Just Wow. A must visit place. Wonderful exhibits. They’ve different galleries, a wing alone for the historic exhibits, which were a lot (we weren’t able to see everything). And artistic exhibits are also Amazing. They’ve hot shops showing the glass demonstrations almost every 30 min, throughout the day. Definitely attend one. Don’t miss the innovation floor, it was quite interesting. There’s a beautiful gift shop with so many things and a good cafe, with vegetarian options. And Yes, make your own glass is nothing we can actually make, but only choose what shape and colours you want, and you can have really closer look, which was still nice to experience. It would be good if it’s specified clearly on the website what to expect. Also would love more interactive exhibits. Definitely a great visit.

It is a very nice museum to go with your kids. Entrance is free for kids. If you want to make your own glass with a trainer, you can do it for 24 usd.

This is a MUST VISIT museum even if don’t like museums or aren’t interested in glass, I’m sure you’ll be fascinated by the beauty of glass, live demonstrations, knowledge and tidbits about glass characteristics and history. Drove over from Ithaca and a Cornell college visit and it’s only about an hour drive away which is well worth the trip. So much to explore and enjoy and the museum shop is massive and fascinating in its own right. Easily spend 2-3 hours here and not have enough time.

The CMOG has a world-class collection of glass artifacts from the earliest beginnings of glass making, to modern art. If you are looking to experience "all things glass" this is a great place to visit. If you are looking to take an in-depth study of a certain subject, you will probably be disappointed. The entirety of the "Early American" bottles and glass items that are on display is shameful. The quality of the display shelves would be rivaled by Value City Furniture. In many instances there are killer (sometimes unique) bottles on a dark, crowded shelf where they can hardly be seen. An American museum that displays early American Glass so poorly is just a shame. The items that they probably have packed away in boxes that are not on display, is mind-boggling. But they will probably never see the light of day. The gift shop is phenomenal.

During our couple of days staying in the nearby town of Watkins Glen, we had the opportunity to visit the Corning Museum of Glass. I found myself wishing for more time to thoroughly explore the exhibits; 45 minutes simply wasn’t enough. Thankfully, the museum offered us a complimentary return entry valid for the next four weeks. Our visit began in the auditorium, where we were treated to a 20-minute live demonstration of glassmaking. The demonstration included a video detailing each step of the process, with a focus on the heating furnace used to melt the glass. The museum itself is segmented into various sections, including a prehistoric area, each richly filled with diverse displays. There was an impressive amount of security to ensure children didn’t touch any delicate pieces. The descriptions provided beneath each display were informative and added depth to our visit. The gift shop was remarkably large, the biggest I’ve seen in any museum. Although there was a café on site, it was unfortunately closed during our visit. Overall, visiting the Corning Museum of Glass is highly recommended for anyone in the area. It’s an enriching experience that shouldn’t be missed.

There are many lovely artworks to see that would educate your thoughts and consciousness. The museum arrangement is the only reason I gave it four stars. The galleries are not well-organized to display all of the artworks. You might miss a few of them because they are in a blind spot. In addition, the signs directing you to the galleries were unclear. While looking for gallery #6, we ended up in gallery #7. And walking the #7 led us to the #6 at the end. Aside from that, there is a live show in gallery #3 at certain times which a glass making process is demonstrated to visitors. Check the time slots and arrive on time to watch the show. It is included in the price of the ticket. On the ground floor, there is a museum shop where you may purchase the most stunning glass pieces. Based on the prices I've observed, the price range is about between $10 and $10,000. Overall, it's a must-see museum in Corning!

Three museums in one - you have a science center-like portion in the center, an art gallery wing, and a huge gallery on glass history. Add to that, a massive shop in the center and multiple live demonstrations areas, and it's easy to see why there's a lot to take in with the Museum of Glass. We spent a whole morning here, and it's a blast.

We made ornaments and it was so much fun! The museum was a ton of fun! Both the modern side and the other side! Learning how glass is made, and has been made throughout history was just amazing! If you are ever in the area I suggest you stop by and do it!! You will love it because it is awesome!!

Great museum, there is a lot to do, we were there for 4 hours and there was more things to see and do. There are many exhibitions, workshops, different short shows that demonstrate work with glass, suitable for both children and adults. There is also a large gift shop with great variety of beautiful glass works at good prices.

Wow!!Wow!! Never thought that the museum would be this exquisitely beautiful and educational for us. An amazing place to visit with family and you will get fascinated by seeing all the beautiful exhibits. The live demos were really interesting! You can make your own glass products by booking early. The gift shop was astonishing and I wanted to buy each and every product from there. The entry ticket is for 2 consecutive days and free for 17 and under. Would love to go back to this museum when I get a chance! Amazing experience!!!

Very beautiful place to visit and also get lots of knowledge about glass making history and optical fiber. Don't forget to watch both of their glass blowing demonstrations. If you want to make your own glass, book it at least 3 months before your visit.

Really appreciated the indoor decorations. The ambiance here is not just elegant and cozy, but every detail brims with artistic flair. Under the lighting, each ornament glimmers like a gem, illuminating the entire space. In addition to the interior decor, the glass-making demonstrations are also a highlight. This is not just entertainment, but a learning experience. Spectators get to see firsthand how artists transform ordinary glass into beautiful pieces of art. The skill and creativity exhibited during this process are truly breathtaking. You can watch as the glass softens under high temperatures, then gradually takes shape under the artists' adept manipulations, eventually emerging as gorgeous handicrafts. Moreover, watching these demonstrations provides an opportunity for interaction with the artists. During breaks, they explain their creative processes and answer questions from the audience. This not only allows you to gain a deeper understanding of this art form but also enables you to feel the artists' passion for their craft. These experiences have left a deep impression on you about this place. Whether it's the meticulously designed interior decorations or the fascinating glass-making demonstrations, they have filled your journey with color and joy.

I must admit that this museum was a culture shock for me. I have been to different museums around the world, but I have never seen such a huge number of exhibits not just made of glass, I have never seen so many techniques for making glass art. I want to warn you that one day is not enough to see everything. And we ran through all the halls only because we had to return to Canada in the evening. I liked that in the gift shop you can buy a lot of beautiful glass items, including jewelry. I bought several gifts for friends. I frequently visit the museum's web page as well as the store, and have made several purchases online. Glass jewelry inspired me to create my own jewelry, which I sell on Etsy.

There is so much to see here. Kids 17and under are free. An admission ticket is good for 2 days. There are 3 theaters with shows almost every hour with some type of glass blowing. There is a Cafe on site if you get hungry and elevators for strollers and accessibility ♿. I took photos in the gift shop only to post because honestly you have to see some of these things to believe it.

It was a fantastic experience. There were so many beautiful glass pieces in all shapes and sizes to view. Thousands in total. We also saw a glass blowing and class cutting demonstration. They have a cafeteria with some decent hot meals and a variety of snacks and drinks. It's definitely a unique experience.

The entire experience was amazing!! The live glass blowing show was very informative for everyone! The only sad part of our trip, was the gift shop. Came across many items that were made in China!!! If it seems low priced, check the label or ask a sales associate if it was made in the USA!!! 🇺🇸

I love visiting this place. The modern art installations are my favorite part of the museum, but the whole thing is really well done with amazing architecture and always something to learn. This time we were able to visit a demonstration in the hot shop, which was really fun. And we also were able to take advantage of making some of our own glass after making a reservation. That was super fun. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had no much clue what to expect in a glass museum when we started our day here. But this place is mindblowing, and we ended up spending 5 hours going through everything here. We had such an amazing experience watching all the beautiful exhibits and learning many new things about glass. Entry is $30 for adults and free for kids of any age. We had basic sandblasting added as well, which was $14. The place is worth every dollar we spend. Live demos - we saw glass making and glass breaking demo as well. It was great to see how the glass is turned into different forms just by blowing and rolling. The glass breaking was very informative. We also did the sandblasting, which was a fun activity. Must watch place upstate newyork. Nature lovers can take a break and spend a half day here enjoying cool things made of glass and learning some new things.

Such an amazing experience in the museum. Everyone who visits there will get a chance to see how any glass products are made, the techniques, the way they create it, weld it and burn it ❤️‍🔥 in the high boiling temperature boiler. Great art of Designs are crafted here. A lot of experienced glass makers are seen and working here.. great souvenirs of glass variety are available in the museum shop. A half a day is required to explore the complete museum. A small cafeteria come kitchen is available to serve food. Not a great menu but ok for quick bites. Overall a great experience .. I heard it to be the world's first glass Museum.

Very engaging museum which can keep adults and children busy for several hours. You can explore the glass art gallery, discover the amazing science behind everyday glass objects, with many hands on displays that keep kids looking for more. Additionally there are free to watch live presentations (glass making and the exciting glass Breaking). For additional cost you can participate in a glass making session (good idea to pre register to save a spot). While this was interesting, we were a little disappointed since participation in the actual glass making is minimal. Also note that you either need to come in the next day to pick up your work or pay an additional shipping fee. Lastly there is a great cafeteria with a wide selection of foods that are very reasonably priced (not typical for museums). Free parking is available with an EV charging station. If you are up in the Finger lakes area this is definitely a great place to visit. When you're done, you can chill out in one of the many wineries or breweries in the area.

This is an amazing museum with so many cool displays. There is something for everyone & the gift shop is the largest I've ever seen. It is worth the price of admission & they also participate in the Museums for All program if you receive food assistance with am EBT card. The parking lot is close but they do have shuttle busses if you park farther away.

Out of the world, didn’t realize the amount of creativity you can have in glass. Cool to see the demonstrations quite a few of them. Cafe is great and have a lot of vegetarian options. Loved the store as they have 20% off on store wide which was an added bonus during the 4th July weekend.

Lots to see here. Demos of various glassworking techniques by staff. We made our own beads and pendants (extra charge per person but a lot of fun). The industrial information was the most interesting to me personally. A huge gift shop/store area too, with things from $10 to $10,000+

An absolutely great time there. Kids made some glass art in the “hands on” area and we saw some interesting demos and artwork. This was the main point of our vacation and we were not disappointed. Gift shop left a little to be desired, but a fantastic place to spend a day. Great cafeteria and the pulled pork noodle bowl was awesome.

This museum was such an amazing stop on our way to Niagara Falls. Everyone enjoyed from toddler to adult. The sandblasting class (additional fee) was a lot of fun and the glasses came out beautiful. Our three year old even designed her own. I'd highly recommend. The cafeteria offered a wide variety of foods and was clean and fast. We look forward to visiting again.

We had a great time at the museum. It was definitely more crowded than we expected. The artwork is stunning with a lot of unique exhibits. We added on the make your own glass. One of us did a pendant and she felt like it was really hands on. Others did the ornament and it wasn’t so hands on (minimal involvement, which made it kid friendly though). But it was still cool to be in a true hot shop. It was all worth it!

I had so much fun at the Corning Museum. I paid for a museum ticket and signed up for a blow your own glass experience. I made a pendant for the blown glass and it was so fun. I got to pick my colors and an instructor helped me add the colors and pull everything properly to make my design. It took a while for it to come in the mail but it was worth it. The museum was a lot of fun and I loved the demonstrations!

  • 5/5 La-Kia K. 8 months ago on Google
Hubby discovered this place before we left for our trip, so we stopped here. We really enjoyed each exhibit and the demos. Sad that a guest almost messed up a display by touching it, even though there was a sign informing them not to touch. We will definitely come back so we can make our glass work of art. We took advantage of the gift shop as well. Each staff member we have encountered was friendly and helpful.

I knew about the Corning Museum of Glass by casually when passing by the village. I didn't know that this was the biggest museum of glass in the world! I loved it. There's more than 50 thousand glass objects. There's plenty to see and to learn about. Some pieces are over 3,500 years old, and some collections are just stunning! There's also some interesting and interactive projects. The place is very well kept, organized, and clean. A plus: the store is amazing!

I knew about this museum more than 25 years ago but never felt interested to see displays of corning cook ware. Of course I was wrong. This place is about arts and science of glass related technologies. So much to see and absolutely worth the visit for people of all ages. I particularly enjoyed the creative design exhibition. Every piece is beautiful and special.

Corning Museum of Glass is one of my favourite museums to visit, it is part art gallery. The glass collection is just stunning to see the creativity in this difficult medium. They have many different types of informational sessions throughout the day and are very educational for people of all ages. It’s a good visit if you are going to Niagra falls. There is an amphitheater show which happens every half hour and it’s a really good show. You don’t need to buy the ticket online. You can spend almost one to two hours here. Also there is a cafe and restroom available. The Corning Museum of Glass is a must-visit if you're in the Niagara Falls area. It's not only a short drive away but also offers a unique and captivating experience. One of the highlights is the amphitheater show, which runs every half hour and is truly impressive. Watching skilled artisans craft intricate glass pieces is both educational and entertaining. One of the advantages of visiting is that you don't necessarily have to purchase tickets online in advance; you can buy them at the museum, making it convenient for spontaneous travelers. Plan to spend at least an hour or two exploring the museum's extensive collection of glass art and artifacts. It's a fascinating journey through the history and artistry of glass. Additionally, the presence of a cafe and restroom facilities adds to the overall comfort of your visit. The cafe offers a variety of refreshments to recharge your energy after immersing yourself in the world of glass. Whether you're a history buff, an art enthusiast, or simply looking for an enjoyable outing near Niagara Falls, the Corning Museum of Glass offers an enriching and enjoyable experience for all ages.

Wonderful place to visit! The glass making experience was wonderful for myself and my 11 & 13 year old. My complaint however, is that the reservation system used for the glass making is very outdated. We finished early and wanted to purchase another experience- we were the last group and still had over an hour left on our reservation. We were told that they were not allowed to add any more items. Here I am trying to spend more money and they wouldn’t take it! I was very surprised.

INCREDIBLE! Our eyes were sore after looking so closely at so many mind blowing creations! It was almost too much in the gift shop, you could easily spend over an hour there just taking it all in. They did have a lot of things from China which almost ruined it for me, so just beware and look at the place of origin on everything. If it's cheap, it's probably from China. Otherwise it was a great place to visit! We saw a live glass blowing show which was really awesome and very informative. I took so many videos to relive the entire experience. Parking was free and onsite, it was across the street and about 100 yards away but wheelchair access absolutely. As most museums are it was very clean and organized with hand sanitizing stations a plenty, which we were thankful for.

Much more here than you'd think. How much glass can there be? Lots, lots of glass. History of glass, modern glass, contemporary glass. The glass blowing demonstration is pretty cool. Best part might have been the gift shop. Easy to spend 100-200 bucks, might have been partially due to covid and having excess inventory, but some great deals on glassware and gifts for Christmas right now.

We enjoyed this museum immensely. It's quite large with a variety of glass displays, both historical and contemporary. There is a really cool hands on science center ish are with exhibits on the different uses for glass. There are some glass craft demonstrations as well as some hands on craft activities. The crafts are extra and space is limited, so order these tickets ahead of time.

It was a beautifull museum. It was really cool to see the live demonstration, and the glass from antiquity was really interesting.

A wonderful museum filled with modern and ancient glass. A spectacular collection, well worth a day or a week of exploring. There are live demonstrations and you can even make your own pieces. You do have to buy entrance tickets in advance but they are available same day. They only allow a limited number of people and everyone’s in masks so you feel very safe.

I love this place! I've been going here since I was a kid, and I'm impressed every time. Gorgeous art with a lot of heart. I also really love making my own glass sculptures and necklaces when I go here. A little on the pricey side, but you definitely get your money's worth. I highly recommend getting the package deal with the Rockwell Museum to further enhance the experience.

👍👍 Corning is a lovely little town. The Gaffer District is their main strip of storefronts. I really liked it. The street was clean and well maintained. It was really convenient as a tourist to have all the restaurants and shops within walking distance of each other and my hotel.
