We went to this restaurant on our last night on the island, and what a horrible experience. The Picanha was great - juicy, tender and tasty, the side dishes we chose - rice, fries and black beans were far from great. Wine list is very good and vast!!! Service is awful!! Staff were clearly exhausted or fed up, and every time they came to our table, they breathed heavily with discontentment. We felt really uncomfortable to the point that we left as soon as we finished our meal. Our experience on the island has been fantastic. We have been to amazing places, way more simpler than this restaurant, which had an amazing service, happier people who always had a smile on their faces. Such a pity that we had to finish our trip like this... Every single person (staff) in that place looked like they were suffering - this makes your customers feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. If it wasn't for the good meat, they wouldn't survive. Really disappointed!

I ordered a rare sirloin steak with chips. The steak was cooked to perfection, which I appreciated. It was followed by a papaya and lime carpaccio for dessert, a delightfully refreshing dish that served as an excellent end to my meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the promptness of the service. From ordering to the dish arriving at my table, the process was impressively quick. The food was delicious and didn't leave any room for criticism. However, the experience was slightly let down for me due to the lack of warmth in the service. It felt particularly cold and mechanical, with a complete absence of any smiles or welcoming gestures. Although it may seem like a small aspect, it is a critical one. Being made to feel welcome and receiving a level of genuine care and attention from the servers makes a tremendous difference, which was unfortunately lacking in this instance. Service is an integral part of any dining experience. It was the only thing holding this experience back from a five-star review.

The place is so underrated, the food was excellent, as well the service was friendly and fast. I will be back to get more photos, I was hungry so I focused on the experience. (forgot to take photos of the meat 😂).

Picanha sliced and served at your table and cooked to your taste was delicious. Great selection of meats and even greater selection of wines.

Would be 5 stars for husband's pichana but €24 for 2 prawns is very overpriced. Mentioned as much to the waiter but received a smirk and shrug in reply. Had he justified the price (somehow) would have been a different review. Good place for meat eaters but otherwise not so much.

Great location! Nice atmosphere and ambiance. Professional service. Meat really delicious (maybe something to adjust regarding the cooking time but it was really really good). Good priced wine. We had a Malbec for only 20€. We will pay another visit once we will back to Funchal. The food offer is so good that you need to be back!

Overall a really great restaurant in Funchal for the real meat lover! We went three times to Beef & Wines during our 10-day stay in Madeira. I would definitely recommend choosing the Picanha, which will be sliced at your table.

Pumpkin soup hot but a bit bland. Sirloin steak was superbly cooked, with heaps of chips & green peppercorn sauce. A great place to go if you love your meat at a reasonable price.

Overall a nice dinner. The wine recommendation was great, and the food was also tasty. A bit more on the pricey side, but worth it! I did find the seating arrangement a bit odd - I was there with my partner (I reserved a table for 2), and we were placed at a table which was directly adjacent to another table with 2 people (but no gap between the tables) - many of there tables are arranged like that. This was a bit awkward but was alleviated after we moved our table further away.

The restaurant was very disappointing. We always ate meat (picanha)here, it was very juicy and delicious. But this time the meat was tough and overcooked. At the same time, the bill was not cheap, as always.

Sadly this was our worst meal experience on Madeira. It had the potential to be great, but was let down by a series of mistakes. First we were given the wrong bread course (given a more expensive option by mistake, and we didn’t realise)… and then told we’d be charged for it. Then my main course was wrong, and when I pointed that out the waiter tried to persuade me to keep it saying it was the same cut. I eventually got the right dish - Espetada - but it was overcooked and we suspected the first dish had been repurposed. Finally my glass of wine finished the bottle and looked short to me. The manager/owner? asked us at the end how everything was as we explained. He was very apologetic but by then it was too late to fix. Madeira has many splendid restaurants, and I am afraid our experience here means we won’t be giving it a second chance. For excellent beef try Kampo instead.

Amazing experience! Loved the burrata, plancha & chocolate tart. Wine was great too. Such a nice evening would 100% recommend.

The pichana is incredible. Very juicy, tender and absolutely full of flavor. All you can eat, where you will keep getting served at your table. Got great help with choosing a wine that went well together with the meat. Creme Brule was the perfect dessert to finish or the meal. Wonderful service as well!

Amazing meat, great service, lovely wines. Brilliant atmosphere and local to the bunch of hotels west of Funchal. If I visit madeira again it'll be top of my list. Go get hammered in pub number two round the corner while you're out.

If you like beef and wine then you're in heaven! Best to book in advance to not be disappointed. Having had a rather large delicious starter, I couldn't quite finish my steak dinner, so asked for the reminder to be bagged up. It made for a delicious steak sandwich for 2 the next day.

It was a very nice experience. Food was prepared perfectly (Steaks). Wine was also very tasty. It was a very nice evening, thanks to the complete staff who were very attentive.

The setting is quite singular, the meals are so tasty and delicious, the service is …. as delicious as the meals (thank you guys you’ve all been so nice), and the wine … well. It was a wonderful evening in this restaurant.

It's as the name says but to the highest level. One of my favourite meals ever. We had 3 kinds of steak & a lamb main and each tried them all & they were all amazing, so flavourful & the perfect texture. Great wines as well as starters, sides & desserts, there was nothing we didn't love & finish off. Lovely staff too. Wish I lived closer to go back regularly!

The food was really amazing and so was the atmosphere,but the service was not good. They didn't tell us that the beef burger was just meat without anything and the appetizers

Absolutely perfect!!! Couldn't have enjoyed this meal more. It was fantastic, the Picanha was so tender and juicy. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Really made us feel comfortable. I would recommend this place to anybody coming to Funchal. It was our favourite meal throughout the whole trip.

Excellent food. The crispy chicken skin was a revelation. Like home made chicken nuggets. Delicious. We had the filet mignon and pepper sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a smokey flavour. The pepper sauce was brilliant. Hot and peppery. A brilliant wine list we had an excellent red. The restaurant looks good and the staff were good. Really enjoyed!!!
