Everything about our trip to moolmanshoek private game reserve was exceptional. From the breathtaking scenery and clean mountain air, to the open plains dotted with free roaming herds of eland, springbok, sable and other game species, the beauty and serenity of the farm is really something special. The horse riding for which our group had come for, exceeded all expectations. With horses to suit all tastes and experience levels, and many different rides and trails on offer, this was some of the best trail riding I’ve experienced. From long exhilarating canters alongside herds of game, to slow and steady mountain climbs to visit caves and bushman paintings the riding was certainly the highlight of the stay. Another highlight was the food.. the mouthwatering meals were such that you find in the best restaurants, Even when this was a picnic lunch next to a dam, or breakfast set on the wide farmhouse veranda. Every member of the moolmanshoek team went out of their way to make our stay an unforgettable one. I’ll be back for sure…

Truly world class. Accomodation was exceptional. The food was the best wev'e ever had, bringing about oohhs and aaahhhs with every mouthful. For a group that are frequent horse riders, this truly was a different experience. Needing to question whether at times we were riding horses, or mountain goats, these sure-footed animals could canter, or climb. It was amazing to experience the versitility that was on offer. 5 stars to the guides, managed by Lindy, and 5 stars to the chef's, managed by Herman. Always service with a smile. We loved it and will return with great enthusiasm. Thank you moolmanshoek.

Very beautiful place! We were so relaxed and enjoyed the horse riding, seeing a variety of animals. I wish I could do more. The game driving was fascinating and we also learnt the rich history behind. Thank you, Willie! All the food we had was so delicious. We'll certainly be back.

The best horses. Added to a stunning part of the Free State with picturesque sandstone hills and rolling grasslands… a small piece of paradise.

The hospitality received was superb. The rooms are comfortable. The view is heavenly. The food is scrumptious and chef Herman Steyn is world class. The food was really exceptional and Herman went out if his way to accommodate my dietary restrictions. I can highly recommend a visit to a special place with very special people.

Moolmanshoek is a truly magical place. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at home. Everyone is incredibly friendly and attentive, and they go above and beyond to make sure that you have a memorable stay. Thanks a lot to Lindy who became a friend to me and a person I can look up to. She is very profesional, well organized and super friendly. I loved to work with the horses and how I could integrate my own way of working with them and I´m so grateful that they where open for this. The horses at Moolmanshoek are amazing. They are well-trained, well-cared for, and have a wonderful spirit. I felt safe and confident on every horse that I rode, and I had so much fun exploring the beautiful countryside on horseback. I had the opportunity to compete in an endurance race during my stay at Moolmanshoek. This was an extraordinary experience, and I am so grateful that Wiesman encouraged me to ride my first 80km endurance race. I was able to complete the race and feel an incredible sense of accomplishment. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Moolmanshoek. It is a place that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I highly recommend Moolmanshoek to anyone who is looking for a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

This was a great experience ever to come to,the place is really attractive and so welcoming, it’s definitely a nice place to visit with your loved ones, the service was amazing and it was so clean and breathtaking

Not sure of all the other reviews but clearly my experience was different. Firstly they never answered or called back on any of their phones I wanted to confirm my arrival. I did eventually get through on the day shortly before arriving. They put us in room 11 which was a surprise as it was a very small unattractive room with a small window . After showing us various options we eventually found a comfortable room worthy of the price. The hostess had a bad attitude and we felt very un welcome. The food was priced so high as you have very little option of going anywhere . a very simple menu which is quoted at R485 per person which I just refused .We settled on a toasted Sandwich for R85 each . which came with a very small wilted side salad . Breakfast ( included in the exorbitant room rate ) was way below par for a good hotel , very few choices in comparison to hotels of that caliber. I would never recommend or go back there.

Lovely! As a working farm and geared for horse lovers what a lovely place. Nestled in a gorgeous corner of the landscape, beautiful historic buildings and a friendly, warm welcoming compliment of staff that attend to your every need . We will definitely be staying there again !

A beautiful tranquil place. Many walking and hiking trails and many more to do, but to sit on the stoep is just as nice. The people are amazing and very welcoming. Great service and beautiful place. Food was good

9 friends went for a 3 day hike and we had a wonderful time with some great views of the landscape. The plant and animal life is doing great after the rain.

Idyllic location set between stunning mountains. Beautiful horses, outstanding game drives, and horseback safaris as well as extreme horse trails. Delicious food. Gorgeous rooms. Amazing and inspirational staff. Could not recommend enough.

Spent a long weekend with our dearest friends and family and had an amazing time. Surrounded by the most serene landscape made even better by the delicious food and friendly service. Had some beautiful hikes out surrounded by mountains and wildlife! Definitely recommend a visit!

This is the most magical place! Spent a long weekend here with friends and family. The food was outstanding, the horse riding with Wiesman was extreme fun and the farm is incredibly beautiful. So many beautiful places to discover on foot or by horse. The staff are lovely. My only complaint is not staying long enough. I will be back!

Such a beautiful place to ride. The horses are very well trained and the trails are wonderful. Riding amongst the game on the plains is an experience not to be missed. The guides are extremely professional and friendky. The food is incredible - worth the trip just for that, but when you add it all together this is an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.
