The
best
Loh
Mee
I'd
eaten
so
far
During
my
research
on
what
to
eat
in
Ulu
Yam
-
it's
a
well-known
fact
that
Ulu
Yam
is
famous
for
loh
Mee
so
naturally
I
would
want
to
try
one
of
the
best
(if
not
the
best)
-
I
found
Swee
Yen
located
in
Ulu
Yam
Lama.
A
bit
of
detour
from
my
intended
destination
but
the
lure
of
a
good
bowl
of
loh
mee
proved
too
much
to
resist.
Sure
enough,
they
were
packed
to
the
brim
when
we
arrived
but
lady
luck
must
be
shining
on
me
as
one
group
of
diners
were
leaving.
Initially
I
wanted
to
order
more
food
but
the
kids
were
still
quite
full,
hence
I
could
only
order
a
few.
◾Loh
Mee
-
Never
thought
I'd
say
this
but
I
actually
liked
the
noodle
(not
a
fan
of
loh
mee).
The
fragrant
of
black
vinegar
instantly
permeated
the
nostrils
as
the
bowl
of
thick
noodle
drenched
in
thick
sourish
broth..
kinda
like
shark
fin
broth.
What
I
like
about
the
noodle
was
the
QQ
texture
of
the
noodle,
the
amount
of
vinegar
was
just
right
(not
too
much
nor
too
little)
and
the
fragrant
from
the
pork
lard.
The
accompanying
sambal
was
such
a
perfect
match
with
the
noodle.
◾Fried
fish
cake
&
lorbak
-
ordered
it
for
the
kids
to
munch
to
keep
their
tummy
filled
but
ended
up
eating
most
of
them.
Both
were
fried
perfectly.
◾Fermented
beancurd
pork
belly
-
still
a
favourite
with
the
kids.
I
spotted
nicely
steamed
river
fish,
freshwater
prawns
as
well
as
the
delicious-looking
kau
yuk
mee
hoon
on
other
diners'
tables
but
those
will
have
to
wait
until
my
next
visit
to
this
area
again.
