Warning, allow a full day for your visit! We visited especially to see the Spitfire display and were not disappointed, however each and every hanger and display holds marvels of air travel whether it be commercial airlines, first world war aircraft, spitfires or more modern machinery of warfare. It's an absorbing place with stacks of history which make it the ideal setting for an aircraft museum. Sometimes the information provided is a little scant but use Google to supplement the knowledge provided, a great way to spend a day, if you're lucky you might catch some vintage machinery airborne. Well worth the entry fee.

We visited yesterday and had the most incredible day out. I had not been since I was a child, and now I was taking my son to experience the museums. The selection of planes in the various hangers is mind-blowing. The exhibitions are very well thought out, and it all flows impeccably. We recommend going to the very last exhibition first, then working back to the start. We walked for about 5 hours, but there are options for shuttle buses to areas for those who might need this. We spent the entire day there and feel like we barely scratched the surface. It's definitely worth a few visits to allow yourself to soak everything in. The obvious stars of the show are the Blackbird, B-52, Tornado, Harrier, Lancaster, Spitfire...there's a huge list. I was impressed with many of the obscure and lesser known planes and vehicles such as the one man German sub. A very well thought out and maintained museum that must be one of the best in the world for this subject matter.

The best day out I've had in years. Spent the day open mouthed at the number of aircraft on display, the flying and being flown in a vintage aircraft. Everyone was cheery and helpful. Food was great and great value. I cant recommend this place enough for all plane geeks.

This is a really awesome place with it's exhibitions and massive collection of primarily military aircraft. There's so much to see here, you can't do justice to it in one day. I would like to see the ticket valid for a year with return visit allowed, as they do with the Portsmouth Dockyard Museum. My favourite areas for aircraft were the massive Hangar 1 ( Airspace) which includes a Concorde and Vulcan aircraft, and Hanger 7 (American Air Museum). The latter is a great addition to the Duxford site with its modern design blending into the surrounds. Amongst many other aircraft it houses a complete B52 Stratofortress and my favourite military aircraft of all time, the "Plus Mach 3" SR-71 Lockheed Blackbird; never was there a more sinister looking aircraft. I saw this take off once in the 1980s and thought my insides were going to dissolve. Many other great things to see here, several Hangars are being used for maintenance/restoration of aircraft. In particular checkout Hangar 5 where a nuclear bomber the "Victor" is currently being restored. The Battle of Britain Hanger and Ops block are also worth a visit. Easy to miss the Ops block as its behind the main stretch of Hangers but it simulates the operations room and has a film on the Battle of Britain Additionally there is a large Hangar, No 8, at the far end of the Duxford site which houses a large collection of Tanks and Artillery. A small cinema presents a film of the D-day landings and subsequent advance into Germany. Duxford is also an operational Airfield, and if budget and inclination allow, you can get fun flights in several aircraft including a Tiger Moth. Brilliant day out, but could do with a second day here.

Brilliant museum with an unbelievable collection of aircraft. Huge site but they have shuttle buses travelling between the hangers. They need more hanger space! So many planes, many of them huge. The Sr71 Blackbird needs a hanger of its own. It can't be properly appreciated in this shared space. Other important aircraft, like the f111,Sea Vixen and Buccaneer fair even worse. I do not blame the museum for this. It all comes down to money and you will not see a better collection anywhere else in the UK, if not the world. Some of the other hangers are less "rammed in", it really only applies to the two showpiece hangers. Still five stars. Me and my son had the best day ever.

Fantastic day out. First time using our membership. No queues. Took picnic and there were plenty of benches near children's play area. Cafe gave good service for hot drinks. Area very clean and well kept. Wonderful exhibitions. Highly recommended. Loved watching some planes landing and taking off.

This is the best museum ever to my humble opinion in combination with my interests, which are not a plane or a history nutter ones, but still liking the subject. If you care at least a little bit about your children, do them and yourself a big favour and buy those tickets asap. I would recommend a bit of a research in advance to know what is there, why and what is interesting about it. There are wonderful signs and everything, but still. My Number One ever, the reason I've visited there first time for and will always keep me going back, is SR-71. This is the best aeronautical achievement of humankind of all times (again - my humble opinion). I try to go at least once a year (no kids), but will one day I will buy that membership and even the birds there will roll their eyes when they see me for 437 375 294 636th time 😂 Distance is the only reason I cannot afford to volunteer, otherwise I would put my TV in the bin and probably spend more time volunteering than at my actual workplace. Are you still reading? Come on then, see you there!

Duxford is such a well run, curated and interesting museum. They've done an impressive job of bringing the exhibits together so that they tie in nicely. All the staff and volunteers are exceptionally friendly, professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I can't recommend the annual membership highly enough so you can return and learn more each time.

Visted the Duxford museum when I was on a work trip, if your thinking about visiting this place please do so as it is by far the most impressive collection of aviation history I have ever experienced. The attention to detail of all the exhibits and the sheer volume of things to see is breathtaking, highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed!

Very impressive museum. I thought £27.50 per adult was expensive until I spent the day there...excellent facilities, toilets dotted around everywhere along with refreshments, restaurants, cafes. I'm a big cake fan and it was good, breakfast baps also very good, sausages excellent. The layout is vast so be prepared for a good 4 hours at least, lots of photo opportunities, lots of walking and chances to see personal spitfire rides taking place....brilliant...no sound like a spitfire! We'd highly recommend this museum.

First of all, I would just like to start this review by saying wow. If you are planning a visit, please allocate at least a whole day here. There is so much to do and see you can easily make a day or two of it. I visited with a friend, and the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the very friendly staff who were happy to help us with any questions or queries. There truly is a bit of everything here, from WW2 era fighters like the spitfire and hurricane to current models like the typhoon. Maybe that's not your thing? No problem! There's a vast range of civilian aircraft, too, many of which are open to go inside. These range from a prototype Concorde to a full VC10. This is without mentioning the amazing American section where you can truly appreciate the size of a B52, get up close with an SR71, and many other aircraft! Maybe the aircraft in general is not your interest? Again, you are covered as there is a massive collection of land vehicles in their own dedicated building. Highly recommended for everyone to do.

We were impressed with the scale and the amount of equipment on display (tanks, armored vehicles, jet fighters, planes etc). If you have even the slightest interest in any of it than it's recommend to pay Duxford a visit. On Google it shows the different parts of the museum as different locations and that confused us a little: in reality all of the hangars are part of IWM Duxford so you pay one entrance fee to get access to all. It can get busy so it's best to book tickets in advance. Give yourself a couple of hours so you can see everything at a reasonable pace. We loved seeing the staff revising an engine. We were surprised to see more modern US airplanes on display as well: F15, A10, Blackbird, Skyhawk etc. We had a really good time.

My partner and I became members last year. Great value for money as you get access to lots of other museums such as the Churchill War Rooms, Imperial War Museum London etc. Always very friendly staff and pleasant experience. You can tell the other visitors appreciate history and engineering. The cafe caters for gluten free with jacket potatoes and chips. Could do with some gluten free cakes perhaps. The toilets are very clean. There is simply too much to see in one day hence we have been 3 times in the last 12 months. My sister has now also joined and thoroughly loved it. They provide a taxi for elderly guests as there is a fair bit of walking between hangers. The best hanger is where the engineers are actively working on planes. People often miss this one. If you visit during the week they will be there. During the summer there are constant flights, you can book a short pleasure flight. I plan to do this next time in the warmer months. The shop as well has something to cater for every budget. It seems as though the item profits also go back to the charity as they are all Imperial War Museum branded. I like to see this.

Probably the best war museum in the UK! Have visited many times throughout my life, with friends and family, for displays events and just days out and it never disappoints. So a wide range of vehicles and aircraft for every enthusiast to enjoy. Stepped in history and So much to see and do, definitely worth the visit. I highly recommend the classic wings fights as it was an amazing experience to go up in a 1930s aircraft and see the stunning aerial views of the region. Will definitely be back in the future!

In The Cockpit ~ Spitfire N3200 Experience. For Christmas I gifted my son this wonderful opportunity to be able to sit in the cockpit of a beautiful, historic Spitfire. Mick, the expert IWM guide, kindly let me sit in whilst he gave us a thoroughly informative talk about the Spitfire’s history. Then my son was able to sit in the cockpit whilst Mick explained the controls and what the conditions would have been like. The whole experience was incredible, I cannot recommend it enough. Plus the proceeds go towards the N3200 and keeping her airworthy. A very memorable day!

An amazing place, even for an amateur like me. Very informative information board plus suitable arrangements lead me into both the sky and the history. If I am a child, maybe I will determine to devote myself to the aviation industry. The most impressive one is the supersonic aircraft, not only the appearance and performance, but also the reason why it is not in service anymore. Further, mind the time, it will take longer than you expected.

We loved every minute of our visit. There is so much to see that we didn't get to go to all the hangars. We will definitely be going back again. The staff are amazing and the tour we did of the Lancaster was so informative and interesting. Wonderful day out if you live History and aviation.

If you love planes, tanks or history this is an amazing day out, great displays with good write ups that interest all ages. The workshop hangers are incredible to watch a spitfire or hurricane being restored or given inspections. The workshops also smell amazing. It's a lot of walking and lots to see, we got distracted by everything and went for lunch late, by which time the food choices were limited. Go, enjoy, read and by the end of the day you will be able to recognize which is a hurricane or spitfire, P51 or thunderbolt

This place is absolutely amazing. A must for anyone you just can't believe how these planes look in real life. Advice your looking at at least 4hrs to get round it all. The volunteer staff honestly are what make this place what it is they are a credit to the place, also try the chilly dog from the cafe near the entrance. Overall very happy and worth the money awsum experience

Great experience. Huge amount of aircraft on display from the old to the new not just military either. Allow plenty of time for your visit you can easily spend 6 hours at this museum as the grounds are huge. And it involves lots and lots of walking around. Something to thinking about for the older generation or anybody with a disability, although there is a bus that takes visitors from one end to the other. I only saw this once though. There are aircraft taking off and landing all the time which is great to see as well as a restraunt, cafe and food trucks to fill the time.

(Translated by Google) Mixed feelings. On the one hand, the quantity, scrap iron 'is impressive. Exactly interesting exhibitions, descriptions. A lot of civilian aircraft, but most of them are all kinds of war machines. Many iconic planes or surface weapons. It makes an impression both from the top and especially from the bottom when you see how a man means little (eg at B-52). On the other hand, sad and shocking as we waste not only material resources on killing machines. Unfortunately, he subtracts 1 star for two incomplete exhibitions and entry (3.05) only to one of several planes outside 😢. In any case, it's worth seeing technological progress or the enormity of armaments and the horrors of war. (Original) Mieszane uczucia.

Really interesting place, even for someone who has zero knowledge (or particular interest) of aircraft. Staff were particularly warm and friendly - obviously care about and love their jobs. Areas were clean and tidy, with social distancing/sanitisers followed. A friend went on a flight alongside a spitfire and had a wonderful time. I especially loved that he got off the flight and was promptly handed his printed photo with the spitfire. Lovely day out!

Top air museum. Great exhibits, well laid out and good information all over. I liked how certain sections really impart a sense of time and place. Plus it has a Blackbird, extra star for that. Spitfire and Hurricane were flying around all day along with a few others I can't name. Food was okay too, with a nice chunky sausage roll in there dressed with fennel seeds, that was nice.

Great day out, lots to see for anyone who likes aviation, there were also plenty of planes flying. Also great for kids with lots of educational things to do. Wear a comfy pair of shoes as there's plenty of walking to do, only downside for me was refreshments only one cafe open on site to get drinks etc and only one girl rushed off her feet serving and making drinks.

Went for their special American Flying day. So much to see! The parking was full for Blue Badge Holders but a delightful lady squeezed us in. If you are with someone with mobility issues consider a wheelchair/scooter as there can be a lot of walking. Do have your tickets and not your booking number available. I thought they could find us from the booking number. No dogs allowed. We have a dog and although at first I didn't really find this very friendly I fully agree with it now having been. It might be worth considering leaving before the rush as at least where we were parked there are traffic lights to get out and I can imagine if everyone left at once it could be a challenge! There are eating facilities too as well as coffee and...beer 🥳 (any maybe more, but I didn't check). Plenty of room, although minimal shade. Bring a picnic and chairs if the weather looks good. Great day out!

Do recommend taking a picnic as not much space to sit in cafes but plenty of outdoor space. Would come back again

Visited the Spitfire exhibition. 12 Spitfires from the MK1 to the MK22, in one hanger. An amazing sight, accompanied by knowledgeable volunteers who gave enthralling talks on each of the Spitfires. I'm so glad I visited before the exhibition ended. The whole museum is fascinating and I could go on further about what can be seen and experienced there. The weather was atrocious the day we visited but it didn't dull our enjoyment. I would certainly recommend to anyone of any age. Allow a day, there's so much to see.

It's fascinating and big! It's a full day out if you take your time and put on comfortable shoes. We were told it takes 4 hours at a comfortable pace excluding breaks and talks, any less and you will miss something out. Lots of information to take in as well as the talks, there was for the Lancaster bomber at the time of my visit, plus the spitfire exhibition, which included all 12 functioning aircraft. There's a little shuttle bus that runs between the hangers, but still take a coat if the weather is not great. I definitely recommend it. It is a little pricey but theres is a lot to see. My only little gripe is the standard donation, and by no means do I have an issue with any specific charity or donating, but I do think it should feel optional. So if you have any interest at all, go, you won't be disappointed.

Superb museum with a spectacular exhibition that is actually much bigger than I expected. To spend a whole day here is not a challenge since discovering the countless various models and types of aircraft can be time consuming, especially with kids. The whole place is accessible and very-well designed/maintained with the visitors in the mind. Large car park, numerous toilets including accessible toilets and baby changes; coffee van, food, snacks, restaurant, large gift shop and a fun playground (thematic) for kids combined with tables and benches (lunch/picnic area). I can definitely recommend the IWM Duxford to aeronautics enthusiasts, hobby or professional photographers, families, group of people (friends), or even for single visitors. It's worthwhile to take the annual membership and return a couple of time throughout a year in advance to really experience everything this place can offer.

Battle of Britain Day. What an amazing place Duxford is. It's a brilliant day out on any day of the week but today took this to another level. We arrived early to take in the hangars and stands. The American Hangar is my favourite. The flying started at 1pm and there was a tremendous array of WW2 aircraft to enjoy. The Red Arrows put on a great show towards the end but the icing on the cake was the Lancaster and Sally B flying together for the first time in decades. The cherry on top was the 16 Spitfires and Hurricanes that made up the big wing who performed two passes. Having flown in a Spitfire, the next item on the aviation bucket list was to go inside a B17. As luck would have it and for 20 very happily spent pounds I was given a very thorough tour inside and out by a super enthusiastic crew member. It was quite a humbling experience to actually stand in the place that countless brave airmen risked their lives whilst under fire. A similar feeling to when I flew in the Spitfire, the B17 is a truly wonderful aircraft. The only slight gripe was being forced to turn left out of the carpark added a rather large detour to our journey, not that it mattered. An awesome day and I will be back again... and again... and probably again!

This place is amazing! You have to go, and what you get from the experience is fantastic. Lots of old planes from European to American. Go and sit in the Lancaster or see the insides of an early Concorde. Totally worth the admission price.

This is a fantastic place and the staff are lovely. I loved my visit. But... the website does state suitable for children of all ages and this is simply not true. If you are lucky enough to have a 5 year old that is happy to walk around for hours looking at planes then Duxford IWM is for you, unfortunately my little man got pretty bored after the second hanger and it was a lot of walking for his little legs. If I went on my own then I would have given the museum 5 stars but a kids day out? Maybe for some families, but certainly not all.

Thoroughly good day out even though a few things were closed due to Covid 19 and refurbishment. Very helpful and friendly staff and the engineers were very generous to answer questions about the restoration projects. The displays are really well set out especially the ground forces section. Will have to visit again in the future and hopefully see the Avro Shackleton on display from restoration. Mini bus service was restricted to family groups because of Covid but it gave the very helpful driver a chance to speak about various sights as we rode along. Overall a top day out and kids will love the variety of aircraft and land vehicles on display. They will be blown away by the USAF display, DO NOT PASS THIS BY!!! You can touch the SR71 Blackbird!

Great day out. We used tesco vouchers and so our tickets were free, having said that, I think it's worth the admission price as it is a full day out. In fact, we didn't even get around it all and were there for about 5 hours. Car parking is free which is nice. There are a couple of cafe's here but we brought a packed lunch and ate on the grass watching the planes take off / land. There are a few planes you can actually enter and look around and they all had very informative volunteers on to answer any questions or just to tell you about the history. A very fun family day out.

Absolutely amazing display of aircraft, really need more than a day to do it justice. Nice to see the Lancaster there, my father flew in them in WW2(Bomber command). So proud of him.

Great place but need new open-minded management and board.

Attended a business conference here which included admission to see the aircraft. Have previously visited but the number and quality of aircraft is outstanding. Was lucky enough to see the NHS Spitfire on the ground and the 2 seater Spitfire take off and flying!

Easily fill and entire day and then some! Kids loved it and seeing a Spitfire flight a real treat.

A vast collection of aeroplanes and military vehicles magnificently displayed. Be prepared for quite a bit of walking between the hangars and wear warm clothing if the sun's not shining. It can be very cold and windy, being an ex-RAF airfield.

Superb aviation based museum with the added tank and IFV building that makes it a great day out. A number of the historic aircraft are airworthy so you could see a number fly on any day......

Definitely go again. Nice day out with kids

Did enjoy the museum displays. However with it being a rainy day there we no planes flyimg and with corona most displays with walk through are closed.

Duxford is an amazing place to visit. The aircraft displays and the land warfare display are well worth visiting more than once.

  • 5/5 Mark J. 3 years ago on Google
Absolutely love this place. Full of history and interesting exhibits that keep adults and kids alike entertained all day. Plus with wide open spaces there is plenty of room for the kids to use up all their energy. With flights of old aircraft going up most days its definitely a great day out 😊❤

Great day out, there's a lot to see so definitely needs a full day. Mostly indoors but spread out over different buildings. We walked between them all but there are shuttle buses available if you prefer. Kids loved the interactive section in the first hanger, a brilliant educational resource. The family activities on offer were well received too.

Amazing place superb displays and content. Loved the specific talks on subjects. Lancaster bomber and Battle of Britain. Very informative. Small extra cost but well worth it.

There is so much awesomeness packed into every hangar that you can totally miss things if you don't walk around twice. Brilliant day out, immaculate hangars and aircraft. The place is dripping with spitfires.

The planes are so interesting but I wish we could have entered them

A RAF airfield in both world wars that became a museum. It has the biggest collection of airplanes (military, commercial) in Europe. It is home of the American (air force) Museum. There is a Land Warfare collection Exhibition. Normally there are Airshows held here during the year. The museum was used as a location for the film Monuments Men staring Hugh Bonneville, Matt Damon and George Clooney.

GET THERE EARLY AND SPEND THE DAY...🛩🛬. Duxford is an amazing place to visit for all ages who love aircraft space ad science. Take your time around all hangars and enjoy the close up experience of the aircraft. We were very lucky to have Spitfires taking off every 20 minutes or so for special flight events. Booked 3 seats on a Dragon Rapide (pics included) 12 and 15 years first flight and they were blown away.

  • 5/5 Oliver L. 2 years ago on Google
Brilliant museum, great relaxing atmosphere. Plenty of planes and hangers to look around. Loved the aviation history timeline with key aviation events throughout history. Highly recommend for a great day out.

Great place for aeroplane and turbomachinery enthusiasts. There are hangars dedicated to air and sea, and ground warfare. You can book conference rooms and request for catering services during visits. The facility's sovereign shop has some great souvenirs too!

I hadn't been for around 20 years, so had never seen the American hanger before. The amount of aircraft they have amis amazing. B52 and a blackbird in a hanger! There was also spitfires and mustang's flying around which was great to see while we had a picnic in the green. I definitely recommend this to anyone that loves military aircraft

  • 5/5 Jay D. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely place filled with many different aircraft and military vehicles. Can be busy on event days but has a lot of space, visit on a rainy day though and it's quiet but still accessible. Nice cafe in the American hanger.

Great day out for the aviation enthusiasts, well worth the visit. Plenty of staff around to give you info on any exhibit. Lots of amenities on site too

  • 5/5 vance w. 2 years ago on Google
Took me many hours to see all the stuff here. Loved it. The best I've seen so far in england or Europe for that matter. Such a large amount of stuff. The need to add more hangers so.its not totally cramped inside 8 hangers is not enough

Fabulous weekend for the September Battle of Britain Airshow. Great atmosphere as usual, even if slightly stunted due to less than usual number of stall holders and outlets. Well run and very popular, if WW2 history is your thing, then this a is must.

This is one of the coolest places we have visited as a family day out. There are so many iconic planes and vehicles that you can literally reach out and touch! There are numerous hangers full of different period planes and vehicles, each with its own story and information. This is definitely a place you need to spend most of the day at due to the size and sheer volume of information and displays. In addition to the planes / vehicles in the hangers, there is an active airfield and runway, and if you are lucky you may get to see a few of the old girls take off and land! On warm days the hangers and indoor spaces get warm so plan accordingly, no AC in those areas, although we did find that it was very windy so that helped keep it cool when outdoors. Pricing is good value for what you get and there are plenty of places to sit and just relax to enjoy the atmosphere. We loved the gift shop and picked up lots of cool little things to take back home with us. Definitely a place we would recommend.

One of the best museums I have been too. Its a long wall between all the hangars, especially to the tanks at the very end but its totally worth it. I love how they have given thought to the presentation, given the historical timeline in order as well as walking through recreated trenches and rubble. Very well preserved airfield with all the buildings, used from the first world war to the cold war. Do the airspace hangar first to tour inside some of the planes as they close before the main museum.

Brilliant experience, attended for the air show. Parking was good, coordinated well with plenty of staff and parking for those who bought parking permits for the show. Plenty of vendors selling food, drinks, ice creams as well as memorabilia. Excluding the air show, the museum is a great family day out with a great variety of planes. There are cafes, a good quantity of toilet facilities and a play park for young children.

Absolutely stunning experience. You can see all types of war vehicles, from aircraft (my favourite was the SR-71, beautiful one), through mortars and artillery to tanks from WW1, WW2 and modern ones. Also, boarding Concorde and seeing it in real life was amazing. When you are walking from one building to another, you will have an opportunity to see beautiful airplanes perform breathtaking acrobatic stunts. Although the t-shirt I picked in the souvenir shop was already sold out, they have a nice collection of items that are worth buying. 10/10, not visiting it would be a massive mistake.

Duxford is a truly wonderful place to visit with a huge range of aircraft that are both static and flying, and a fantastic land museum with a range of tanks and vehicles from multiple eras. There is so much to learn and you can spend a long day here so I'd highly recommend getting there early, say to start the day 10am to 10.30am, as this gives lots of time to look around in a relaxed and leisurely way. There's often planes flying around too so you can often see a mini air show on days that are not official airshows. Really amazing and very special place that played a crucial role during the Second World War. Highly recommended and a great place for kids and families to visit.

We are absolutely blown away by how fantastic the museum is. There is so much to see. We will definitely be having another visit. The facilities are excellent with plenty of picnic seating and the cafe has lovely food. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I can't praise them enough. Well done to IWM Duxford.

  • 5/5 Michael B. 8 months ago on Google
Lots of very interesting airplanes. You can visit a few inside. When we were there was constant flying action from hurricanes, training jets and other planes. There was a nice bar with some food and limited veggie options. Very good merchandising shop. Next to motorway exit. All in all, at least as good as Hendon. The bad news: it's not cheap.

  • 5/5 J E. 8 months ago on Google
Excellent day out - lots of walking involved to see everything (we did 7.7 km) but there is a bus for those with mobility issues. Well worth a visit. Really enjoyed our day.

  • 5/5 Martin D. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing exhibits! I like how they have fitted all the aircraft in, especially the ones suspended from the ceiling - it gives a sense of drama. I have been there a few times, but there is always something else to see. As Duxford Airfield is very exposed, I recommend bringing a windproof coat, as the wind can be very strong and it can feel chilly even on a warm day. Also, if it is a hot day there is very little shade, so bring a hat and don't forget the sun cream...

It doesn't matter how many times you come here it still an interesting place. The plane collection is always worth a visit. You can fly on various planes if that takes your fancy for that special occasion. The American hangar is well worth a visit. The B52 Bomber is massive taking up half of the hanger. The Black Bird spy plane is also here.

  • 5/5 David S. 7 months ago on Google
Recommended location. Allow at least 3 hours, but one could spend all day here. A great selection of aircraft and exhibits. Recommend you buy tickets beforehand and get there early but also enquire as to whether there is a flying schedule for the day — a ride in a Spitfire might be something you’d like.

A really brilliant museum experience. Fantastically conserved equipment amd aircraft, incredibly helpful staff and volunteers and lots to do to fill the day. There are cafes and toilets available across the site and some opportunities to see historic aircraft flying.

Came here for the August evening air show with my friend. Absolutely incredible place. If you are interested is military history, particularly aircraft, Duxford is a must see. The airshow itself was something else! A personal highlight was the P40 Warhawk.

Went with my 5 year old and 10 year old. Enough to keep them both interested. Well thought out museum. Fascinating aircraft and individual exhibits. The kids loved the interactive science of flight area so a shame a few of these exhibits were broken. Superb knowledgeable staff who were happy to help. Electric shuttle bus a really good addition to help with transport between hangars for tired young and old legs! Most exhibits have access for the disabled if required. Loved the fact the museum is next to the live Duxford runway so the kids could see spitfires and others taking off every half hour or so. Lots of areas to sit to eat lunch - we took packed lunch to save on costs. Took us about 6 hours of a leisurely stroll around the museum to feel we had seen enough (and the kids first mention of "can we go home now"). Great day out and will return.

Well if you like planes then this is the place to be. With lots of information and a few other things like tanks and artillery. Lots of people to ask and they are very helpful. We took a minibus to the other end and walked back we were told it's about a mile long to the other end. My only gripe is the booking online. I accidentally booked the wrong day I didn't check dates properly so that is my fault, but YOU CAN'T GET REFUND OR TRANSFER TO ANOTHER DAY. So it cost me £188 for 4 instead of £94. I could have brought a ticket on the day. So this is the only reason for 4 star review instead of 5. The person on the desk said they use a booking company. Another thing is we did get to see planes flying like the Spitfire's which is a lovely bonus. There is an opportunity to book a flight in them

I would have given IWM Duxford 5 stars, if it hadn’t been for the overly priced drinks (2.80 for a bottle of water!) and not up to par toilet facilities. Was also a little disappointed when I got home to find the magnet I had put on the counter, wasn’t the one I had in my bag. Apart from these niggles, absolutely amazing day. Could have spent all day there but we had got tickets for 12pm access. Took the two eldest nieces with dad and partner and we all loved it. The cherry on top of the cake was seeing Spitfires taking off and doing tandem take offs! So much fun had. Will definitely go back.

What a fabulous place, we had our Christmas party here. It was awesome . Friendly knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere, good food but most importantly amazing planes. What's not to love?! Also if you are a visitor in the day time the sunset is stunning

I took my 13 year old son whilst my 5 year old daughter went to the pantomime with my wife. A wise decision made. She'd have lost interest after visiting the first hangar and would have been heading for the incredibly well stocked shop and then have wanted to go home! Thanks to the panto we had time to look at everything Duxford had to offer and it's got a lot. It's by far the best display of aircraft we have ever seen. So well preserved and presented with volunteer staff that are more than happy to indulge you with their knowledge. I can't recommend a day out to Duxford enough. It's an amazing place to visit but be warned if you're planning on taking a child under 8 years old, they will get bored and you'll never get to see all that Duxford has to offer. Thank you Duxford and thanks to all the volunteers and staff that truly do complete the experience.

I love this place. We went as a family to the flying legends airshow and it was absolutely fantastic. The sights, sounds and smells are amazing. A true aviation enthusiasts dream. There is so much to do, the main hanger, the American museum and the land warfare museum will fill a day easily. The only one thing I would say is if on flying days there was more for the younger girls, happy children would be made. My daughter loves planes but she wants pink and fluffy things lol. And I am sure that goes for many 6 year old girls.

So many planes and so little time! A great day out with so much to see that you do really need most of the day to get round everything. A lot of walking but it's mostly flat. They also run a regular mini bus service between hangers.
