Quality not always justifies price… So I wanted to find out what’s all that noise around this place. The cuisine in this restaurant, one out of a few of a small group called Cañadío, is originally from the north region of Spain Cantabria, Asturias. There’s been a lot of words and it seems this is one of the trendy spots in Madrid now that the city is up and coming… so let’s get down to business, food & atmosphere business. Two complimentary small eggs filled with tuna open up a culinary experience. But that’s about it. Culinary in its full sense since everything else disappointed, specially the grand check finale. We shared the clams northern style and tried the pil pil hake fish and the steak tartar. Had a couple of glass of Ribera del Duero wine and ended with cheesecake. Cheesecake was actually spectacular. In general all the quality and the food was amazing. But then, I am willing to pay these prices if the experience is all around. That is, an amazing good friendly service (lacked this night) an outstanding atmosphere (if you go here in the coming months avoid the upper right room since it was super hot) and yet again this outrageous prices 🤯 what is this people? To keep the story short, basically this is overpriced and overrated. There are plenty of restaurants in Madrid with the same level of quality and half the price. Because you can’t justify overpricing for quality therefore my rate is 3 stars.

So torn in giving this review, I'd say 3.5 stars, but gave them the half point to give them the benefit of the doubt perhaps they were having an off night. The staff was not attentive and quite short with us, nothing like the quality of attentiveness that other reviewers seem to have received. They also had the heater way up which really wasn't a pleasant eating atmosphere especially when you're busy distracted trying to remove as much clothing as you can. Stars all given towards quality of the food. The clams, hake fish (which was my favorite out of all the dishes), and steak tartare were all delicious. The cheese cake was melt in your mouth delicate and flavorful, I'd say don't miss ordering this. The restaurant itself has a classy look, dim lighting for those romantic style or a celebratory dinner. Definitely on the pricey side, so take that into consideration when dining here.

One of the best experiences in Madrid. Service was attentive and the quality of the food and presentation was to a high standard. Appreciated an English menu and can safely say that this was one of my top Madrid restaurants.

The place is at the middle of a fashion neighborhood, very cool to walk around before dinner! It has a nice atmosphere and delicious food! The waiters are very attentive. I will recommend this place to anyone that wants to enjoy a fabulous evening.

Great Light lunch. Really enjoyed what we had. You are in the fashion district so it is more expensive that other places but worth it. We ate outside but after going in I wish we had eaten inside as it is beautiful. Flavors were fantastic!

Superb food and a very good wine list. Loved their tuna salad called "ensaldilla de atun".

Exquisite decoration both inside and outside (great summer terrace with water atomisers) great service but disappointing food. When you charge 20 eur for ensaladilla rusa (a potato and mayo based spanish staple) and 30+ eur dor mains you cant afford to undercook potatoes and serve rather small portions. 110 eur for a two person meal no desert.

Impeccable service and perfect dishes. Just make a reservation and go! Maybe (probably) the world's best cheesecake. Seafood to die for.

Excellent restaurant. Amazing starters with octopus and black ink and pasta with cod in garlic soup- really delicious. The only negative point is the 1,5 and 2 shift pressure- dishes are being served to quickly and that’s really a shame. I hope they will adjust this in the future.

Great flavors and careful preparation. Beautiful space. Bathroom was a bit chaotic with overlapping doors. Some young and somewhat inexperienced staff but was a holiday so I'm sure not typical.

Delicious food! With many varied dishes. The service it’s quite slow and the atmosphere it’s very calm, missing some background music. Tip : if you reserve ask for a table upstairs.

Lovely restaurant but outdoors sitting is limited and we ended up inside. In an almost empty restaurant they seated us by the toilet where it was extremely cold. We asked to be moved elsewhere and got a better high seating table in a much nicer temperature room and with the street view. For some reason we waited some 10-15' to order. The food was excellent and well presented. All recommendations but book your place early to make sure you can sit outside.

Lovely Spanish cuisine, with an imaginative interpretation. Friendly and professional service.

Really lovely food and fantastic waiters, despite our lack of Spanish! Food also came surprisingly quickly. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing, which was a great choice as all the wines complemented the food, especially the pasta and potato soup dish (in the photos) with the white floral wine.
