Wow what a paradise! Tumbili Lodge was such a wonderful surprise just outside of Arusha central. The owner Ellen had a magnificent vision for the gardens and has brought this vision to outstanding fruition. The grounds are stunning, the staff are friendly and so welcoming. We went for lunch and greatly enjoyed the surprise menu where the kitchen staff curated a delicious four course menu. We enjoyed it so much we are going again to stay the night surrounded by the luscious gardens! A real must see if you are in the area, or a destination if you are passing by! Thank you!!!

Beautiful gardens. Price versus setting, it's one of the best places to eat in town. Try the beef fillet. Lovely staff, and the lodges are very nice.

I was lucky to spend two nights in this absolutely incredible place. The cottages are very beautiful, tastefully decorated. They are scattered across a huge and very flowered garden. A big congratulations to the two owners for their work. Tumbili reminds me of an oasis, a green haven in the midst of a noisy city. You feel completely disconnected from the world here. If there's only one place to choose in Arusha, it's this one. You won't be disappointed. Thibaud (the french safari guy).

We stayed here at the conclusion of our safari and it was magical. We were feeling very sad about our safari ending, however the Tumbili Lodge assuaged our sadness as it was so beautiful, special and ubique. The individual lodges are more like small homes - they are spacious with high ceilings, modern and beautifully decorated, clean, and romantic. The bathroom had the largest most unique soak tub we had ever seen (in addition to a large shower). The explored the grounds of the whole property and it was all gorgeous with so many different unique / romantic sitting areas that also offer drink service. The restaurant was gorgeous and DELICIOUS. The table next to us even asked to speak with the chef personally about how good the food was. Probably the best food of the entire trip and a special change from the many buffets we had during the week of safari. The staff was lovely. This is a gorgeous special place to begin/end your safari in Arusha (10 mins from airport). We loved it :)

Gorgeous oasis far from the business of the city, immediately greeted with a fresh juice. Truly transported to a luscious sanctuary!

Picture Paradise! That is what it was like for us as we first walked down the path to enter Tumbili Lodge. We had wisely chosen to spend a few "rest" days in Arusha before and after our safari, and our tour operator, Tanzania Choice Safaris, arranged for our accommodation at Tumbili Lodge. Words cannot adequately express the serenity of walking around the grounds of Tumbili Lodge. The owners and staff were always available to make sure everything was perfect. We were well taken care of by Tumbili's excellent personnel including owners Ellen and Koe (unsure of this spelling), and staff members Leah, Obedi and Nato (also phonetic spellings!). The individual guest houses are comfortable, quiet and private. The main lodge was the site of some wonderful meals, but it was the outdoor lounge with fireplace where we were treated to our most memorable meal experiences. There is also a large, sheltered gazebo-type building next to a lotus pond on the property for beautiful dining. But it was the gardens especially that most fascinated us. Each landscaped area had a wide variety of flowering plants and each was meticulously imagined and maintained. If you choose to spend any time in Arusha during your Tanzanian safari, you absolutely MUST stay at Tumbili Lodge. You will leave there refreshed and with great memories of Paradise!
