Very beautiful building in Brighton. The inside is very amazing definitely go in if you have the time. There is so much to look at in a lot of rooms. The decorations are really insane in a good way. You can download the app and use that as a audio guide recommend using a headset makes it easier to listen

One of the most unique and gorgeous palaces I’ve visited. I’ve been to dozens of palaces around the globe, but I was still pleasantly surprised by the interior and exterior design of the building. The artistic style choice of combining Chinese and Indian concepts was equally refreshing and astonishing. Loved the fusion of different cultures as well as the rich history behind it. The free audio guide certainly helped me understand more about the place and Brighton as a city. Loved every aspect of the Royal Pavilion and I cannot recommended it enough to do it justice. I normally don’t comment or post reviews on Google maps, but the experience has impressed me so much that I urge you pay the site a visit whenever you’re in Brighton. Cheers!

The heady mix of emotions stirred by a visit to one place is a bit of a shock. I am still digesting how a line of possibly mad family members had access to spend beyond their means, enjoy pleasures beyond their means and yet enjoy support of the masses. Such a knowledgeable and informative team work here it is easy to touch the past. Skills I stand in awe to admire took three hours observing. Listening to commentary on my device, taking in answers to questions and musing at the many levels of conflicting energies that eventually gave us a wonderful insight into frivolous times not that long ago. Truly a moving experience up there with the best movie. Is it Schindler's list or dare I suggest others that raise a similar number of questions of our fellow man? Fantastic place. Made even better by the staff.

The Royal Pavilion, once a regal abode in Brighton, has metamorphosed into a captivating museum. Its architectural silhouette, redolent of India, distinctly distinguishes itself amid the urban landscape of Brighton. Crafted in the Indo-Saracenic style, this palace-inspired edifice stands as a paramount example of its kind in Europe, a rarity in the architectural tapestry of the continent. Listed as a Grade II heritage site, the Pavilion is a testament to exquisite design. An enchanting and exotic masterpiece, the Pavilion shelters sumptuous interiors that exude opulence, leaving an indelible impression of artistry and grandeur.

The most beautiful place to get married. Sarah was the most wonderful person to work with, alongside Trish. They went above and beyond to make everything simple and easy for us during wedding planning and also on the day. Everyone still can't believe we got married in the Pavilion! Such a special experience, I could not recommend it enough!

The Royal Pavilion is an exotic palace in the centre of Brighton with a colourful history. Built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV, this historic house mixes Regency grandeur with the visual style of India and China. The palace looks beautiful from the outside. Inside, a lot of history is shown, but when visiting the palace, it is not possible to see everything through closed rooms.

Great to explore if you're into history or architecture. Walking tour was great n staff r on hand in most rooms. Worth to see how King George VI and after that Queen Victoria lived there. U can get an audio guide tour for more detailed information of each room. A unique experience, this Royal Palace is on it's own. U really have to visit to take it in.The settings in the rooms are very well done, the restoration of the Saloon is magnificent. The atmosphere with chandeliers just amazing. A must for visitors and Brighton and Hove residents.

I've been here several times, but my partner had never been, so went in July 2022. Its such a quirky unique building with fabulous architecture and amazing Eastern decoration. The palace has been refurbished and looks just amazing. The grand dining hall and chandeliers throughout are just blow you away. The staff are super friendly and happy to help with an historical questions or questions about George IV. Definitely recommend visiting, they even host weddings there too. Super cool! Go, if you get the chance.

The palace is so unashamedly opulent and almost kitsch in its Western interpretation of Asia, you gotta just LOVE it cos it is truly one of its kind! Every room has been painstakingly restored, as recent as 2018. And while it costs £18 to enter, it's valid for multiple visits within 1 year. Make sure you bring your own earphones and download the audio guide for only £1, otherwise you can rent the audio set for £3.

Truly spectacular. A remarkable Regency era palace commissioned by George IV, set amongst attractive gardens. The exterior of the building, inspired by Indian architecture, sets it apart from any other royal palace in the UK. Inside, spectacular decoration adorns every room, from the kitchen and dining hall to the magnificent music room. There are numerous ornaments, artworks and fine furnishings throughout. Information panels point out significant features as you walk around, and an exhibition charts the building's history, from its construction and development to later use as a WW1 military hospital. There's a café on site, and a gift shop and accessible toilet in the building. Tickets were £18 for adults when I visited, not cheap but valid for one year from the date of purchase, and there's so much to see that the Royal Pavilion would easily warrant return visits. Discounts available for local residents, students and English Heritage members, so it's worth checking if you're eligible when booking.

Absolutely stunning! Very well kept, fantastic displays of antique and unique pieces. There are QR codes with vocal guide all over, so you can listen to as you walk about the house, as well as explanatory boards. Kept in immaculate conditions. Enjoyed it enormously and will go back. The ticket is valid for an entry also in another site not far from here. Cons: the gardens are in need of some tlc! There is so much potential but it’s mostly grass with some trees. Staff was friendly and professional.

A hidden gem... Great feature you can scan a code and get an audio tour for free... Very informative!! Beautiful and fabulous decor... The staff are very knowledgeable. Buy a full price ticket and visit all year for one price. If youre an English Heritage member you get a discount. 10 out of 10 for this attraction

My friend recommended that I visit the pavilion as I was in the area for the weekend. I was not disappointed, it was so worth the visit. The attendants were so informative and were obviously so proud of the building and it's history. What stood out for me, was the chandeliers - utterly magnificent. Once you buy the entrance ticket, you can go back for free throughout the year. The decor is very Chinese and Indian orientated - absolutely beautiful.

A Stunning , More than Historical ,A place for Reflection, Contemplation , a unique part of History that opens your mind up to digest life ,how progress is made, can be looked at for our future in this world. King George has left us all with a landmark. I really Will never emphasize if you take time to contemplate exactly what Life can extract from this ground's kept for reasons as Sir David Attenborough fights for,our planet, but , on top , the beneficial progress of harmony in our society of Acceptance.

A very beautiful palace, I have been several times to brighten, but never knew about this palace until one day I came across it. Very beautiful from outside, definitely a place to visit to take nice pictures. The park around it is also very neat and beautiful. Will most definitely visit this place again. Next time will get a ticket to go inside. Would be nice to see the place from inside too, am sure it’s beautiful.

They have a mobile guide that explains every station so I learnt a lot. Very odd to think that I was walking in and out of rooms that were once accessible by royals only. In awe of how well decorated it is- well worth a visit!

The Royal Pavilion is beautiful both outside and inside. Every room you go through has vibrant colours, all kinds of beautiful decorations and lots of history behind. There is a QR code you can scan so you can have an online guide on your phone while you walk through the Pavilion. Very good idea and helpful. The staff are also there ready to answer any questions and are very helpful! Amazing experience

Beautiful building day and night! Im not sure about what it looks like inside but the outside is definitely worth looking at. The surrounding garden is well kept and would be a lovely place to have a picnic. It is also a great place to take pictures with loved ones! Not too far from the beach so if you get bored it’s worth a visit.

This is a superb venue!! I wasn't sure what to expect and visited with my daughter on a whim, but it was amazing! Beautiful decor and incredible features... Its worth using an audio guide which will give you an insight into the life of a King. The tickets may appear pricey (£18.00), however, you can visit as many times as you like for 1 year! There's so much detail, you won't be disappointed.... It's fascinating!

I definitely recommend to anyone interested in history. It's a beautifully reconstructed place that will show you how the world used to look, how the nobility lived. There are plenty of magnificent paintings, a perfect interior, and a beautiful atmosphere, for example, in the music hall.

Amazing place to visit! Unusual architecture and furniture! If you have a toddler or baby, plan your visit during NAP time. It’s quiet place and most of rooms are available with stroller. So your little one will not be bored and you will spend a great time here, learning some history 😉

I wish we had more time here!! This is a beautiful place! It looks like a palace! The detail of the exterior is phenomenal and exquisite. We didn't have time to go inside. I can imagine how lovely it is inside just looking at the exterior. People were hanging out on the lawn, so it's anice place to sit and soak up the beauty. I could have taken loads more photos, but time ran out. We will have to go back!

For a few days we came from London to this beautiful seaside town of Brighton. My daughter took us along the paths of her role model Zoe, who lives in this place. So we took a look at this beautiful mansion. The Royal Pavilion, also known as the former royal residence. It was built for Prince George of Wales. There is now a beautiful park where people are very relaxed and enjoy the beautiful views of the pavilion.

Amazed at the opulence and indulgence of the place. The banquette hall for private parties is indeed spectacular. Built as a luxurious retreat for King George IV, this extravagant building marries Eastern opulence with Regency grandeur. To get the self guided tour device to hear about King George IV's extravagant lifestyle, tales of lavish parties, exotic animals, and a king who loved the finer things in life. The ending though, was a tad sad. It's a must-see on trip to Brighton.

Absolutely stunning and unique. The history of it is interesting and the craftsmanship is so detailed. Each room has so much to look and was restored with so much care. The only unfortunate thing is if you visit in the winter there is a pop up ice skating rink that blocks the view of the exterior.

Really wasn't expecting such a great experience. The small entry space left me underwhelmed, then we entered the main building and WOW. Had an amazing time with lots to see, informative staff and info boards. Learning how to went from Royal palace to near dereliction then back to what it is now was fascinating.

Beautiful gardens, the flowers actually smell really nice here. It felt like an organic place 😁 most of the time flowers don’t really smell. Here it was amazing to admire. It adds an unique touch to these gardens the Royal pavilion. Didn’t get a chance to go inside, plenty stuff to see outside. And take photos of the building from outside.

A beautiful palace built for George IV that combines Regency and Indian architectural styles, with an oriental inspired interior. There was plenty to see, the palace itself was very impressive and beautifully looked after. There was also a coronation exhibition and informative video room explaining some of the history of the place. Signposting to the entrance could have been clearer as it's to the side and not immediately obvious. Definitely worth a visit!

Incredibly beautiful building, originally built for George IV with construction finishing in 1823. The only downsides to visiting this place is that the building seem to be deteriorating a tad, which means that it is not in "as good" a condition as many other heritage sites in the UK. This is only a minor issue though, as it is still very beautiful. Besides this, it costs ~18£ per person to enter the building, which does seem pretty steep when taking the size into consideration. Good news is that the beautiful outside can be seen, from the gardens surrounding it, for free.

We went ice skating. I'd recommend the 9pm Sunday slot as was much quieter. Good size rink. Small separate rink for children and aids available to hire. Beautiful setting, especially at night. Spectators free.

We expected spending an hour, maybe 1½ hours there, but ended up spending almost 3 hours. No, no, don't worry, you can spend less, but it is very much possible to spend there a lot of time without noticing. Beautiful place, so many interesting details... I would only suggest to their audio guides programmer to make sure when guide tells you to press something, there must be something there instead of "nothing in this section". ;)

  • 5/5 Tyler S. 3 years ago on Google
The gardens are lovely. The ice rink during winter in fun (though cramped when there are lots of people). Everyone says that you shouldn't bother to go inside. It's not worth the cost everyone says. Picnic on the grounds. That's a fun way to spend the afternoon!

  • 5/5 Georgie M. 3 years ago on Google
The Royal Pavilion is stunning. The inside is a real surprise and we spent a lovely couple of hours exploring it. The audio guide they've created to be played through your own phone was a good touch so try to bring some earphones.

  • 4/5 e h. 3 years ago on Google
Incredible decor and breathtaking rooms! The outdoor facade seems to suggest another story, which fortunately isn’t reflected on the indoor grandeur! The only setback was the app for the audio guide wasn’t very reliable today unfortunately.

  • 5/5 Stuart B. 3 years ago on Google
The outside of the Pavilion is very interesting & unique although it always appears to have scaffold around part of it...but the inside is spectacular!! Think they should take all the shrubs & flower beds out and put the area down to grass as it will be easier to keep and not look so tatty as it does now...however I would recommend anyone to go and see this amazing building

Really worth the £15 entry fee which is open for return visits for a year . George IV mock oriental fantasy palace . Makes you wonder how he got away with it. A bit like the nearby NCP car park who charged us £32 for four hours parking .How do they get away with it?

  • 5/5 Mark M. 3 years ago on Google
Wonderful attraction in the heart of the city. Set in really pleasant grounds with paths baskers and flowers. A popular destination for sunbathers and people just wanting to chill. The pavilion itself is an incredible sight with absolutely fascinating architecture. A must see location when in brighton.

  • 5/5 DT M. 3 years ago on Google
I love seeing palaces and states homes growing up in the UK but Royal Pavilion is definitely the most special of them all as it offer such an odd but wonderfull theme that I have never seen in an English palace before. The exterior of this place remind me of a royal palace in istanbul and the interior of this is almost wild for the time it was build. It is western yet oriental, a very radical design from the son of the mad king.

An absolutely amazing building with truly extraordinary interiors. It is definitely worth going out of your way to visit. In fact, I will be going again. The audio guide was well done and in these COVID times the reduced crowds were bliss, you got a decent look at the smaller rooms as you had them virtually to yourself. It is worth noting that a pair of earbuds or headphones for your mobile are handy as they are providing the audio guide only online on your phone at present.

This place is a real gem. Never before have I seen such ornate oriental design outside of Asia. The Chinese influence made for a more interesting and memorable visit than other royal residences or stately homes. Make sure you plan your parking before you arrive. The Royal Pavilion was on our list for quite a while and such a shame we didn't visit earlier. Although there's work going on refurbishing the out side you can still see how grand and spectacular it is. The inside was amazing collection of treasures and furniture in some of the most spectacular rooms I've ever seen. The staff were fantastic and helpful, they knew so much about the building, people and history. Well worth visiting and like nothing else I've seen before.

We were really impressed with the pavilion. Not only is the building itself absolutely beautiful, and the gardens well maintained but the inside has been renovated to a very high standard. It was a great visit and certainly worth the price!

A beautiful Indian inspired Palace with an oriental style inside in the middle of Brighton! Once you buy tickets, they are valid for a year. Nice to wander around and see how George IV then Queen Victoria lived. Friendly staff. Very elegant interior. Plenty of toilets throughout the Palace. Stairs up to the first floor. You will have any bags searched on entering.

Immaculately restored and presented well. A fair bit of the building you don't get to see but understandable. Ticket price very good value when considered it can be reused for entry for an entire year.

Definitely one of the best tourist destinations of Brighton. It may look a bit dated on the outside but don't be fooled. The inside is an amazing restauration project, going on for a century or so, of one of the most lavish of palaces. George the IV was one influential party person and chose to live the good life. No party or dinner to big. However also a sad man who was clearly trying to compensate for something. The result is one of the most spectacular palaces I have ever seen.

Beautiful piece of history, easily the most stunning British palace I've visited thus far. The tea room inside is no longer open. Your tickets will get you in on the day with re-entry for the next few MONTHS if you hang onto your ticket. There is an audio guide available if you scan QR code from room to room. There is a cafe in the gardens and a gift shop at the end of the tour / entry to the palace.

A fascinating building. Lavishly decorated That has quite a history. Lots of oriental decoration and incredible chandeliers. We spent at least an hour and a half hear. The gift shop was almost more ornate than the building. It was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed getting beyond the exterior!

Really enjoyed our tour here. The only thing I would say (and maybe I’m just cheap) is that 45 pounds seems like a lot for a family of 4! Half that much would seem much more reasonable. But the price besides it really sheds light on what it must have been like 200 years ago when it was in use. Really enjoyed imagining the banquets in the dining hall and prep in the kitchen. I would recommend visiting as long as your not on a tight budget!

This is undoubtedly the most interesting place in Brighton. There are no words to describe this place as the beauty you will find here. It is worth not only a visit, but as many you can plan. The ticket is valid for a year, so you should keep it. The are several rooms, it is completely restored and preserved, although as for today (September2022), there are some works outside. The garden is a great place to have rest a bit and enjoy if it is a sunny day. People are quite helpful and they will explain whatever you need in each apartment.

Very interesting place to visit, when you buy your ticket you can go back free of charge for a year. You can take photos but not allowed to put on social media. The gardens are beautiful and there is an outdoor cafe with seating.

Very different to the usual palace and castles that I've seen with the Indian architecture and Chinese interior decorating. Definitely book ahead and if you sign the back of your ticket it's valid for the year so you can visit anytime for a year. They've done a fabulous job repairing and reviving the place. Their audio guides are handy too as you can just use your own cellphone. Their one staff member berated my partner for stepping over the little rope barrier and was quite rude to him. It put a bit of a damper on the rest of the visit but otherwise it was OK.

A nice warm welcome on a cold rainy day. A plastic bad was supplied for our very wet raincoats which was great. Lots to see inside and some beautiful chandeliers and carpets. All in all a very interesting place to visit and beautifully looked after.

A must-see Attraction in Brighton, the decoration and the design are amazing and is completely different from what you can see in the exterior design. There is a free audio guide that is really recommended as you can discover a lot of details about the Pavilion. The ticket is even worth it for a year so you can visit as many times as you want. The staff working inside is really helpful as you can ask questions about the Pavilion and they answer very nicely. The girls working in the shop were very friendly.

It has been a really good experience at the Pavilion in Brighton, you can scan with your phone camera the QR code at the beginning of the tour and the guide will be on your phone taking you through the history of this amazing place 😊

I don't think it is worth paying the entrance to see what is inside if what you are looking for are just instagrammable pictures. The best picture you can get here is actually from outside. The exterior of the building, which you can freely walk to.

This is my favorite place in whole trip. Staffs are so helpful. And I like the introduction audio . It help me a lot to know more history stories . No need to rent the audio machine . You can use your phone to scan QR. but if you are willing to donate 2 ponds to support them is also not a bad thing . I strongly suggest to pay ticket to get in. If you have train ticket , they give you special ticket rate buy 1 and get 1 free. And it’s a one year pass. Even as a foreigner I might only visit this time, but I still think it’s a good money to spend .

Surprisingly good and unique as a tourist spot. Do a quick google of the history of the site and, if the history interests you, you should not miss it, as the preservation and information are great. For the average person, it’s still a smorgasbord of opulence, with riotous colours and shapes of oriental inspiration mixed with imperialist structuralism. Pricey, which makes it a 4.

Amazing place. For a few days we came from London to this beautiful seaside town of Brighton. we took a look at this beautiful mansion. The Royal Pavilion, also known as the former royal residence. It was built for Prince George of Wales. There is now a beautiful park where people are very relaxed and enjoy the beautiful views of the pavilion.

Absolutely stunning inside, we went here on a whim not really knowing what to expect but both me and my partner really enjoyed looking around. It was on the expensive side but I found it worth the money, and when you factor in all the effort they put into preserving and maintaining the building it's fairly priced, and ticket lasts 1 year. The lady we bought our tickets from said it's even better at Christmas so if you're around when they've decorated for Christmas I'd highly recommend checking it out.

😐 They're beach huts! They don't provide any type of service. They just kinda sit there, being huts. As huts go, they're quite colourful. I'd go as far as saying that they're probably the best beach huts I've ever seen, which isn't saying that much. If you're a beach hut fan, or maybe just dabble in g...
