If it was a wine bar, I would have given a 5+ star. It is by no means, though, a dining place. More of a wine tasting with desserts. As a wine/dessert bar, I would say it is an exceptional experience with lovely and professional staff providing wonderful wine pairing. However, because I thought it was dinner, I left the place disappointed and hungry, yet with a high intake of calories.

The Ultimate Guide for Sensorium: This is NOT only a Desert Bar. It's sweet and salty and remember this is more an experience rather than going for Dinner. The venue is open from 9pm for 15mins before they close the door. You cant come late! So I suggest you grab a little bite&drink at 7:30pm around that area and then have a 5 min walking distance to there. Why? Because at night taxis are mostly super busy and Uber will be very expensive and also late. You dont want to come late or be stressed and losing 100€ for a no-show penalty. This is currently a hidden gem in Milan. Yes 5* are absolutely correct. This was one of the best experience I've ever had. As a person who travels for food and is a fellow pastry chef, I couldn't miss out on an opportunity to try Federico Rottigni's awesome concept of "Insomnia" when I was in town for my partner's graduation. We booked for a Thursday evening not knowing that they were closed (but we all blame technology for that mistake) they called us asking if we could reschedule and we couldn't, as it was our last night in town. They didn't cancel our reservation as I was expecting them to do, they opened just for us and performed everything as normal but on a far more intimate and personal level. I can not even explain how wonderful the team is, how amazing the drinks and desserts were, and how unique the experience was! It was so exciting, entertaining, and all around the most interesting thing I have experienced ever. If you get the chance to book a seat (try not to do it when they are closed for their sanity) I think you should! No pictures were allowed as the whole experience was designed to be a surprise for your enjoyment. Trust me it was worth it! And I guess you were allowed one photo but not of the fantastic treats you ate and drank, but of yourselves after the whole experience! Thank you all for the awesome early birthday gift! Was an absolute pleasure to meet you all!

Dessert Bar Milano has beautifully woven gastronomy into a theatrical experience whereby you are the main character. Immense thought has been given to each dish: the taste, the presentation, the idea they want to convey from it, the wine/kombucha pairing, the music/sounds that enhance the experience. It is no wonder that a large number of diners make this their last meal of Milan/their trip, because there is no better way to wrap up a trip. If you made a reservation, good for you, cause this is truly an unforgettable meal; a spectacular experience for all your senses.

What an excellent dining experience, not only did we eat very delicious food, we got to enjoy a well-executed performance that involved all the senses. The dishes are themselves thoughtful, and you can feel the overwhelming effort the chefs put into making your evening special.

Simply wow. This is not a typical food experience, this is an unconventional, sensorial experience stimulating the five senses. I don’t want to spoil too much, but during this 9 course menu journey we had the chance to eat great food in crazy shapes and ways, smell new and weird things (like the smell of the space), see fluo colors and listen to perfectly matching music. In fact, I had to look for some of the music being played during the dinner, as it was so good, researched and perfect. This is something that I particularly appreciated, as I am very picky with music as it was quite unique to find such a good curation of music at a restaurant. And last but not least, the personnel is extremely kind and I really believe that Federico Rottigni is a genius. We can’t wait to be back in six months, to experience the new menu!

The best experience ever. A small-scale, intimate dinner experience with light show, sound, music, beautiful presentation and wonderful food and drinks. We were taken on an amazing journey, the dishes were all made to intrigue and startle our taste buds and we have experienced a beautiful beautiful concept. High dining immersive experience that is unmatched. Every detail, from the ingredients, lighting, music, and even smell, does not go unnoticed. The sensorium restaurant has hit me already twice with the menu "Reborn" Please do not expect a traditional dinner, not in terms of food nor in terms of the overall location or evening . As the brand suggests, it is an immersive experience that will stimulate all of your senses for a memorable evening and a long term digesion..in terms of emotions of course! The mix of alchemic wines and the selection of food is simply unique and they highlight and incredible amount of experience, work, passion and thoughts. This is something you'll never forget just because it's simply uncomparable. Thank you guys for the emotions-opener experience I'll always be grateful.

A unique experience from end to end. Entering a rather anonymous doorway in a side street to a warm and personal welcome. Counter seating with personalized service through the entire experience. Nine well composed servings paired with handcrafted cocktails. Each dish was full of imagination, flavor and served with a story. Lights, sounds, music, smells and tastes all blended to create the perfect storytelling and dining experience. Thank you Federico and team for a great evening in your care.

This is an amazing experience, not comparable with anything you have done so far. you cannot compare this another restaurant. you need to be ready to get disturbed, but you'll definitely travel and experience things you could not think of. ++ for the amazing soundtrack of this magical night. 1000 thanks again to all the team.

A conceptual set menu with an overwhelming immersion experience. This is not just a 7 course set consisting of sweets, as some mentioned here. Actually, number of desserts is same as in most set, limited to a pre-dessert and a dessert. The concept of the menu is going to involve all your senses, which makes this a unique gastronomic experience. This is a place about more then just food. I believe, you should have some experience with haute cuisine, before coming here.

Was a bit of a challenge to find, but worth it. Strongly recommend the peanut desert and the Old-T with caramelized tobacco leaf. I found the creme brûlée a bit too sweet. Despite that, this is an experience not to be missed.

You can certainly find great food and wine in here, but if you're willing to immerse it may be the case you'll be given something deeper. At most times I seek a logical reasoning of an experience, why did I liked a certain place for example. It is usually the food, the people, the atmosphere. It is a rare occurrence to have such an immersive and deep experience as this place gifts where there's more to explore than food and wine. Thank you for the personal experience, it is something one cannot forget. I booked an experience at Dessert Bar Milano not fully knowing what I’d be in for. There is a certain sense of mystery and secrecy that had me intrigued. Part art, part culinary excellence - Insomnia is a 6 course dessert & drink experience that plays with all the senses. Chef Frederico invites you into the mind of an artist and surprises and delights you at every turn. Some courses are tongue-in-cheek and playful, while others boldly take on abstract ideas like “Space” but make them tangible in how you’d smell, see, hear, and taste the chef and mixologists interpretation --- all while being delicious and masterfully executed. The cocktail pairings(alcoholic or non) truly worked to complement the dessert and would stand alone as mini works of art by themselves (Bravo Riccardo!). If you are the last seating, hang around after and grab a cocktail - I’d recommend the Negroni (It’s the best I’ve ever had). As a New Yorker and a well-travelled foodie, I’m a tough critic - but Insomnia is the fresh breath of creativity we have all been waiting for. This hidden gem is a Milan must-do!

This is unique in Milan: don' t miss it! Dessert Bar is something I have never tried before. A very special dining experience, an introduction to a new way of thinking about dessert. Every plate of the 4 course menu with the paired cocktail was delicious as a real dinner and I was astonished with the flavors. The chef Federico really know how to surprise your senses!

I went to Italy with a friend and in specific to Milan just to try out this bar restaurant, and guess what? I just fall in love with everything the experience, desserts and cocktails they were magnificent. Everything exceeded my expectations I would definitely come back again, and I would definitely recommend this place. This time we´ve wanted to do something different during our trip to Milan. After some research we found Dessert bar Milano. We had a reservation for 10am for 4 people after dinner. It was a perfect end to our beautiful day. The drinks and the dessert were combined perfectly. And you would finish the experience not feeling heavy at all despite having dinner before. Lots of thanks to Federico who hosted us. We will definitely be back next time in Milan.

A magical evening of the 5 senses! Chef Federico Rottigni just opened his first restaurant in Milan. Dessert Bar Milano, just south of the Duomo, and will surprise all your senses from; a) taste with sophisticated flavors and drink pairing, b) beautiful experiential plating, c) smell from delicate pine-scented fog to rose petals d) soft romantic décor, mood lighting and music with each dish, and e) touch of not only your tongue but, your emotions as well. It’s a destination in Milan for a romantic sensual evening, but also a global destination for fine dining and dessert!

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!! I highly highly highly recommend anyone to go here. From start to finish it was amazing. I can not speak highly enough from the moment you walk in to walk out they treat you with a real personalised experience. The food, well, is different and leaves your tastebuds thinking what was that in some courses but when they tell you it is a dining experience it really is that! It is so much more than the food. Even at the end, the 4 guys stand and speak to you and make you feel welcome asking about you and why you’re here, about your life everything. It just makes you realise the service you are missing at other places when you go out to eat. I could continue writing forever about this place because it’s well and truly probably the best restaurant I have ever been to in my life and I’ve been to some good ones!
