Amazing location. Clean and tidy rooms. Some rooms have great views of the city. Restaurants and Bars within the hotel are awesome. Something to specifically mention is about the Italian Corner, it was fully occupied on a Saturday Night and we got a piping hot pizza served in 5 minutes. Totally unexpected but extremely delicious. Drinks are good too though a bit on the pricey side. Swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and fitness center are all good just note the timings when the pool is used for fitness activities and is not allowed for hotel guests use. About the cleaning service could use some improvement - they took the bathrobe and did not replace it with a new one, they took the empty body wash bottles and again did not replace it and also they did not provide a replacement for the coffee stirrer either - how do you expect me to mix my coffee? Such small things do matter. Everything else was perfect !!!

Very pleasant stay in this hotel. The staff was very nice. The room was very big and comfortable. However, the swimming pool is sometimes closed due to external lessons. But you can still go to the sauna/hammam/jacuzzi. It's sometimes very crowded, so choose your swimming schedule carefully.

As a frequent traveller this was the ideal room, everything one needs and little or nothing one does not need. A proper desk space, excellent storage, easy to use bathroom (ie not a shower arrangement one needs to fiddle about with), space for exercising & fully opening window. Reasonable bar prices too.

The Japanese restaurant is amazing, brilliant staff. The lifts are saddening due to wanting to go to the spa floor but there is only one lift for it and then another lift comes that doesn't go to the spa floor.. just silly. The pool is normally full of couples so if your with kids do be alert of inappropriate happenings. Staff are helpful just wish the directions around the hotel were too. Beautiful interior but the view in some rooms face the insides of other buildings. Not the best for privacy but comfy beds and spacious closets.

Nice place close to the city center. You can walk or take the bus from near the hotel. We loved the big and spacious rooms. Very clean. The gym and swimming pool was really nice too. Our 2 year old enjoyed it! The staff was supportive too. Very big breakfast spead with a nice variety of warm eggs, breads, fruit cheese, sliced meats, cereal, cakes and pastries. There's a little something for everyone. It's worth the price you pay. We always had a large breakfast and a small on the go lunch. Their in-house restaurant and skybar are also a plus. It's also possible to have room service and space in the room to eat it which is helpful with a toddler. Very neat and clean too (ofcourse there are carpets in the room which are clean, but if you're super sensitive to dust then it could be a problem. So just a warning) Overall RECOMMENDED !

It is located very close to railway station and also close to major restaurants. It is little challenging access as it is right after the bridge with sharp turn. It has on-site restaurants- one traditional and other one is Italian. Traditional restaurant food is ok (I had a burger) however pizza at Italian restaurant is awesome. Rooms are ok. It has strange design as toilet has no wash sink so you have to come out of toilet and go to washroom separately. My room has river view which was great. Staff is very friendly. It would be good idea to have more English speaking employees. Hotel also has over the ground and under ground parking. The main issue for this hotel is fitness center. It doesn’t open 24X7 so it is basically useless for business travelers. Overall it is an outstanding establishment.

Nice location, right next to the river, the night view was great from the hotel room. We entered the restaurant later in the evening, the service was so poor I cannot believe that it is a 4* hotel. I did give my feedback to the front desk when I checked out. The manager of the hotel even came to apologize which had made up for it a bit.

Room was ok- view was of river was also ok w a sunset in the middle of town. The parking was not great. Xtra for parking is not ok. Breakfast is always great. Same with the wonderful bathrooms.. For a night it's convenient & easy to access for tourists. The bar & lounge upstairs was wild & definitely a local crowd pleaser..

“I had a great time staying at Van der Valk Hotel Liège Congres. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made me feel welcome and comfortable throughout my stay. The breakfast was delicious and had a lot of variety. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Liège.”

This is not a review for stay but for fantastic customer service. My trip was cancelled last minute due to medical reasons. The hotel was so kind not to charge me for cancellation and gave full refund. This shows the quality and helpfulness of the hotel. Thank you so much.🙏🙏 I will soon plan for a stay at This hotel. Another review for stay will follow soon.

My review is not for the hotel but for the brasserie. The food was, unfortunately, not meeting the standards of a 4-star hotel, it felt like fast-food and it was insanely overpriced. The prices on the menu had increased and didn’t match those from the QR code present at the tables (based on which we ordered). They didn’t agree to charge us based on the QR code menu as we had ordered based on that and no discount was offered. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend the food at this hotel (23€ for fast food burger.. and 10€ water)

The room is spacious and we'll furnished and in a good condition. The location is very central and therefore also good. The breakfast is also good with a lot of choices. However the service is not good (maybe bad service became normal in Europe) however you have to bring the laundry bag yourself to the reception and also pick it up by yourself, which is very unusual. The garbage bins have not been cleaned frequently in the room. At the breakfast the person which makes extra omelettes and different eggs was rarely seen.

The hotel room we had was nice and spacious with a nice view of the water, hotel facilities are kid friendly, the hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna to relax and a gym. The bar/restaurant in the ground floor was also kid friendly and has a nice atmosphere, also good to go after a long day for a drink. However the 2 receptionists, young girls, have made our stay a little awkward and uncomfortable, on the second day of our stay, we went for a walk around 11.30am and before we left the hotel my husband asked the girl with brown hair if it’s possible to have the room refreshed, we came back almost at 5pm and all I wanted was to take a pain killer and lay down as it was a long day for me (having a 6months old on a carrier and a 3 years old on stroller for 4h of walk), we went to the room and it was not refreshed, so we came back down to the lobby and told the blond girl that we have asked the room to be refreshed at 11.30 she then asked 11.13 or 11.30? (Which I think does not even matter for 17min of difference), proceeded to ask the room number and sent a msg I believe to hk of the floor (they are provided with work smartphones to communicate, I believe, which is nice), no apology for the inconvenience, no empathy at all. We sit on the waiting area, at that point I was really exhausted and waited for like 15 min, I got up to exactly ask the same blond girl “how long do you think it will take to clean the room?” The blond girl made a smile and said “I don’t know”, can you check please? she lifted the phone and I asked “are you just gonna ask to clean the room just now?”, it seemed like it offended the both of them, the brown hair girl interrupted and said “excuse me?” “Don’t talk to my colleague like that” with a laugh I replied with “like what exactly?”, she said I’m being rude (for asking a simple question after more than 4h almost 5 from the request), they both said if I wanted to see the message they have sent, I honestly didn’t want, but I wanted to see the room clean instead of the message, they didn’t show anything and the brown hair girl kept on saying things like I’m being rude and to not talk like that to them, which up to this date I can’t understand what was wrong with my question, she was still laughing and I have told them it’s not professional to laugh in front of a guest that is not up to joke around with them, at that point I have requested to speak to an sv or manager, explained to him what has happened and how I have felt, they told us the “do not disturb” sign was on the door, but we made sure before leaving at late morning that it was on “please clean my room” sign, I told him to go up and check with me, he agreed, we arrived to the room and the hk did not even start cleaning yet, the sign “please clean my room” was on, he apologized for what has happened on behalf of the colleagues too and he made sure the room is refreshed, took about 10 min to do. ( they could have handled it differently by apologizing for the inconvenience, and by following up with their colleagues by phone for a better understanding, since they are provided with good tech to communicate), I also want to add that they seem to have a hk on every floor as we would see them start early and stay on the same floor late afternoon (5pm), special mention to the woman who seems to be the usual of the floor, which I wish she was on shift that day, she is very nice, always greeting and very professional, so lack of staff was not the problem. I want to also mention that it seems like it was just the two of them or just the brown hair girl who interrupted when I was not speaking to her, her intervention was not needed, who have a different core values and no sense of costumer service or guest relation, the gentleman in the reception went over the expectation with his costumer service/problem solving skills, when we have asked him for an umbrella and there was none left as it was pouring rain, he lended us his own umbrella from his car, other receptionists were really nice especially the woman who checked us out.

Okay experience , staff is very busy so not too many hello's from them . Maybe it's old fashioned , but would've been appreciated . Tried to go to the spa, but looked like a public pool . Tried to go to the skybar , was full also , so not many things to do as a guest since you can't reserve your spot for those things . Breakfast was really nice tho !

In general the hotel was decent, a bit on the expensive side though, with nice rooms, good facilities and delicious food. However we experienced some strange situations. Firstly, even though we booked there for a business meeting which means their payment was guaranteed by our companies, in the reception they asked us to pay for the room the exact moment we arrived. This also happened to another colleague of mine. My wife and I are Greek and he was from Germany. After discussions with our colleagues from other European countries, we 3 were the only ones who were told to pay the entire cost of our rooms upon arrival. All the others paid on the check out. When we asked why this happened they replied "for safety reasons" and that "they did not know".

The hotel is located close to the central town of Liege. You take a walk about 20 min to the famous stairways of Liege or the midtown. The hotel has 10 floors and is pretty big, so don't be afraid about a crowded breakfast area on weekends or a not so quiet pool area. If that's no problem for you, you will find a good serviced hotel with a good price ratio. Our room on the highest floor was clean, big with a modern bathroom. The bed was pretty hard. The breakfast was good with a great selection of everything, especially fresh pressed orange juice. The pool and wellness area has a nice pool, small sauna and a nice terrasse. It would be nice if the hotel would offer towels in the wellness area. Since our sauna towels were missing in our room we had to asks for them - okay no big deal. There is a big shopping center nearby and a nice park. Besides breakfast we did not try the restaurant or the skybar on the top floor. A small tipp: Across the street is a very small PIZZA PINSA delivery service - the best Pinsa we ever had. Take a bottle of wine with the pinsa and head for the park nearby for a nice sundowner with a view to the river.

Didn’t get a chance to fully enjoy this hotel but it was interesting, trendy and clean. Room service was quick and decent. Nice view overlooking the river.

Rooms were very underwhelming, I asked for a quiet room, I got given 216 which was the absolute worst room I had been in a hotel, the amount of noise starting at 8 AM was unbelievable, windows were dirty, TV remote was not there. I then got moved to room 924 which was fine but had no AC which means it was an oven. Avoid room 216 at all cost, and if you get that room, go to a different hotel except if you dont mind being in constant noise. First staff (the 2 men) were very unfriendly and rushed my check-in and the magnetic card was failing so I had to go back downstairs, and when asked refused to change the room to something else than 216. The woman staff was more friendly and changed it, also apologized for the issues. Also BE AWARE there is a 100€ deposit that is not mentioned anywhere.

Loved everything. Good room, bar, pool, parking, service. I lost my expensive glasses, left them in the room. Was not sure where I left them, so I called VDV to check if it was accidentally here. They found it and they are sending them to my address tomorrow (Belgium to Holland!) Only had to pay sending fees (10 euro). What a service

The spa area is great and the staff very nice. Though the hotel rooms feel small and there was leftover food laying outside some rooms for about 24 hours which made the hallways smell bad.

All staff were accommodating and approachable. The front desk is open 24hrs. The choice of food and beverages offered at beakfast service was extensive, fresh and well prepared. There is a pool and fitness suit that guests can access if they wish to. There is a well stocked bar and guests can eat and drink inside or outdoors. The rooms are well appointed and the entire hotel was clean.

I got a 2 bed apartment which was very comfortable. There r just few things like a plaquette in the bathroom nicely reminding if you want to reuse the towel please hang them.....In the bathroom there are only 2 hangers?! Not very practical at all. Especially when bathroom serves 2 double bedrooms. Also attention should be more paid for cleaning as I found half drank bottle of red wine.....I guess it was overlooked.
