Star of India is amazing. Great food for both dinning in and take out. I love spicy food, and the extra hot option doesn't disappoint. Maybe go with spicy if you're not ready for the heat. The chicken and lamb is very well cooked/seasoned. I got the Tikka masala my first time and it hooked me on this place. The biryana was great as well. Great potion sixes for the price. My only complaint is I didn't know about this place sooner. Owner is also a great guy. He's usually hard at work in the back but when he comes to the table it's always with a smile and great attitude. You can tell he's passionate about his customers and the business.

With a change of ownership and cook around 2019, Star of India has become an excellent Indian restaurant. Since the pandemic, they do a steady takeout business, and the lunch buffet is no longer, but It's a great place to come and sit down and have a delicious meal with excellent service.

Great food, great service! Owner allowed us to stay after close to finish our meal. He was very welcoming and nice! Will definitely be coming here every time I’m in Athens!

Outstanding! Delicious food. We will be going back. Smooth, unhurried service. A friendly & pleasant waiter took good care of us. He explained the menu and determined our tolerance for heat. The chicken pakoras appetizer really stood out. The main courses were wonderful: spicy lamb Vindaloo for me and a mild lamb Kurma for my wife, both served with rice. We also got naan bread & lassis. There was complimentary chai tea at the end of the meal.

I had the chicken tikka masala (it was recommended by everyone) in medium. It was perfect the chicken was tender and the rice was the perfect consistency. If I was eating here again I would place a order online I think that is the most convenient for them. I love spicy food the medium was not a spice challenge and I believe perfect for most people. The gentleman running the place was kind even though he was incredibly busy.

Went in to order takeout, took about 15 min exactly for the worker to bring it out to me. Very kind service and a great atmosphere to rest and wait. They brought me a cup of water and it was a beautiful day so I took my food to the pollinator garden at the ridges. Alu Gobi w rice. Things are cooked well. It smells delicious. Can’t wait to finish this review so I can dig in deeper.

Delicious lamb palak!! I got it medium spice level and it was fantastic, the meat was super tender and the portions were plenty.

By far my favorite place in Athens! Amazing food and top tier customer service. You just feel like you're home there. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for food in Athens.

Cute little restaurant, friendly service and delicious food. I loved the Lamb Kurma, the lamb fell apart and melted in our mouths. My girlfriend ordered Chicken Jalfrezi and it was also extremely tender and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Star of India is one of my favorite places to have dinner in Athens. My husband and I eat here at least twice per month, but sometimes every week. Dishes can be ordered mild to extra spicy. The service is always top notch. We are so lucky to have this jewel of a place in our town.
