Must see site. Astonishing beautiful and big. You can spend your day in the park. Paid parking is only €1. Some walking and a lot of stairs to do or use the elevator.

The Via Sacra, which the pilgrim climbed on his knees, is made up of a path lined with chapels that correspond to the Stations of the Cross. Continue along the staircase of the Five Senses and the Three Virtues, which symbolize the spiritual journey of the believer, who must learn to master his senses and acquire the three virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity to achieve salvation. The staircase of the Five Senses is double and with crossed ramps; the base is formed by two columns in which a snake is coiled; the water comes out of the snake's mouth and slides down its body. Each relanzo is adorned with allegorical sources related to the five senses: water flows from the eyes (sight), the ears (hearing), the nose (smell) and the mouth (taste). The touch is represented by a character who has in his hands a pitcher through which the water flows. Follow the Staircase of the Three Virtues, adorned with fountains that evoke Faith, Hope and Charity. Each balustrade is decorated with obelisks and statues that evoke characters from the Old Testament. At the end of the monumental staircase, which constitutes one of the most surprising Baroque works in Portugal, stands the austere sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, carved in gray granite and enhanced by the whitewashed walls.

Site with a beautiful view of the city of Braga. You can walk up the stairs or, if you prefer, go by car further down the road

Wonderful to go up on the oldest funicular in Europe and go down on foot. Thousands of athletes run up and down this wonderful staircase

the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life, and look, I traveled a lot. The bells ringing at 12, with the views and a light rain??? It was a unique and magical experience. It was 3 degrees, but I didn't realize how much fun I was having. There is a large church, with Illuminati symbols inside, the fusion with Christianity is very curious. I'm surprised that it is such a magnificent place and they only charge 1 euro for parking, it's great.

Once in a lifetime experience! If you’re in Braga you must visit this place. It’s cool to see the locals use the stairs to work out and I would too if I lived here.

Amazing place with great climate, on November/December period it is very nice, humid climate, like in mountains, also not too many people. Bus number 2 straight from train station is only 1.55 euro

No charge. Coffee and pastry at the top. Bus to the bottom (number 2 every 30mins). Interesting scenes.

Well worth the visit. Great vistas and views, all very Instagramable, and try aiming for the golden hour. Have a look at the photos. Check the weather before heading out. Wear comfortable shoes for climbing up stairs... trust me. Also bring along a bottle of water, you'll thank me.

Wonderful place, exercise and interest in one. The biggest 'stations of the cross' I have ever seen and lots of water features. As well as the church. Fantastic!

Love this place. Climbing up seems more intimidating than it is. At almost each stair landing there is interisting art.

An unique and UNESCO world heritage site, surrounded by a lush forest where you can hear a plethora of birds singing. The views over Braga city are well-known in Portugal, but you'll have to climb more than 500 steps to fully enjoy it. Piece of cake. :)
