Magnificent sight down town Moscow to see. It is very casual and nice with very different architecture and inside design. Must see for understanding the incredible orthodox Russia and ancient history of Eurasia. Do not miss entrance it is behind white wall on Bolshaya Ordinka street.

An oasis of peace, tranquility and silence in a noisy metropolis. His sisters are involved in helping the sick and poor, and also do a lot of charitable work with orphans and the disabled. The traditions of the monastery were founded by Grand Duchess Elizaveta Feodorovna and have been preserved to this day. She dedicated the name for her monastery to the sisters of Lazarus, Saints Martha and Mary, who became a symbol of two paths of Christian service - contemplative prayer and active love. Since 2008 A museum has been created in the Marfo-Mariinsky Convent telling about its founder. Anyone can visit it. Every day at 11:00 and 15:00 there are excursions around the monastery, which begin at the Intercession Cathedral. Visitors can see two restored rooms, in which in 1911. Elizaveta Fedorovna lived. Her embroidery, icons that belonged to the Grand Duchess, a piano, a service with the family coat of arms, photographs and documents are kept here.

Interesting place in the center of Moscow (15-20 minutes walk from the Red Square). Very cosy garden. Rather quiet and inspiring despite location. Free historic excursions on Sunday (midday). Astonishing murals of Nesterov inside main (Porkovskaya) church. Better have some cash with you

A beautiful and peaceful little Monastery in the center of Moscow. The main church is very special and contains relics of St. Elizaveta (new martyr).

An amazing place full of spiritual force, which can tell you a lot about tragic Russian history. You will surely learn more about Russian Art Nouveau and Russian Revolution and its anticlerical fight.
