    My partner and I purchased a treadmill through the Chelmsford Fitness Superstore. We are over a month into our experience and have a non-functioning treadmill taking up space in our home. We have twice (so far) had couriers no-show despite receiving multiple communications on the day that the person is on the way. In both cases, after the staff looked into it, we learned that the decision to not complete the order was made before we were repeatedly messaged they were coming. Once the treadmill was finally delivered - after a week of calls/emails trying to sort out delivery and having to re-arrange our work schedules to ensure we were there - we waited for assembly rather than try to assemble ourselves. The sales staff did work to prioritise our assembly, which we appreciate. We paid for their team to assemble the machine to ensure it was done correctly - the assembly team notified us at the end of their work that the treadmill does not work and demonstrated the issue. They did not communicate this back to the Fitness Superstore team in a timely manner as they said they would, so we called/emailed. Due to the team's failure to communicate, we had to go back and forth to establish that the machine is not working. Given the price and not wanting to deal with a machine that was broken from the start with only a limited warranty, we did not want a repair but rather a replacement or a refund. We opted for refund given the incredibly long timeline quoted for a replacement. Ironically, if we made a new purchase it could be delivered in days, but a replacement would take many weeks. So, as I write this, we are now stuck waiting for the non-functioning treadmill to be picked up by their team. This leaves us unable to get a working treadmill from another vendor due to limited space in our home. The staff have communicated politely in each interaction we've had, even when we express frustration at the incorrect information, the long timelines, and the loss of time (and thus money) this has caused. Overall, the organisation seems to operate quite unprofessionally and in our case sold a faulty product. (Review cross-posted on TrustPilot)

    Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, but trying to get a response from the firm once you have made your purchase is a nightmare. I had to wait almost two months for delivery, now after a couple of months the equipment I bought has an issue. Try phoning? Forget it, always engaged or ringing until the call is terminated, then for customer support you have to complete a service request, and do they respond? Starting to question my choice of supplier now...

    OK so I posted a review, that I can't find, with 5 stars about how good Darren from the Chelmsford store had been helping me re placing my order and getting delivery. Which he was. My order of a Schwinn 8 bike arrived, all good. BUT - I had made it clear I only have Android and was buying the bike to do Peleton spinning classes. Well guess what the bike's bluetooth doesn't link to the Android app, only Apple, which I only got told after it had been delivered. I feel like I have been misled. if I had known this I would never have bought the bike, which cost £1000. I spend over 1 hour on 3 occasions in 36 hours trying to call the shop with no reply, although they did reply by email, but only to confirm that the bike does not connect with the app. As I have unpacked and used the bike, and I suspect returning it would be a complete nightmare, I am going to have to buy an old iPhone to do the spinning classes, which is really frustrating. The bike is good but hoping I don't have any issues and that if I do that the store will be responsive to fix them.

    Terrible experience. Fitness Superstore delivered a badly damaged treadmill which I've paid £1200 for. On discovering this, it turns out it is impossible to speak to anyone in customer service: Fitness Superstore actively refuse to give you a phone number to speak to them. They insist you email which they then ignore. It's been about 10 days since my first email reporting the faulty product and there hasn't been so much as a courtesy response. I have had to open a section 75 claim against them in an attempt to get my money back. Avoid this company at all costs.

    I was looking for a spinning bike and was served by Gemma she was very helpful and patient she guided me through them all and let me try them all out as long as I wished she explained all the components, in the end i went for the most comfortable quiet bike with built in classes on the computer. The Bowflex C7 . Would highly recommend this shop for trying before you buy A+ Shop and staff

    Absolutely appalling post sales service. We bought a cross trainer that has a manufacturer's defect so could not be assembled. I am now calling and emailing daily, 15 days after receiving goods. I am aware there are problems with Covid but there is no excuse for this. Simply making contact would be useful. I have even spoken directly to the manufacturers who agree it is up to Fitness superstore to resolve. Fitness Superstore have over £550 of my money and I have an enormous box cluttering up my house.

    Really helpful and knowledgeable . Having looked on line we visited Fitness Superstore to buy a running machine. We were assisted by the lovely Abbie. She helped us to clarify what use the machine would get and the key features for our particular requirements. Abbie was highly knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to try out the machines I liked and Abbie gave us space to play around with the features. I would highly recommend this store for any fitness equipment.

    Lewis served us today and was very impressed with not only his knowledge of the machines, the time he gave us and more impressively his patience. We ended up purchasing three machines and he was extremely helpful and never pushed us at all gave us plenty of time and space to decide what best suited us. Would definitely recommend Fitness Superstore and especially Lewis who we will definitely use again to purchase our next machine.

    Very disappointed to be writing this review. It has been almost six weeks since I informed Fitness Superstore that the Spirit treadmill I received was defective and could not even be assembled. At first, I was happy for the treadmill to be repaired, but after waiting for five weeks, the repair never happened. I was contacted at the end of this period by a repair person giving me one-day notice of a visit on a working day, which isn’t workable for most working people. I asked to reschedule, but again, days went by with no contact. I have since asked for a refund and for a collection date of the faulty treadmill. Ten days later, this has also not happened. All the way along, Fitness Superstore has been communicative, and agrees that the product is faulty and that I am eligible for a repair or refund. However, throughout this process they have past me on to either third party repair teams or the manufacturer, Dyaco, neither of which are at all responsive or prompt. Weeks go by and nothing happens. Just to clarify, I purchased the treadmill and arranged delivery directly from Fitness Superstore, not Dyaco. I’m now out almost £2000 for a defective treadmill and unfortunately have to log a complaint with Citizens Advice to get my refund while the unusable machine takes up space in my home. Totally unacceptable and an appalling customer service experience overall. Seeing many of the other one-star reviews here, this is a clearly a common problem.

    If I could a negative review I would. If a product is faulty or you need to return it, they make you pay for the courier. Mind you that it cost me more than 150 pounds just for the return. when they received it, they charged me for the external packaging because it was ripped (which was already ripped when they delivered it). They claimed pieces were also missing, but when I asked what exactly so I can raise it with the courier, they said they didn't know!! appalling behaviour, rude people talking to customers! keep your money and shop somewhere else!!!!
