 40 minute drive for us but it is well with it considering their quality of care.

It took them more than 3 hours to take us in on a “very slow night”. If my mom wasn’t in severe pain i would’ve took her some place else. Do not come here if you’re in pain and want to be seen!!!!! I told them my mom feels like she’s going to pass out and they replied “we’re waiting on a room to get cleaned”.

Broke my foot last weekend and made a trip to the ER. Everyone was courteous and friendly. We were in and out in less than three hours, which was a pleasant surprise. Sebastian, who set my splint, was very enjoyable to talk with. Diagnosis, discharge information, and follow up instructions were clear.

Why this gets a low rate is because if the front desk. The lady played with her hair and looked at her cell phone. She never looked up at me. My husband went to park the car and walk back to the desk and the lady never looked up. Another staff member came from the back to the desk and only then did she acknowledge me. She is in an ER perhaps she should look up sometimes. The rest of the visit was magical. Fast efficient attention. Reasonable pain management. Kind staff that did their jobs well and with compassion. The doctor wore all black, wrinkled and dirty scrubs. Thought he was cleaning crew.

Took my immune compromised two year old who has severe allergies in because his mouth was starting to swell and was starting to get a rash. Instead of prioritizing possible anaphylaxis and evaluating him immediately they had us sitting in the waiting room until I finally left to bring him to our usual hospital that is an hour away. Thankfully my child is ok now. I understand our medical system is a mess right now, but there are still medical problems that still exist beyond Covid and it’s clear they only cared about Covid. Edit to point out the irony of the hospitals response. 😐

Your institution delivered comfort and care to my husband as if they were taking care if their own father. They washed the wound, around the area, before they address the inside. Thank you for caring, you're the Good Samaritan.

This ER needs to be stopped. i went there for my wife . Having minor accidents. They did’t do any first aid . After waiting 4 hours one Dr practitioner came and just mentioned take counter medicine. I have to suggest for injection . It’s worst experience . Service is also horrible . No one taking attention just they will come and say shortly will come . Guys don’t go there don’t take risk for your health life. I have to clean up the bruises and blood stains. Guys Please go somewhere else.

So far this is the worst ER I have ever been to. We have been waiting 4 hours. I came in with stomach pain, headache, nausea and loss of appetite. They ask your symptoms so that they can weed out who is seen first. But not only that when they take you back for lab work they only did a covid test. The lab tech thought it was weird and checked to see if he should do more but they told him no. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t get blood work, what if the covid test come back negative. Now we are going to have to wait for you to take blood. I know there are people who have been here way longer than I they are still waiting.

Dad (89yrs) was brought to Advent ER with a hernia problem. He was tended to immediately. There were some moments where we had to wait a while for a catscan and other lab work. Staff was very gracious & supportive. His bless them.

This hospital was good when it was Wesley Chapel hospital, that name cared for the patients. Advent health has become a massive cattle call place. I have gone to the ER with the same complaints of abdominal pain, causing my blood pressure to be 6 digits, I’m told everything is fine, treated like a junky and my very last visit I was told that “everyone knows hospitals are all out of Mylanta” “he just didn’t have any” I begged him to admit me and find WHY I KEEP ON GETTING breathe taken right under ribs stabbing pain and why my throat is so tight I feel like I am chocking all the time. NOBODY other than nurses and techs care. I have good insurance, I wasn’t a priority. Really sad because the newest hospital up the street on Bruce B Downs is not any better.

I went to the ER after I was in a car accident. My ribs were really sore and my family insisted I go. The lady who took my vitals was nice enough but she messed up the papers saying it was my right side that hurt instead of my left. This made the process take even longer because they thought they had to take more x-rays. After being at the hospital for 7 hours I was finally given pain medication and was informed I broke 3 ribs. I feel like they didn’t do enough testing considering I had just gotten in a car accident and a number of things could be going on. Overall it wasn’t the worst experience Ive had I just wish they would’ve realized the severity to my injury and that I could’ve gotten medication sooner.

Terrible experience, wouldn’t discharge me until I had a panic attack causing more pain after asking multiple times to be discharged. Also, no one was able to do an IV after multiple attempts. I was there for a total of 4 hours. I was seen quickly and able to get checked out within the first hour but for some reason I was sitting in a room for 3 more hours attempting to get blood taken. Incredibly painful. I can go to Quest and get blood taken in 5 minutes in and out in 15 minutes. I'm not sure what the processes are there but it's not good at all.

I had been to AdventHealth Wesley Chapel ER previously but had not been satisfied with the care that was provided then. This specific visit I was really satisfied with the with the care I received from the front desk to the nurses and doctor. Very professional I didn’t have to wait long. Dr. Ashley Jane D’Ambrosio took care of me, she was prompt and knowledgeable she took the time to explain everything in detail I got to see her twice and both times she was very informative and not rushed. Upon getting ready to be discharged the nurse assigned to me went over step by step pretty much everything that had been done to me and answered questions I had she was very knowledgeable caring but yet professional and friendly. The facility itself is kept very clean.

I came to the emergency department for second-degree burns. I was taken into the ED right away. I was immediately triaged and saw the doctor, who prescribed medicine, after examining the burns. After receiving a referral to see a burn specialist within 48 hours, I was discharged, all within about 30 minutes. I received great care, and everything seemed to flow with hardly any down time. Thank you, Advent!

The nurses and staff were outstanding and very friendly. The doctor appeared sleepy and nonchalant, just a regular day on the job for him. I guess empathy with doctors is another skill or course they should take.

I have to say that from the moment I entered the ER until I left, everyone, I mean, everyone from the front desk, the nurses, and my attending Physician were absolutely fantastic. As a matter a fact every patient that arrived was also treated super nice. They were all friendly and extremely courteous. I am so happy to have chosen this ER for my medical needs. To anyone reading this review please do NOT pay attention to any negative comments. These men and women working at this medical facility, and all other facilties, for that matter, deal with many, many patients each and every day, and it is a very difficult task, but they do it to the best of their ability. And in this clinic, it shows how much they care about their patients. Thank you all for your service.

Not a good place to go for treatment. The doctors don't care about the patients. You get hurried up front with curtains instead of actual room with privacy. No nurse to help you or check on you the whole time you are in the consulting area. The security guards and nurses are too busy having fun and cracking jokes with one another instead of taking care of the patients. The security hangs out with the nurses instead of being in their security quarters. Only way you get help is if you go to the nurses desk and then they act like they cant be bothered with you or you are beneath them to be cared for. No privacy for you while you're in the ER department waiting for you to get test results. Takes forever for the doctor to come tell you anything about tests. They are too busy trying to rush out or answer phone calls while they are supposed to be caring for you, without answering any questions you might have about tests or follow-up visits. No bedside manner at all..Run don't walk to any facility but here

The Greatest of doctors and nurses. The dedication and the care for the patients is excellent. No waiting more then 10 minutes to be taking care off, from the receptionist to the last person that checked you out, they are wonderful professionals. That’s what I call caring and loving your profession. Thank you so much for making me well. You are the best.

We had a great experience here. Took our 5 year old daughter in and from the moment we walked up to the front desk everyone was so kind and professional. They were great with my daughter and also listened to my concerns. They made my daughter feel comfortable which is huge because she gets nervous, they even gave her a teddy bear. They saw us immediately and were quick with everything. Best ER experience I have had.

The ER staff at Advent Wesley Chapel were professional and I appreciate the care I received from the ER doctor on staff. All personal from desk staff, triage, transport, RT, and nurses were kind. I was able to ask questions and received answers. I left there glad I had experienced such professional care which is so important when you are sick. Thank you.

The ER staff were efficient. The CT and ultrasound techs were both great. The OB/GYN MD was great and certainly an asset to the hospital. The accommodations were less than desired. I was placed in the hallway with 2 other patients . Certainly less than ideal and forget about privacy . My 2 “neighbors “ definitely heard what my ailments were because I certainly heard theirs. Definitely some room for improvement.

I have recently been diagnosed with cancerous nodules on my thyroid and I’m going in for surgery within a week or two as of this writing. I am having Dr. Otto do the surgery and I am thrilled with her. My husband and I met with her today and she was amazing! She explained everything to me in a way that was easily understandable. She has performed this surgery successfully for years! . I immediately felt like everything was going to be just fine! I feel extremely confident that all will go very well. My hisband and I live here in Tampa and I am very happy to be close to such great hospitals such as the Moffitt Cancer Center !

Whelp. Where do i begin. Horrible experience. I had stomach pains and it was hurting real bad. I thought maybe it could be my appendix or me passing my kidney stone…turns out that was not the case. So, got there around 9:30am Tuesday morning to leave 8pm Tuesday night. A whole entire day. Rather very annoying. It’s like going to the emergency is only good if your issue is severe (bleeding or got shot) and there were more than enough staff on duty. I can only imagine what this bill is going to look like when it comes. On top of that in total i was seen by 4 staff members for a total of 1Hr when I’ve been there since 9:30am to then leave @8. So this billing is going To be very interesting as.

Personnel was wonderful!! Facility not so much, there were so many of us at the waiting area it would be easy to get sick of other things. I arrived passing a kidney stone!! PAINFUL and was told the wait was 4 to 20 hours! Unacceptable for patients. The bathroom had no toilet paper or paper towels . With that many people that should not be the case!! Unacceptable. The triage nurses 5star nurses! They were truly empathetic and supportive!!! If a person comes to ER they need help. I left without treatment it was too long of a wait and I was no longer in pain. I still don’t know what I had!

Edit: pretty sure my last review and others have been DELETED. Take note of that when looking at their overall score. I am so beyond frustrated with this ER. From this Friday to last, I have been there 3 separate times. My issues lie with my last two visits. On my 2nd visit, I came in with severe abdominal cramping and was puking violently from 3 am- 5 or 6. I was discharged around 7. They got me stable. Informed me after tests that I had an enlarged liver. AND THATS IT. They did NOT recommend a specialist and told me to follow up with a family doctor I told them I wouldn't be able to get into until the 6th of dec. Fast forward today and I go back because im still not okay. I have no appetite and extreme fatigue, it's a week now of barely eating or wanting to eat and I can't even move around my apartment without feeling lethargic. The doctor comes in and Informs me there's no reason to be in the er if I'm not in a critical condition and then BERATES me asking why I didn't follow up with a GI I was NEVER given or told of. I checked my papers from last visit and all it says is follow up with a family doctor. I was made to feel humiliated for coming back and not doing what I was suppose to for when they never informed me what was needed of me. It's the weekend now and specialists are closed until Monday. I'm not able to work until this is resolved for how limiting this ailment has caused me to be. It's beyond frustrating with how I was treated this visit. Making me out to be negligent when yall are the ones who failed to inform me properly to begin with. My nurse was great, no complaints there. Maybe the doctor saw a referral on file but my previous nurse failed to inform me of it and regardless, the fail of information should not have reflected on me.

Checked in at 2:05p and left around 7:45pm. It was just a lot of wait time. Other than that the staff was so kind and very professional. I recommend this place- maybe if they can tell you the wait time at check in I would give it 5 stars, so you can mentally prepare for a long wait.

  • 3/5 Linda G. 1 year ago on Google
They put me on a chair after taking my vital signs and EKG I did wait quite a while, To be seen. I did notice the staff was very friendly and courteous. But the wait was long To see a physician. Although my husband is not impressed with that hospital at all he does not like me to go there. He would rather I go somewhere else he thinks the service is not the greatest and the physicians are not so knowledgeable. Unfortunately I got to say it's a hit or miss. Good luck everyone. It is a beautiful looking hospital though I give it that and it's close for me. I'll take my chances.

The place should not get any stars as it is the worst hospital ever. Came here because of my constant stomach pain. Was checked in and asked to wait in the lobby. However there was no room in the lobby and was asked to sit in the overflow out in the main hospital area. I was then taken back for blood work about 2 hours later. Then I was told a room would be ready for me shortly. 2 more hours had gone by while I am still in intense pain. No one was checking in or notifying us how much longer it would be. I was very tempted to have my parents bring me back home because I was not receiving the care I deserved. To arrive at a hospital and wait over 5 hours before seeing a doctor while in constant pain is absolute insanity. I would have rather drove to Tampa General to get the proper care a human being deserves. Never again will I bring myself or my loved ones to be treated here as the Advent Health promise is non existent.
