Gigantic prawns I remember organising makan drive with my car members for the very first time after joining the car club in 2015. Before that, it was my brother-in-law who brought me to taste these huge delicious crustaceans in the northern town of Serendah in Rawang. Back then it was a hot & stuffy affair to dine at Yew Li due to the less than satisfactory ventilation of the restaurant. Fast forward to 2022, more than 6 years after my last visit, I came back with the whole family after a half day trip to a plantation not far from here. Luckily I called earlier to make reservation as it was full house by the time we arrived. I noticed that they have since installed air cooler for more comfortable dining environment. ◾Freshwater Prawns at RM130/kg, I'm not complaining as I've seen other places selling at much higher price. Instead of steaming which they also have, go for their signature dry style (kon cheen) - the moment the prawns were served on the big steel plate, everyone ooh-ed and aah-ed; camera started snapping before everything else; admiring the caramelised sauce coating those 500 GRAM prawns. When stretched out, the prawns were longer than our forks (look at the pic). I was in heaven - the prawn roe spilled out as I prised the head open, scooped every drop and enjoyed the sweetness. ◾Stir fried petai with sambal - simply squeeze the calamansu for that added zing! ◾Fried spring roll - homemade with pork caul fat and deep fried to perfection. Perfect snacks while waiting for our other dishes. ◾Sweet & sour pork - an old school dish that was done right here! Crunchy pork coated with the tangy sauce. ◾Fried roast pork with dark soy sauce - I could taste the sweetness from the dark soy sauce and sugar. ◾Yellow wine chicken - a bit too sweet to my liking; others said the same ◾kangkung belacan - spiciness was good without overwhelming the crunchy vegetable ◾Beancurd with minced meat - kids favourite ◾Stir fried yaw mak Reservation highly recommended to avoid disappointment of being turned back.

No regret travel to this restaurant to have their signature dry fried big head prawns which rich in roe,the sauce is so yummy, like eating caramel, sweet enough, and the meat is fresh too. Ordered some other dishes which I felt above average~Wild fresh Soon Hock fish, Steam Toufu though simple yet delicious, and Petai with ikan bilis.. Worth to pay for the bills, will come back soon to try their other dishes. A polite and humble restaurant despite of their popularity and crowds.

5 star for the large big head river prawns 👍🏻. Rarely you get such big river prawns. It was juicy and tender. Certainly fresh but have to preorder before going. There are not many tables and it’s best to book a table first before going. Otherwise be prepared for a long wait for the food as there’s only one cook. The steamed fish we ordered was equally good, just nice not overcook but it’s not wild variety. Price was very reasonable at Rm50 per kilo. Current prices for the big river prawns are Rm130 per kilo and one kilo gets you about 2 large river prawns on average. Other dishes are average only though.

A hidden gem in kampung seri serendah. Generous portions, delicious & affordable! Opens daily 11am-7pm except Thursdays. Reservations are highly recommended to avoid disappointment if you should patronise on weekends and during peak hours.

Visited for lunch on 23.7.22. By the way the restaurant closes at 7 pm. Around 10 tables , so booking recommend. We had big head prawns. Ordered 4 for 4 persons. RM130/kg. 4 prawns is around 2 kg. Cooked two styles -signature kon chin (dried caramelized prawns) and steam. I prefer kon chin, though is slightly sweet. Also had salted fish pork belly which is yummy. Wine lala. Lala is small in size. Also had fried nai pak (mini pak choy). The vege is a little tough. Not to my liking. Restaurant well ventilated.

Fresh and delicious seafood dishes we had here. However, advisable to make reservation especially on weekends. At least half an hour waiting time for dishes to be served.

Quite a hidden restaurant with fresh river prawn "大头虾", price reasonable but depends on size & daily market price. If 1st time here better check b4 order. Fresh river fish @ no mud smell. Other dishes are normal.

This chinese restaurant is a hidden gem in serendah, their signatures dishes like panfry or steam prawn, fish, spring roll, etc, quite pricy, need booking as the popular dishes will run out fast. This is a non air conditioner restaurant.

Clean, comfort, yummy foods, reasonable price! Staffs are very polite too, ordered few of their signature dishes, not bad overall! Strongly suggest to make appointment as seats are limited.

Booking their soon hock is a must as limited, sells out fast and very fresh. They even serve the liver and stomach part, something you don't find often unless its really fresh and clean. My fave are the juicy succulent marmite grilled prawns with sinful tomalley. The deep fried sliced pork is better than their ribs, too much bones. Crispy ikan bilis in their sambal petai but the sambal could be better, prefer the malay style where the sambal pecah minyak. The noodles in the sang har mee not as good as the last visit here still decent. They weren't fried puffy and therefore were harder to dissolve into the gravy. Would pick the grilled prawns over this noodle version anyday.
