We were ripped off but the host of this restaurant. When we were seated at a table, they immediately served us a plate of cured meat that we didn't ask for. Since they gave it right away and didn't tell us anything, we assumed that it was on the house and ate it. When I went to the lady to pay for the bill, she gave me the total amount without showing me the receipt. I paid, while thinking that the price didn't seem quite right. I got the receipt after I paid and found out that they charged me 7.50 euros for the plate I never asked for (called Tabua de Enchidos on the receipt). I didn't know what to do because I felt awkward about the situation. I went to the bathroom and then came back to the lady and asked her what the 7.50 euros were for, and she gave me some super vague explanation of the dish it corresponded to. It was super confusing so I gave up because I didn't want to deal with the situation, so I felt the place with a very bitter feeling. Something that I noticed while I was there is that the lady only placed the plate of cured meat on tables with foreigners, but not on tables with locals, so she clearly knew what she was doing, and was clearly trying to rip off foreigners. Later, when i talked to local people, they told me that it was common for some restaurants in Portugal to do this kind of practice to rip off customers. I was really shocked about this experience, because this restaurant is located in a tiny village, always for the big touristy towns, so I was not expecting to be ripped off. My advice for this restaurant: either avoid it, or refuse any plate you didn't order.

A very charming and traditional Portuguese restaurant with great food and service. I ordered bacalhau and my husband the pork and both were delicious. We also got a bottle of house red wine and it was tasty. Server and manager were very friendly and accommodating. We went there without making a reservation which I don't recommend. But they didn't turn us away. The decoration of the place is unique, rustic but very charming. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Fatima. Ps. Prices are very affordable too. Spent $75 euros for a family of 4 with appetizers, entrées, wine, juice, a desert and two expressos.

Excellent quality and very few well prepared dishes. Slightly overpriced given the serving sizes.

Read the great reviews and was deeply disappointed. Bacalhau was flavorless and the boar was inedible. I thought they were playing a joke on us, very sad since we really wanted to like this place

The place is refreshingly authentic regional cuisine and deco. They even bring out the local goats cheese drizzled with local honey. The place is very charming and due to the stone walled building very cool in the summer.

We visited the Fado Lantern with the help of Google and as always, we like to visit the best restaurant of all the cities we visited. It was a wonderful surprise when we found this place, the rustic look of the house is simply amazing. Probably the best restaurant we visited in Portugal, not only because of the house, but also for the food, from the appetizers to the desserts. Another point tha't I have to make is about the attention they gave not only to me, but also to my kids, very kind and attentive and we felt like we weren't tourists.

This is the best place to eat near the sanctuary of Fátima. The food is excellent and the price right. The owners are very polite and appreciate your trust when giving them the opportunity to be part of your trip. Second time I take my family there. Try the cow cheek dish.
