The actual starting point for the trail is few hundreds meters south from the pin Google routes you to. You will find a small parking with a sign pointing the direction to Sossego. The trail takes around 35mins down and then 45 mins back up. You start going downwards about 1km then see a sign with the pedestrian trail going to the left. Then you start walking in the woods for another 1km until you reach the cascade. It took us a total of 4.2km and one hour and a half, elevation is 230m. It is a nice sight, maybe worth going there during the day as it is pretty dark on the trail. We did it before the sunset.

Overweight and out of shape people read here!!! I have a lot of restaurant reviews for a reason! The hikes not terrible, does have a lot of up hill and down hill but it’s do able! Waterfall is beautiful and you can swim at the base!

Beautiful hike that would consider moderate. Total elevation gain is 900 feet. Some portion are on cobblestones that can be slippery when wet. The trail was muddy but not overly so. There are several picturesque falls along the way before arriving to the main attraction. The former ghost town on the return trip is cute.

Beautiful waterfall hiking trail. Not terribly hard but definitely some incline at points. BEWARE of chickens on trail. Can be scary if you’re afraid of birds like me

Wonderful spot, path easy to follow and lots of streams. But this is not the pin to follow if you want to get to the waterfall… this leads you in a country road with nothing but fields. You needs to follow the pin for the walking trail a little lower on the map. Enjoy !

Beautiful waterfall and a nice not to difficult walk. Trail starts at this point in Google maps Trailhead - Cascata Salto do Prego. In a slow walk with a 6yo, less then 1 hrs per direction. Road path is clear and with signs. Cold water and a pool that is nice to deep your feet in, or if you're brave, enter fully 🥶😉

Did this hike from Faial Da Terra. Went up to the village of Sanguinho, which is not as deserted as I read in other forums. Lots of friendly cats and chickens/ roosters. Can get slippery on the rocks after rains- so wear hiking shoes. We did it at a leisurely pace and took about 1hr 40 min. About 4.5 km total.

The hike, the waterfall are really worth it. Very clean, super well marked. In life, it's not only about the destination. This place has it all

Very nice hike, should come on a nice day not when it is wet, with good hiking shoes. Salto Prego is relative easy to access although there area few places with steep paths.
