We
were
ripped
off
but
the
host
of
this
restaurant.
When
we
were
seated
at
a
table,
they
immediately
served
us
a
plate
of
cured
meat
that
we
didn't
ask
for.
Since
they
gave
it
right
away
and
didn't
tell
us
anything,
we
assumed
that
it
was
on
the
house
and
ate
it.
When
I
went
to
the
lady
to
pay
for
the
bill,
she
gave
me
the
total
amount
without
showing
me
the
receipt.
I
paid,
while
thinking
that
the
price
didn't
seem
quite
right.
I
got
the
receipt
after
I
paid
and
found
out
that
they
charged
me
7.50
euros
for
the
plate
I
never
asked
for
(called
Tabua
de
Enchidos
on
the
receipt).
I
didn't
know
what
to
do
because
I
felt
awkward
about
the
situation.
I
went
to
the
bathroom
and
then
came
back
to
the
lady
and
asked
her
what
the
7.50
euros
were
for,
and
she
gave
me
some
super
vague
explanation
of
the
dish
it
corresponded
to.
It
was
super
confusing
so
I
gave
up
because
I
didn't
want
to
deal
with
the
situation,
so
I
felt
the
place
with
a
very
bitter
feeling.
Something
that
I
noticed
while
I
was
there
is
that
the
lady
only
placed
the
plate
of
cured
meat
on
tables
with
foreigners,
but
not
on
tables
with
locals,
so
she
clearly
knew
what
she
was
doing,
and
was
clearly
trying
to
rip
off
foreigners.
Later,
when
i
talked
to
local
people,
they
told
me
that
it
was
common
for
some
restaurants
in
Portugal
to
do
this
kind
of
practice
to
rip
off
customers.
I
was
really
shocked
about
this
experience,
because
this
restaurant
is
located
in
a
tiny
village,
always
for
the
big
touristy
towns,
so
I
was
not
expecting
to
be
ripped
off.
My
advice
for
this
restaurant:
either
avoid
it,
or
refuse
any
plate
you
didn't
order.
