As a Culinary Institute of America graduate with 25 years of experience and a zest for youthful, fun, and zippy travel experiences, Victoria House in Ficksburg, South Africa, was an absolute gem! Stepping foot into this modern, pristine estate felt like a dream—imagine the best night's sleep on an excellent bed draped in crisp white linen and pillows that cocooned you in comfort. The scenic landscape adorned with rock walls, a lush forest of trees, and tranquil fountains was a sight to behold. Add to that the in-ground tiled pool, off-street gated parking, and rock-walled grounds—all contributing to an enchanting stay. Oh, and let's not forget the full bar and culinary treats that just elevated the entire experience. What sets Victoria House apart, beyond its aesthetics, is the owners' profound knowledge of the area. Their guidance not only led me to thrilling mountain biking trails but also facilitated an exploration of the breathtaking Lesotho, all while ensuring seamless airport transportation. The gardens brimming with citrus trees and aromatic herbs were a source of intrigue. Discovering that the owners are professional chefs themselves—humble and gracious individuals—added a unique charm. The impromptu culinary escapade in their professional kitchen, firing up pizza ovens, marinating steaks, and reveling in the aromas of garlic and herbs tossed in wooden bowls, was an absolute delight. Victoria House isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience curated by passionate hosts who effortlessly blend comfort, adventure, and culinary indulgence. A must-visit for those seeking a vibrant and enriching getaway!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Victoria House during the Ficksburg Cherry Festival, and I must express my heartfelt gratitude for an unforgettable experience. From the outset, the excitement of the Cherry Festival was palpable, and The Victoria House seamlessly integrated the festive spirit into every aspect of our stay. The Victoria House's strategic location allowed us to easily immerse ourselves in the Cherry Festival's activities, whether it was exploring the vibrant market stalls, participating in cherry-picking excursions, or indulging in the delectable array of cherry-infused treats. The owners' recommendations for festival highlights and local attractions were invaluable, ensuring that we made the most of our time in Ficksburg. The culinary offerings at breakfast were nothing short of exceptional. The rooms are an oasis of comfort, each adorned with tasteful furnishings and equipped with modern amenities. We had a fantastic stay at Victoria House. Gavin was super helpful and friendly. The rooms are stunning and the bed was super comfortable, could tell it, and the linen, is great quality. It was freezing outside but the heater inside the room was already on when we checked in which made us feel so welcome, wonderful attention to detail. The breakfast was delicious as well. Can't wait to stay here again!
