Yoho National Park is like a paradise on earth. It has lots of hidden gems like the Natural Bridge, Lake Emerald etc. The sceneries are breathtakingly gorgeous. Not many people visit the Natural Bridge so it's very calming and relaxing. Lake Emerald is so beautiful with its turquoise-colored water. Yoho is a must visit.

The most instagrammed location in Canada. Stunning scenery. Advise for moraine lake you need to use shuttle bus service. You won’t get parked. Car park fills up at 2 am for the sunrise.

September 2022. Yoho National park was incredible, I got to hike several amazing trails such as the hike to Takakkaw falls (very easy) and the hike to Wapta Falls (moderate). Both were great. Emerald lake was also very picturesque, although parking is limited so you will probably end up parking far down the street it’s totally worth it. I managed to get a campsite at Takakkaw falls by showing up early, it’s about a 500 meter walk to get in though from the parking lot it was nice n quiet. I was also very lucky and got a last minute opportunity to go to Lake O Hara, I hiked the full Alpine circuit up there took me almost the whole day one of the most difficult trails iv hiked and maybe the most spectacular hikes iv ever done, the park offers a lot of great hikes and views it was a little smoky when I went maybe because of wildfires up north, even so this was one of the nicest areas i visited in Canada. its just as good as the nearby Jasper and Banff National Parks if not better imo, would highly recommend.

We went here last October 2023 and it wasn’t that crowded. The weather that time was cold but bearable. Although I saw some people swam in the lake!! Not sure if the water was cold too 🤣 Now I know why a lot of people are in awe of this place. No words can express how beautiful this place is!! A paradise indeed. Please add this to your bucket list!!

Yoho National Park (/ˈjoʊhoʊ/) is a national park of Canada in British Columbia. It is located within the Rocky Mountains along the western slope of the Continental Divide of the Americas in southeastern British Columbia. The word Yoho is a Cree expression of amazement or awe, and it is an apt description for the spectacular landscape of massive ice fields and mountain peaks that rank among the highest in the Canadian Rockies. Yoho NP is bordered by Kootenay National Park on the southern side and Banff National Park on the eastern side in Alberta. Yoho covers 1,313 square kilometres (507 sq mi), and it is the smallest of the four contiguous national parks. Yoho, together with Jasper, Kootenay and Banff National Parks, along with three British Columbia provincial parks—Hamber Provincial Park, Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, and Mount Robson Provincial Park—form the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site. The park's administrative and visitor centre are located in Field, British Columbia, beside the Trans-Canada Highway. Common species of animals that roam in this park are the timber wolf, coyote, badger, moose, elk, mule deer, mountain goat, golden-mantled ground squirrel, rufous hummingbird, hoary marmot, wolverine, cougar, pika, lynx, grizzly bear, and black bear.

A beautiful area, but a little disappointed that they are closed by October when neighboring parks like Kootenay, Banff, and Jasper are still open. Couldn't do any of the hikes we planned because certain roads were closed. Bummer.

Amazing views of lake emerald!! GreaT turquoise and emerald colored water !! Mesmerized with the views at every point we hiked around this lake. We saw a BROWN BEAR eating berries in the bushes atop the hill. Very close up view of the wildlife made our day. We hiked in the trail around the lake , half of the eco system Is so different like the rainforest and other half is like alpine. Enjoyed the beauty of the nature!! Highly recommend to visit this lake if you plan yoho national park. Finally ended in the emerald lake lodge cafe for coffee and dessert

Absolutely beautiful! The size of the falls and mountains are breathtaking. Careful if you climb up top, rocks fall down quite often* The water is cold and fresh, fill up your bottle at the bottom.

It is a nice park to go to if you are in the Banff-Lake Louise area. It is worth driving 20 minutes to. We saw Emerald Lake and the Natural Bridge. The Takkakaw Falls was closed for the season and so was the visitor centre.

Emerald lake was beautiful but it was very crowded. Loads of tourists were dropped off there. When we visited there were people on canoes in the middle of the lake making loud noises and there went the trasnsquility of the lake. The hike up from the Emerald Lake to the Emerald Basin which is a natural amphitheatre was very nice. It is 3km each way and was not too strenuous. We saw the glaciers and spectacular mountains towering over us. We also highly recommend the visitor center at Field which is excellent.

  • 5/5 shashi k. 3 years ago on Google
What a scenic beauty. It's a pretty long walk to the falls. So, those who've health issues should better mind it. Not ideal to visit in the evening, especially in fall and winter. Please don't wear sneakers. Hiking shoes would be better.

Yoho National Parks was one of the first national parks we passed through in our bus tour of the Canadian Rockies in August 2019. The region is incredibly beautiful with some lakes, forest trails, camping sites, waterfalls and mountain peaks to be seen. There are some Alpine lodges where you can have a fine vacation and enjoy the scenery. We visited the Emerald Lake though we did not stop the night. It is off the Trans Canada Highway near the Kicking Horse Pass.

  • 5/5 Paul E. 3 years ago on Google
Love the sights of Yoho, particularly Takakkaw and Wapta Falls. Takakkaw is a bit of a drive in but only about 5-10 min walk to the falls down a simple path. Wapta, while the parking lot is closer to the highway, is a bit more of a hike to get to but definitely worth it. Emerald Lake and the natural bridge are cool as well and there's a resort out there to stay at. Be careful when going back onto the highway, it can take some time to find space, some acceleration lanes would be nice, hopefully in the near future.
