What a fabulous place; we set out from home on a walk determined to find The Lost Village of Dode, I didn't really know what to expect as I hadn't Googled it, so when we found it and it happened to be open for appointments, we got talking to the Celebrant Paul and he invited us in for a look in between appointments. Oh my goodness, the emotion took over, what a truly spiritual place, it captured me, so thank you to the kindness of the Celebrant for letting us in and the lady for going to get us a little booklet on Dode. If we hadn't gone on that day we never would have seen the beauty inside and I would never have known what a truly amazing place it was, which then led me to find Simon Pollard from Simple Life Ltd who runs a '5 Senses Walk' from Dode, which I went on today. Funny how life takes you in a direction at a time when I most needed help and support. A thank you to Paul 'the Keeper' who has made Dode what it is today, simply amazing.

Village of Dode is probably the most picturesque and charming venue in Kent. We have been catering at this stunning venue for nearly a year and it has been equally awe-inspiring each time we visit this place. The staff are really pleasant and helpful. We cannot think of a more magical venue for events than the Village of Dode.

After searching high and low for a venue for a smaller intimate wedding we stumbled across Dode. I contacted Becky who was so helpful with all the information we needed and booked a visit. We visited and instantly knew this was the right place for us to get married, Paul showed us around and he was great. From booking with Becky to the day she was so helpful with any questions we had. On the day we had Graham as our host and he made the day go swimmingly so helpful and attentive we didn’t worry about a thing it was all under control. Paul did our hand fasting ceremony which everyone thought was a great extra touch. Dode is such a special place to get married we had the best time we could have wished for. Thank you to all at Dode for making our day so special. Carlie & Doug 02.09.22

We can thoroughly recommend the full package at Dode. Becky, Doug and the team were efficient and super helpful when planning and orchestrating our wedding. The recommended suppliers: Flying Pig Kitchen Matt James photography Moody Blooms and The Kent Owl Academy that work with them made the day beautifully seamless, each adding their unique expertise to the occasion. The cottages made for a perfect stay on Thursday night with our friends and then for the bridal party the night before. The Dode setting really is magical, all of our guests were blown away with the setting - such a special and memorable place. We will definitely be back, either for the renewing of our vows in a year and a day or to simply stay in the cottages and soak up the atmosphere and memories. A quote from one of our guests, 'You can look at the photos online, but it doesn't compare to the way Dode makes you feel when you are there.'✨ Thank you for surpassing our expectations. What an amazing wedding venue. Since our wedding a few weeks ago, all of our friends and family still comment on how unique and beautiful the lost village of dode is. The medieval church has been restored faithfuly and with obvious love and attention to detail. The people who manage, more accurately care for, dode feel like such a tight-nit group. Becky helped us plan everything from the very first time we met, Paul was exceptionally supportive on our special day and went above and beyond to help make the day perfect. I couldn't recommend this place enough, the location, the building and the people, all 10/10. Thanks Dode!

Just a perfect wedding thank you all so much. Becky was great with communication, I stayed in one if the cottages behind and had the loveliest couple of nights there before the wedding and that was great too, so peaceful. Thank you everyone for making our day so special X

Dode is a truly special place! Only a few miles from Gravesend, it lies up a quiet track and is nestled in the most peaceful little valley. The church building itself is ancient and has a wonderful energy inside. This may well be due to the 7 ley lines that cross under the altar but it is also due to the love and energy that has been poured into it by Doug, Becky and their team, as they have renovated it and brought it back to life. They have even created their own barrow behind the stone circle where ashes can be laid to rest. I can think of no better setting for an intimate ceremony to celebrate any life event, be it a wedding, a handfasting, a naming or a funeral.

My partner, our little boy and I went for a visit to The Lost Village of Dode today. We met with Graham. He was a bit busy as there was a wedding prior to us arriving. He allowed us to have a look around inside the church and the garden. What a lovely gentleman! I'll definitely be having my wedding or reception there 😊 Thank you so much, Graham.
