It could be said, Plawangan Sembalun is the entrance gate to the top of Rinjani. This place is claimed to be one of the best spots of Mount Rinjani. The beauty of being here cannot be described in words. You can only be stunned and amazed.

Great view, on the edge of the mountain, with splendid view on the lake and Rinjani peak, but it's a trash field 🙄. Although people are supposed to bring down their trash, so many are disgusting and littering the camp site with plastic bottles, noodles cups, packing materials......a total scandal.

if you’re a hiking fan - definitely go! but i’d suggest hiking easier mountains before you take on this one. made the mistake of going to Rinjani for my first hike and I didn’t reach the top. But the view is BREATHTAKING. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful. The rain ruined our trip and we had to go back down after one night there.

First campsite before Rinjani summit if you're coming from Sembalan village side. The campsite is right on the rim, with views of the peak, lake and the valley. The views are outstanding. Don't be surprised by monkeys and even wild boars slopping around and looking for food around the tents.

The second highest volcano in Indonesia. It was really fun and cold there, and also good place to challenge yourself. Unfortunately there was a lot of trash as well, I hope people become more aware to this issue.

After exhasuting uphill hike, you can feel bit moment of achievement when reaching pelawangan sembalun. We can see rinjani mountain & segara anak lake. The sunset is also really beautifull

Beautiful campsite area before the Summit attack :). There are 4 sites (Pelawangan 1 to 4), Pelawangan 1 is closest from Sembalun route & Pelawangan 4 closest to the Summit trek. Each campsite is 200-300m apart.

The views are absolutely spectacular! We had a terrific guide and porters. They provided jackets, tents and sleeping bags. The food was great and overall it was a magical experience. ⛺🌋🌄🗻

Super beutifull

The waterfall is beautiful, but getting to it is not easy. If you are climbing through the village of Torian, think about tickets, because after about an hour and a half of the ascent you will stumble upon a house with local guides who will not let you in without a ticket, you cannot buy a ticket. on the spot, only via the Internet, there is no connection upstairs and you are sent back downstairs to buy this ticket. agreement will not be possible. at the bottom there is no information that tickets are needed, there is no box office either.

Last spot prior summit to top of mount Rinjani. Great view of top of mount rinjani and lake. Previously at this area there were fresh, clear water source and proper toilet, however its gone due to inproper maintenanace and earth quake. During the night, town light view and milky way will make this point almost perfect. Minor point to be improved is waste management and water source.

Extremely beautiful sunrise and sunset views from this campsite. Gets a bit crowded and is not very clean itself. This is the ideal campsite if attempting Rinjani summit for sunrise.
