We cannot recommend this experience enough. We took the Stenella Whale Watching Tour and had THE MOST amazing experience, it has been worth every single penny. They clearly care a lot about the wellbeing of these animals and carry out the encouters in a very professional and respectful way. They contribute to science with every sighting. They are extremelly kind in giving great explanations and answering every single question with care and passion. Our guide Paula was superb, as was our captain Daniel in approaching these animals in the right way and The staff guiding us from shore - thank you so so much! We got to see three different cetacean species and could not be happier. It is really gratifying to know that while you are having the most amazing experience you are also contributing to science. Do not hesitate!

It was an amazing experience! First we got an explanation about safety and rib boat. Then we saw two types of dolphins and one small whale. During a tour we got a lot of information about dolphins and their behaviour. The staff was super kind and funny. They also care about animals and respect them! It was also short time of fun and driving super fast at the end. I would definitely recommend this company! One of the best experience in Madeira ;)

What an excellent experience - we had a great guide who provided lots of information about the marine life of the area (fluently in 3 languages). The boat was magnificent and we were lucky to see quite a few dolphins and a sea turtle.

Fatima's knowledge of Sea life is absolutely mind blowing and contagious, we were lucky enough to catch 3 different species of Dolphins this morning and a Cuvier Whale 🐳 The trip was safe, enjoyable (rapid boat) and right on time (unlike me) Go large, don't hesitate for a sec 🌊

Absolutely fantastic experience. Kids loved it, we loved it. Paula and Daniel have been amazing! We saw many dolphins, pilot whales, turtles and a Physalia. The Speedboat was awesome, too. Paula takes the protection of the ocean and wildlife super serious. Definitely a sustainable adventure. Thumbs up, will book again!

The really nice guide Paula is an expert for dolphins and whales. We had a German tour, which is her native language. I highly recommend the speedboat tour "Stenella". We saw 6 different kinds of dolphins an whales. Everyone at Lobosonda is really kind. They are also working for animal protection. Thank you!

Perfekct guidance, friendly mood, great driving even with see sickness! They are taking care the animals too, I recommend them for everyone!

Dolphin and whale watching was one of the things we were most looking forward to on our holiday. We turned up and were given a safety briefing, straw hats and waterproof clothing before being led to the wonderful traditional boat. Boy, did we need the waterproofs! It rained from the moment we left the harbour to the point the trip was cancelled about half an hour in. I've given 4* because they can't stop the rain, made the right decision to cancel when they did and gave everyone full refunds. Very disappointed we didn't see the dolphins but the impressions of the company were very good. We're just sad that it was fully booked for the remainder of our holiday so we couldn't rearrange.

We have been on a number of Lobosonda whale watching trips, both on the Stenella and Ribera Brava and its become one of our must-do's on a trip to Madeira. Every guide we have had has been very friendly and so knowledgeable, with great stories and information to share about the wonderful creatures in these waters. And when you do spot a dolphin or a whale...well, nothing quite compares! You do need to book trips knowing that you may not see any whales or dolphins at all - you are not visiting an aquarium, and nothing is guaranteed! But the staff will do their very best, and we are much happier with how respectful the staff are to the wildlife, keeping their distance and stopping the boat as needed to keep everyone (including us!) safe. Cannot recommend enough!

Went dolphin snorkelling on the Stenella and my goodness was this an experience not to be missed! Paula was absolutely wonderful guide. It was super comfortable journey and we saw lots of dolphins and some pilot whales. Cannot recommend this enough. Even if you’re not in the sea, the dolphin watching from the boat was superb. Go and experience a lovely slice of nature!

It was an Awesome Experience for us! The Team made a really good job,i Loved the Respect for the Animals and the Enviroment and i loved the Way our Guide (Camilla) did her Job! We saw some Bottlenose Dolphins,a large Group of Pilot Whales and a Portugese Galley! Definately a 5/5 Trip!

Very nice tour, the company's goal is to have respect for and educate about the wildlife in the sea. We saw several dolphin groups and flying fish. We went with the zodiac boat, small group. Very nice and friendly crew; guide Paula (very knowledgeable and her enthousiasm is infectious), captain Daniel. Special thanks to Paula's mother for helping with spotting and additional information! 😉

We had a great time with Lobosonda and enjoyed every minute of it. The guides made us feel safe at all times and we learnt interesting facts about the ocean animals. We love that Lobosonda clearly states that we are the guests out there in the water and treat all the animals respectfully. We can‘t wait to come again! Thank you for those memorable moments :-)
